How would you feel if you ate this in a day?

Foolsgold74 · 22/03/2025 21:20

Breakfast - 4 slices white toast n butter
Snack - 16 mini brownie bites
Lunch - small portion of fish fingers n chips
Snack - cheese n mayo sandwich
Dinner - large bowl of pasta with tomato sauce n grated cheese
8 glasses of sparkling water with lime cordial

Would this be akin to an average day for you? Would it leave you feeling hungry or stuffed? Bloated? Absolutely fine?

I feel sick just reading that.

Same. I would be so nauseous if I ate all that.

KellySeveride · 22/03/2025 22:01

Sick and bloated to be honest OP.

My advice would be switch the snack first, to something healthier. Do you like fruits and veggies?

Can't bear them, especially fruit. I can force down a bit of broccoli if push comes to shove!

I'd feel gross. But I hate white bread and don't like chocolate.

Oh yes! I’m breastfeeding atm and look at this going, Yep sounds about the right amount of food!

Me three 😂 constantly hungry but the weight is dropping off me, this has never happened before and I am chuffed to bits with it, hahaha!

CarrieOnComplaining · 22/03/2025 22:12

Protein is missing as well as fruit and veg.

That’s why you feel hungry OP.

Foolsgold74 · 22/03/2025 22:13

Harrumphhhh · 22/03/2025 22:11

Genuine (not rhetorical) question: why haven’t you eaten any fruit or veg for months? Is it the taste/texture? Or something else?

Laziness...cba'd to prepare it, sugar addiction and comfort eating mainly.

Looks delicious- I wish I could eat like that every day! 😂 I’m a greedy person & love crap processed food but I don’t eat like that, even though I want to.

Picklepower · 22/03/2025 22:14

I'd feel bloated but otherwise fine tbh

Renamed · 22/03/2025 22:14

As a one off, I would feel shit, grumpy, over full but weirdly hungry at the same time. Repeated over several days I would get thrush- and I imagine, eventually, scurvy etc ( although at least the chips have vitamin c)

I'm 5'8. Was 9.13 , have put 2 stone on in 2 years, so am just about 12 stone.
I'm very active. Have an active job and walk a lot.

Oh that changes things re mounjaro then - I don't think you'd be prescribed it with that bmi.

This is not the place to seek help for your disordered eating. A whole load of people judging that list of food or describing their own disordered thinking around food is actively unhelpful. Please find appropriate professional psychological support.

Crispynoodle · 22/03/2025 22:16

Well I wouldn’t be able to feel anything because I’d probably be dead! But then I’m an insulin dependent diabetic so all those carbs would make me feel sick. I can’t even work out how much insulin I would need to take to cover all these carbs. All I will say is that I feel so much better when my blood glucose is under control

Oh, OK, is it? Genuinely. Is it disordered? Or just a lazy, junk food diet with a sugar addiction?

I'd feel horrible. A bit nauseous, lethargic and bloated. I love carbs but that's way too many, especially the 4 slices of toast for breakfast and 15 brownie bites shortly after.

LauderSyme · 22/03/2025 22:18

I'm sorry you are feeling so out of control and that you are being so critical and hard on yourself. It's very hard to break out of unhealthy eating habits once you've got stuck in a rut with them, and all your negative self-talk will be doing the opposite of inspiring you to take better care of yourself.

I think it would benefit you to reframe your opinion of Mounjaro etc. I have lost weight with it and would say it isn't a case of 'resorting to', it is more like resetting your relationship with food. It gives you the headspace to focus on consuming more nutritious meals because it reduces the cravings for carbs and sugar.

A daily diet like the one you describe would leave me feeling bloated, constipated and listless. I think I have become somewhat gluten intolerant though, so that would contribute to those symptoms. I would definitely put on weight if I ate like that every day.

Purpleturtle43 · 22/03/2025 22:20

Far too much food and barely any vitamins.

LilacPony · 22/03/2025 22:21

Just change one thing at a time. For example, you could say from this point onwards you won’t eat white bread again. I had a food item I felt addicted to and it was making me so worried and one day out of the blue I said that’s it, no more. It’s been three years and I’ve never had it again. The first four days were hell, I craved it so bad! But it got better. If I were you, pick one thing and eliminate it. Once you feel ok, pick another.

RampantIvy · 22/03/2025 22:21

@Foolsgold74 Plain boiled vegetables are rather dull. I have found The Roasting Tin series of books have got me out of a cooking rut. The recipes contain loads of vegetables cooked with a variety of herbs and spices and are absolutely delicious.

You simply prepare the ingredients and roast them. You get a delicious meal for very little effort and what's more there is very little washing up.

Vegetables really are delicious if you cook them in interesting ways.

If you really can't bear to eat vegetables you will need vitamin supplements and some lactulose.

SallyWD · 22/03/2025 22:22

You say you hate fruit and veg but honestly you just need to re-train your palette. The more healthy stuff you eat, the more you want.

Penko25 · 22/03/2025 22:25

I’d feel ill. I like eating lots of fruit, salad & veg though.

So true. And the less unhealthy stuff you eat, the less you want. Soup and smoothies are a good way to get fruit and veg down you.

Was possibly not far an average day two years ago. Was 6.5 stones overweight then, though. Now? I’d struggle to eat half of that.

Average day now? A small cup of cereal/30g and milk; sandwich with 1 slice of bread plus berries and yogurt; pack of quavers mid afternoon (shared with the dogs!); prawn and avocado salad or a ready meal at 400 cals/high protein brand; a glass of wine; 2 cappuccinos (semi skimmed milk). Water when I remember.

I've had acid reflux recently for the first time ever.

Please go see your GP about the acid reflux and get referred to someone about your eating habits. My SIL wound up diabetic.

Netcam · 22/03/2025 22:27

As someone who eats mainly vegetables, protein and healthy fats I think I would feel absolutely terrible after all that sugar.

Renamed · 22/03/2025 22:27

Ok, I see fine that no one is immediately going to replace 16 brownie bits with carrot sticks and salad and think, yum. Are there any ways you could get more fruit and veg in - apple tarts? Even some high fruit jam or nut butter on toast? Soup? Do you hate cooking?
