I born and bred in the East End so know I am not posh. I did ride horses though also had a tweed hacking jacket however grew up living in three rooms no hot water and an outside loo. I didn’t feel the need to do the quiz.

mnahmnah · 14/03/2025 17:44

40%!

Slightly skewed by the fact I have been skiing, but in school trips as a teacher. English countryside upbringing, but just normal in the sticks, not fancy! And I have ridden horses with friends in a girls day out, not as an expensive hobby!

Same here. I’m just so confused. How are Abercrombie and Hollister considered posh? I also don’t think red trousers or being able to ride a horse should be considered as “posh” 😅. I did google as to whether or not red trousers could be seen as posh and I came across this Tatler article.

Why do posh people wear red trousers?

Time to celebrate red trousers

SandrenaIsMyBloodType · 14/03/2025 17:47

Would anyone into fashion wear Jack Wills / A&F / Hollister today?

Exactly, that’s what my PIL wear to feel ‘down with the Grandchildren’ none of whom would be seen dead in any of those brands.

whatsthatBout · 14/03/2025 17:48

When was this quiz made, I feel like maybe 15 years ago Jack wills etc was popular with private school boys.

AnnaMagnani · 14/03/2025 15:19

66% and was robbed!

Quiz writer doesn't understand it's only blokes that wear red trousers.

I have burgundy leggings and counted those, oh and some Karen Millen high waisted palazzo pants too, but yes, generally men

NotYouAgain · 14/03/2025 17:50

I'm 12% posh, but both my girls are twice as posh as me, with 25%!

Dollydaydream100 · 14/03/2025 17:50

I didn't know Jack Wills etc still existed. The one in our town closed down ages ago.

Careertimenow · 14/03/2025 17:51

24% for me but my daughter got 30% she's more posher than me. I am a Champaign socialist.

  1. It says it on the page.
StarDolphins · 14/03/2025 17:53

Evidently you have to wear Abercrombie & hunt to be posh!🤮

Broadswordcallingdannyboy1 · 14/03/2025 17:53

28% posh.

ItGhoul · 14/03/2025 17:53

The question about whether you pronounce 'grass' with a short A or a long A is bollocks. That's a regional thing, not a class thing. A working class person from London or the south east would say 'grass' with a long A, for example, while an upper-middle class person from the north of England might easily pronounce it with a short A.

Anyway. I got 16% and presumably would have scored even lower without the flawed logic of the pronunciation question

dizzydizzydizzy · 14/03/2025 17:54

31% thought I'd score higher.

I love that you included your burgundy leggings 😂

The red trousers are chinos bought from places like Charles Tyrrwhit favoured by UC men - the more faded they are the posher you are as they look more authentic. Think "hooray Henry brigade", polo and tennis, yachting and pimms on the lawn etc.

Kaminari · 14/03/2025 17:59

Pensionableperil · 14/03/2025 18:02

69, which should be higher. But my accent lost me short vowel points. Even though it’s Dublin4.

UpMyself · 14/03/2025 18:05

I got 68%.
