How would you feel if you ate this in a day?

Foolsgold74 · 22/03/2025 21:20

Breakfast - 4 slices white toast n butter
Snack - 16 mini brownie bites
Lunch - small portion of fish fingers n chips
Snack - cheese n mayo sandwich
Dinner - large bowl of pasta with tomato sauce n grated cheese
8 glasses of sparkling water with lime cordial

Would this be akin to an average day for you? Would it leave you feeling hungry or stuffed? Bloated? Absolutely fine?

I would feel fine. Because I can and have eaten like that in the past. Things are much better now my ADHD is medicated though and I'm not constantly searching for a dopamine hit. 40kg lighter too...

Why do you ask?

Edited

My eating is out of control. I've not had a single piece of fruit or any veg for months. Sweets, chocolate n biscuits are being main-lined and I've put 2 stone on in 2 years. I'm greedy and struggling to get myself back under control.

I wouldn’t feel great. No veg, no fruit, no nutrients tbh. I’d b stuffed at some points, but hungry by bedtime.

😱hungry??? 😱

AlteredStater · 22/03/2025 21:30

I couldn't eat all that. No way could I eat 4 slices of toast at one sitting (nor could I now as gluten intolerant). I could eat 1 or 2 small brownie bites, then the small portion of fish and chips. I would not eat that snack, wouldn't feel hungry for it. That dinner would also be too much for me, would want a smaller helping. Overall I'd eat less than half of that in a day.

That's a very high carb and in my opinion boring day of food, where's the fruit and veg?

I’d feel like utter shit. Stuffed and sick. I mean I could probably eat it, but it would give me a stomach ache, I’d be both full but unsatisfied and would have had lots of sugar rushes and slumps throughout the day so would have no energy.

Xmasbaby11 · 22/03/2025 21:30

I think I’d feel ok but would be wanting fruit and veg the next day. It’s not an interesting day’s food - I wouldn’t enjoy it much!

WashableVelvet · 22/03/2025 21:30

in my 20s I would have felt fine!
in my 40s I’d get constipated and bloated and bad tempered. I need veg and protein now which I never used to.

pizzaHeart · 22/03/2025 21:30

I would be hungry. I would go for big portion of fish and chips for lunch and add cheese for my toasts for breakfast ( for protein) 😉

Ahhh my breastfeeding diet

Mine probably had more cake Grin

HippyKayYay · 22/03/2025 21:31

OP how do you feel after eating it though?

Wondering how long it would take the person observing me to start a thread on Mumsnet encouraging people to say how disgusting I am.

Is this actually about you? If so, it’s horrid of OP to make a thread.

It's about me. I've no idea who that poster is or what she's on about. Unless it's a joke that I'm missing.

There is no much fruit and veg and far too much white carbs - I would feel sick and unsatisfied and hungry and I would likely have tummy pains

have 2 slices toast and a couple of eggs
replace most of the brownies with fruit and nuts and veg sticks
then it wouldn’t be so bad

SheridansPortSalut · 22/03/2025 21:33

Full, bloated, nautious, tired, malnourished, craving fruit and veg.

PhilosophicalCheeseSandwich · 22/03/2025 21:33

I'd probably be okay if I could leave the brownies out - that would knock me queasy I think.

Cabbagefamily · 22/03/2025 21:33

I’d feel fine. It’s not super good for you, but I’d feel completely ok.

Awakeatnite · 22/03/2025 21:34

I’d feel like shit

DancingDucks · 22/03/2025 21:34

I don't think I could eat all that, I'd be stuffed and feel like shit.

OP how do you feel after eating it though?

I feel constantly worried that I'm damaging my health. I'm annoyed I've put 2 stone back on and no longer fit in my clothes. I have major energy slumps. I feel bloated and stuffed yet hungry at the same time.

I would try to make small changes, as trying to change it all in one go will probably lead to failure. Could you try and change the breakfast to something with a bit more protein (to feel fuller) and some fruit and veg and then try and stay with that for a couple of weeks before making another change

Small, sustainable changes. Anything you do needs to be sustainable for it to be a long term change. Going through massive restrictions will only lead to failure and result in more over eating and perpetuating the cycle. Do you have any support?

For context, I ate myself up to almost 30st, lost 15st, and then ended up pretty much back where I started. Now on the way back down again, hopefully for the last time!

StarDolphins · 22/03/2025 21:36

I would happily eat all those….spread over a week with 10 salads, 7 apples, 7 bananas, a punnet of strawberries, a punnet of raspberries & a bag of oranges mixed in!

SexAndCakes · 22/03/2025 21:36

do you have any sense of what's behind it OP?

Sweetpea333 · 22/03/2025 21:37

I have a huge appetite but would feel bloated, party and constipated after this. I always have eggs for breakfast and never white bread. As an occasional day it's OK but really not very nutritious.

I'd feel sick and probably be awake all night with indigestion.

Just an observation- a number of people have noted that they would feel unsatisfied- I guess that would drive you to eat even more - is this one reason why sone people - those who eat thier veggies - might find it easier to stay a healthy weight ?
