What do you think about Lorraine Kelly posting on Instagram from her hospital bed prior to surgery?

Interested to hear people's thoughts! I suspect opinions may vary and our ages could have something to do with it. But ... don't know.

What do you say?

Was it the real Lorraine Kelly or the Lorraine Kelly the personna for tax purposes only?

Openthisdoor · 03/05/2025 20:04

Why has it made the BBC News is what I want to know?

Helpmeplease2025 · 03/05/2025 20:04

Attention seeking, like anyone who posts from a hospital bed.

If there’s biological males on her ward, she’ll be absolutely fine with it, of course

Chellybelle · 03/05/2025 20:06

Not bothered about her.

BBC journalism is dead

FanofLeaves · 03/05/2025 20:08

It’s Lorraine Kelly so it’ll be for attention purposes.

WallaceinAnderland · 03/05/2025 20:09

Desperate for attention.

It winds me up no end - like all the Molly Mae stuff too that they reported. Like we’re all a bit dumbed down and stupid and need to be fed this crap. Rant over 😄

AquaPeer · 03/05/2025 20:12

I honestly don’t think there is anything wrong with it. Why shouldn’t she post whatever she fancies?

BBC journalism is dead

I resent having to pay the license fee for these useless fuckers.

Supreme Court judgement on the Equality Act - the reporting around it and the issues has been utter drivel.

The Appeal Court judicial review of RAVEC and issues around that eg Harry and his claims - ditto.

Lorraine Kelly - WTAF??

It’s like Take A Break from the Los Angeles office.

Seamond · 03/05/2025 20:16

Attention seeking

Mickeychampionwhatgoodami · 03/05/2025 20:18

Saw it on BBC news feed , skipped it.i wouldn't wish her any ill but just not interested.

SirChenjins · 03/05/2025 20:18

The obsession for sharing every aspect of your private life on SM (complete with the obligatory sad but being brave face) is baffling - as is why this is classed as news by the BBC.

Seamond · 03/05/2025 20:18

It is not news but that is down to the BBC, it should stay on Instagram where it belongs

Mypoorbody · 03/05/2025 20:22

Fine if she is in a private room. Actually so what if it was for publicity. She is a figure in the public eye.

It might also lead to more questions about women’s surgery. Article in the Independent includes some of the reasons you may have it “typically done as a preventative measure if there's a significant risk of associated disease, such as ovarian cancer.”

The article also says that she has been bothered by people accusing her of being lazy for missing shows, so better to put it out on her own terms. (Or worse it might become a scoop).

Lorraine Kelly shares health update as she undergoes ‘preventative’ keyhole surgery

Presenter said she has ‘not been feeling all that well for a little while’

Kardamyli2 · 03/05/2025 20:23

I think she's an annoying attention seeker.

Moier · 03/05/2025 20:23

Same as Emmon Holmes. Had a bad fall in bathroom.
Photos of him in Ambulance and hospital.
Can't be arsed with either of them.

LindorDoubleChoc · 03/05/2025 20:35

Maybe the BBC have made it a news story because the very fact she chose to make it public on IG is newsworthy? Why has she done it? I just find it so very deeply odd, more odd than the BBC reporting it tbf.

I didn't get the news from the BBC. It is everywhere.

i Don’t have any strong feelings either way about Lorraine Kelly - but i posted updates on social media when I was having my treatment for cancer so I could update everyone in as energy minimal way as possible. Perhaps this way she’s controlling the narrative so it can’t get leaked?

BeeCucumber · 03/05/2025 20:43

I wouldn’t announce on SM that I am away from home.

Cynic17 · 03/05/2025 20:46

I don't know why anyone would want to do this. What's wrong with just keeping it private? It's bad enough listening to people bang on about their ailments, without them putting stuff all over social media.
Talk about a lack of dignity......

Notshopping · 03/05/2025 20:48

Lots of famous people have done it recently eg Davina McCall, Max George, Eamonn Holmes so she’s no different. I read it with mild interest so don’t object to a news report on her. She is on tv every week day so well-known.

Notshopping · 03/05/2025 20:49

I wouldn’t personally do it!

Brisley · 03/05/2025 20:54

Do these people think they're the only ones who get ill?
