How would you feel if you ate this in a day?

Foolsgold74 · 22/03/2025 21:20

Breakfast - 4 slices white toast n butter
Snack - 16 mini brownie bites
Lunch - small portion of fish fingers n chips
Snack - cheese n mayo sandwich
Dinner - large bowl of pasta with tomato sauce n grated cheese
8 glasses of sparkling water with lime cordial

Would this be akin to an average day for you? Would it leave you feeling hungry or stuffed? Bloated? Absolutely fine?

I’d feel sick, bloated and sluggish.

BlumminFreezin · 22/03/2025 21:38

Sounds bloody lovely for a hangover day tbh.

Every day though...I'd feel shit. The lack of fruit and veg I'd really struggle with. Even on a really 'shit food day' I'd generally have a couple of apples and some cucumber or tomatoes in a sandwich.

do you have any sense of what's behind it OP?

Boredom, loneliness, comfort eating, laziness, bad habits.

This would make me feel absolutely AWFUL, and I am not a food snob and slightly over weight, the person eating this must be at least a size 16+ that is far too much food.

I am around a size 12 and eat on a typical workday;

Breakfast: cup of tea with whole milk, potentially a slice of toast or croissant - but not really a breakfast person
lunch: veggie soup (e.g carrot and coriander, spiced parsnip, tomato), I usually add seeds, chilli flakes and those crunchy fried onions, with a south Asian flat bread (check your frozen world food section for an amazing selection of stuffed flat breads!). A meal deal if in the office, hoisin duck wrap, fruit pot and an Lipton peach iced tea
dinner; home made fried rice, Shepard's pie, lasagne, the basic stuff, served with salad or also contains veggies
Snacks: basically none, a hand full of grapes and the occasional penguin biscuit with a brew
Drinks: 2x tea with whole milk, Pepsi Max (far too much) and sugar free cordial

My diet isn’t the best but boy I would feel like I had a brick in my stomach and my IBS would be so bad I would start shitting out of my ears

Apreslapluielesoleil · 22/03/2025 21:40

I couldn’t eat that amount of food in a day.

It depends what I had the day before and after, but I would feel bloated and need a lie down. Especially after Pasta and Fizzy water, I'd be popping all night.

16!!!!! Mini brownie bites! That in itself would make me ill!
the cheese and mayo sandwich is not a snack…it’s a second lunch!

I would feel so sick.

today I had
brekkie-a Greek yoghurt pot with spiced apple and caramel sauce and granola with toasted seeds and nuts.
Lunch- an omelette with onion mushroom yellow pepper and cheese.
dinner- still pretty stuffed from lunch I had a slice of pizza that my daughter made with ham, pineapple and yellow pepper.
about 4 cups of tea and a couple of glasses of water.

I feel constantly worried that I'm damaging my health.

If you continue to eat like this then quite possibly. You are putting yourself at risk of T2 diabetes for a start.

Why don't you eat vegetables?

I am not a competitive undereater, but I simply couldn't eat that much in one day without feeling rather ill. I would aslso be the size of a house.

CurlyhairedAssassin · 22/03/2025 21:37

I'd feel sick and probably be awake all night with indigestion.

I've had a sleeping pill. I'll be out for the count in about 15 minutes!!

I feel constantly worried that I'm damaging my health. I'm annoyed I've put 2 stone back on and no longer fit in my clothes. I have major energy slumps. I feel bloated and stuffed yet hungry at the same time.

Can you afford mounjaro? Game changer. Just reading what you ate there makes me want to vom. I have between 900-1200 calories a day and can't manage any more. Ive lost two stone in 10 weeks.

CurlyhairedAssassin · 22/03/2025 21:41

How are you even finding the time to eat all that? Or is it just on days you're not at home? I work FT and end up quickly stuffing lunch down my neck at my desk while I'm working. I'd be too busy to eat all those snacks. SAme with the 4 pieces of toast at breakfast. I'd rather have the time in bed. I eat a bowl of porridge with berries every day, doing it in the microwave while I'm doing other stuff.

MarmaladeSandwichUnderMyHat · 22/03/2025 21:41

Physically I would feel violently ill and have painful acid reflux, most likely vomiting. Psychologically, I would feel great shame and guilt because I know that the food/eating was a symptom of something else that’s making me unhappy.

WednesdaysChild25 · 22/03/2025 21:41

All those carbs and no fruit would make me feel awful

jollygreenpea · 22/03/2025 21:41

I would be so full of gas,it would be coming out of both ends.

The sparkling water would do the top half, the bread would do the bottom half.

Why the sleeping pill? What's keeping you awake? Would it actually be indigestion?

Happiestathome · 22/03/2025 21:42

The types of food are similar to me. My diet lacks in fruit and veg. This is something I am trying to work on, as my body doesn’t like me for it. Quantity wise it is more than I could manage per day. I think I would feel unwell and more bloated than I already am most of the time.

You are damaging your health. Carry on like that and you’ll be gaining a stone a week. You need to seek help OP as that’s not a normal or healthy amount of food.

CandyCane457 · 22/03/2025 21:42

I’d feel fine! But would crave lots of veg the next day probably.

No, not indigestion. I'm just a long term insomniac. Originates from shift work and jet lag.

Was that given to a child - if so what age

or is the Op claiming s/he ate that ?

imnotwhoyouthinkiam · 22/03/2025 21:44

I'm massively overweight, size 22 and couldn't eat all that!
Although I'm 2 weeks into the Type 2 diabetes remission diet (total meal replacement) and am missing eating real food a lot.

mindutopia · 22/03/2025 21:44

It would be okay without the fish and chips and the cheese and mayo sandwich. Those would be what broke me. I can’t digest fat (like literally I can’t), and though I take medication, still can’t eat fish and chips without feeling like I am going to die. If those were replaced with a salad, I’d be okay.

abracadabra1980 · 22/03/2025 21:44

Bloated and disgusted with myself.
