I used to love Cadbury… years ago, now it just has no flavour it’s waxy almost and just the texture everything is off, I like Tony’s and green and black isn’t bad, galaxy I’ve never like too sweet, what’s a good chocolate for a treat?

OP posts:

Toblerone, Lindt, Ritter. Continental theme there!

Monty Beaujangles truffles are good but so rich. Love the butterscotch ones.

MyUmberSeal · 22/04/2025 22:15

Green and Black and Tony’s. Lush.

How did you end up answering OPs query then?

I restarted my laptop things happen its old.

However does anyone know of any chocolate that none chocolate eaters can eat.

Does it have to be from a supermarket? If not, then I'd suggest Laderach or Chococo.

RosesAndHellebores · 22/04/2025 22:19

I like Tony's and Lindt
I'm never sold on Green & Black's.
I'm never sold on Charbonnel et Walker and wasn't even pre commercialism.

Not simply chocolate but I think F&M truffles are hard to beat.

I used to like Bournville Plain for cooking.

ZepherinDrouhin · 22/04/2025 22:19

Tesco's Molly's milk chocolate bar tastes like Cadburys used to in the 1980s before the addition of palm oil.

RabbitsRock · 22/04/2025 22:20

Montezumas is really good.

I like Cadbury’s DarkMilk. It could have a bit more ‘snap’ but it does actually taste of something. The chocolate I buy most often is Ritter Sport. The dark chocolate marzipan, rum & raisin & honey salted almond are all good.

RestitutionGranted · 22/04/2025 22:24

M & S dark chocolate with blood orange is bloody gorgeous 🥰

Marabou milk chocolate with mint used to be pretty good

Idratherbepaddleboarding · 22/04/2025 22:34

Aldi’s, especially fruit and nut which has proper, whole hazelnuts in.

I don’t get Tony’s, it tastes like expensive Yorkie to me!

Toucanfusingforme · 22/04/2025 22:35

Love Ritter dark chocolate marzipan and dark chocolate hazelnut.
Co-op do a really nice dark chocolate with raspberry. Prefer it to the Lindt one.
And Green and Blacks dark chocolate ginger. I was devastated when our local Sainsbury stopped keeping G and B Maya gold. That was my very favourite. Trouble is, by now it has achieved such a legendary status in my memory it might just be a disappointment if I come across it again!!

worcesterpear · 22/04/2025 22:37

I like bars from Lidl, can't remember the exact type, but look for the most expensive. They snap into pieces like proper chocolate, as opposed to the waxt type normally available nowadays.

Ive not eaten chocolate in 3 years or anything that has coco/chocolate in it.

Perhaps this isn't the thread for you then, plenty of others to choose from

GroovyChick87 · 22/04/2025 22:42

Milka and Lindt.

I have to have to try this one. Lindt dark chocolate with orange is my favourite but oooh blood orange - sounds delicious 😍

@Fabulousagain Is it because of sugar or cocoa?

Octopusespunchforfun · 22/04/2025 22:47

Tony’s Chocolonely is fab but the way they segment up the chocolate is infuriating. It’s not cute or clever I just want to eat my bar like a normal person.

zaxxon · 22/04/2025 22:47

We got some from Duffy's as an Easter treat. It was £££ but so delicious.

CatsMagic · 22/04/2025 22:49

Sainsbury’s own brand is nice

Coco.

SocialEvent · 22/04/2025 22:50

I don’t know what’s good, but the Ferrero Rocher Easter egg I had this year, nope.
That chocolate is waxy hell. I find Lindt a bit too sweet and cloying even.. I just find in general the recipe has been so pissed about with these days that its horrible. The M&S selection box of milk chocolates I had recently was horrible. Toney’s is overpriced crap too massive to break up a bar. I think I’d rather have ice cream.

SagaNorensPorche · 22/04/2025 22:51

Waitrose No1 Gianduja is lovely. Also like Aldi’s Choceur range - the praline one is delicious (and they come in handy mini bars too).
