How have you been affected by the Tran's community?

BabuFrick · 18/04/2025 16:15

As there are so many posts on here that discuss Transgenderism, has anyone been directly affected by the Tran's community, good or bad?
I'm quite young and only know one Tran's gender person, as far as I'm aware.

Thank you, I appreciate that reassurance. It did scare me :)

It’s crazy how we’re (women) so painted as the party in the wrong that you even say that what that man did was a traumatic experience ‘for someone who has been sexually abused’. That is a traumatic experience for anyone. And is, in itself, sexual abuse. These people are just like validated incels, you’re right. But incels are also being validated too now. Not by governments and institutions directly, but through other movements alongside such as the extremist trans. When women’s rights are taken away and they’re painted to be awful and deserving of violence and this is backed by places such as the nhs, it just encourages incels etc.

ColourlessGreenIdeasSleepFuriously · 20/04/2025 12:27

It makes sense if you think of gender as a belief system, in which case cis is akin to being called trans-Amish.

You're so right, I've noticed myself and other women putting the disclaimer that an experience with a trans individual was traumatic due to prior abuse.

I have unconsciously been apologising in a way, and I really appreciate you calling my attention to it. We can do so much work on ourselves, but little things slip through.

My judgement isn't impaired because I was sexually abused by a man... Anyone would find that experience in the post office scary.

And I completely agree re the incel movement. I have noticed a shift. They used to be laughed at, but now we have people like Jordan Peterson crying, saying "what about the men".

And Andrew Tate and his peers teaching young men that women are essentially gold digging whores who use sex to manipulate men and we can't be trusted.

Utterly vile

I hope you didn’t take it as me ‘calling you out’ in any way. I have done the same too. and your post just suddenly made me think oh my gosh, we’re apologising for being the victim.

so sad you had that experience and any others perpetrated by anyone regardless of who they are.

wdited to add, yes just constant anti woman attitudes everywhere atm. Very sad for our children when we came so far for equal rights. All these men who have never had to fight for their rights crying about how unfair it all is

Not at all! It is so important for us to gently bring each other's attention to things that can be perpetuating internalised shame and misogyny.

We are stronger together 💕

Two trans women entered a public loo, one of whom didn’t bother dressing like a woman (what does a woman dress like? I’m a woman, I usually wear trousers) and everyone left in protest?

Unlikely.

If you can’t distinguish between the sexes that’s a you issue. This world procreates on reality. Daft response.

Augustus40 · 21/04/2025 10:33

I get tired of all the endless overkill by the media to be honest. This is how it affects me. Can't go a single day without trans awareness being spouted about everywhere.

My ginger son at 13 was severely bullied by a trans person who has made his life a complete misery all because of his hair. He was isolated from his peers because of this one person. I may be wrong here but in America the school shootings a fair few of them were trans.

Hi, I found this statistic about mass l shootings in a public place which wil include school shootings hope it helps

Mass shootings in the U.S.: shooters by gender, as of September 2024
Published by Statista Research Department, Dec 9, 2024
Since 1982, an astonishing 145 mass shootings have been carried out in the United States by male shooters. In contrast, only four mass shootings (defined by the source as a single attack in a public place in which four or more victims were killed) have been carried out by women.

I couldn't find any stats about trans people in relation to this abhorrent crime, the only thing that stands out for me is the horrific number of mass shootings

Feeding the rumour mill to incite anti- trans sentiment? Not okay. Not okay at all.

Je5585 · 21/04/2025 13:39

Oh please shut up my son was seriously affected by a trans he nearly killed himself with a bloody dressing gown rope! What the hell is wrong with you I did and he suffered because of this one person and that was my experience so I am feeling it the way I feel. I already said DONT QUOTE ME! or didn't you understand that statement. Give it a rest!

I’m sorry for your hurt, but will not apologise for calling this out.

Campaign against bullying, for sure, but don’t use your anger about an individual who has hurt your family to stir up wider hatred for trans people, many of whom have suicidal thoughts or attempt suicide.

Will you stop categorising trans women (males) being prevented from using women’s spaces as stiring up hate?
It’s dangerous lunacy.

Je5585 · 21/04/2025 13:57

Yes just like my son and his fucking rope. I had to give up a good job to be home home to pay for private counselling because of this one person. This was my experience and I was telling it the way it affected me. What makes this kid so special, alienated his peers from my son because of what hair colour when clearly this kid has so many more issues, and you can keep giving me these links that I am not going to read! I already told you I felt sorry for people that felt this way as it's something I have never experienced. The post was about my experience and this was it. Don't you get that! Grow up and stop commenting on MY experience as the OP asked! Jesus!

Divebar2021 · 21/04/2025 14:20

@lifeonmars100

in relation to the crime reporting of mass shootings by sex - you would need to know the US police position of recording “gender” in instances of crime and arrest. A suspect who commits a crime but then kills themselves or is killed by police may be recorded as biological sex but an offender who is arrested may be recorded as a different identity when being processed at the station.

A guy at work who was absolutely terrible at his job decided to become a woman and is now a transgender woman. I expected her to become good at her job because women are obviously better at everything. She is still terrible at her job. It affects me almost daily because I have to deal with her and her incompetence.

But now they will be unable to sack him due to protected characteristics- smart move on his part

Being unable to do the job you’re hired to do had always been grounds for dismissal.
There’s no discrimination involved. Having a protected characteristic isn’t a free pass for incompetence.

But wtf, @Gymmum82 ??
Women are better at everything (debatable in itself) so you thought a man declaring himself a woman was enough to attain skills he didn’t have when he accepted he was a man?
Is this some sort of parody?

The poster was sharing an unsubstantiated rumour about trans people being over represented among school shooters. That’s not ok.

A poster was asking people to look at individuals not a group. @Je5585 has done just that, so it's not reasonable to attack her.

I will call out anyone who stirs up feelings against others on the basis of their sex OR gender.

True but companies are FAR more cautious where protected characteristics are involved

Sayithowiseeit · 21/04/2025 17:04

I was 17 when I met my now ex-husband, he sexually abused me with his penis. He sexually abused his 3 daughters, with his penis. 5ish years after we fled, he decided that he was a woman and emailed me telling me so, he said that his name was dead, and that person doesn't exist anymore. Essentially he excused the awful domestic violence and sexual violence/abuse because the person was dead and he's a woman now.

After I left. I had a very close friend who was MTF and again a much older person. I broke the friendship when his friend raped me and he allowed the rapist to live at his house. Few years later I see him on the news, arrested and charged with child sexual abuse images. Including over the years id known him and had my children around him.

These are the only 2 transpeople I have known, both older men. Both pedophiles.

However, I can see that not all trans people are like this. Of course we should have women only and men only spaces. However, maybe there should be a 3rd option a "unisex" option.
