65% I’m sure it’s the lack of Aga and not riding that brought it down.

madaffodil · 14/03/2025 18:08

I had to answer 'yes' to the family crest question, but it isn't really a family crest as such, but we do have a tartan (courtesy of grandma's Scottish surname). So I thought sod it, and said yes anyway.

Andabottleofrum · 14/03/2025 18:09

16%

Even though I grew up up in the home counties.

(I‘m definitely not posh, so pleasantly surprised!)

MedusaAndHerFavourites · 14/03/2025 18:09

82% - don’t feel it though!

MedusaAndHerFavourites · 14/03/2025 18:10

And no red trousers!!

madaffodil · 14/03/2025 18:13

The question-setter also appears to have forgotten that being born in Essex means you tick the home counties box...

And it didn't ask where my gorblimey cockney ancestors were from either.

Oldandcobwebby · 14/03/2025 18:15

49% My case was not helped by the fact that I see those clothing brands as try hard/chavvy and I have no interest in sport whatsoever.

Coffeeishot · 14/03/2025 18:15

MsBucket · 14/03/2025 17:44

Same here. I’m just so confused. How are Abercrombie and Hollister considered posh? I also don’t think red trousers or being able to ride a horse should be considered as “posh” 😅. I did google as to whether or not red trousers could be seen as posh and I came across this Tatler article.

What is the women's version of "The red trousers"?

EvilNextDoor · 14/03/2025 18:15

82%

And most definitely not posh 🤣🤣

RampantIvy · 14/03/2025 18:17

You got: 21% posh!
You’re not very posh at all. You do enjoy some of the finer things in life and probably had a fairly comfortable upbringing, but you definitely weren’t a Jack Wills-wearing boarding school pupil who went off to their parents’ second home in France in the summer. You value things like good manners, but are far from a snob.

Hooliewhat · 14/03/2025 18:19

44% , don’t consider myself posh, though like to think I have educated tastes.
The assumptions at the end though were wholly inaccurate.
Probably went to boarding school: nope, state all the way
Nice family holidays : Caravans in uk
We were poor. No car, no landline, holes in shoes, red letters, electricity (Lecki) cut off fairly frequent. I suppose poor is not same as posh but all in the interpretation. I did get into the habit at aged 13 of buying/stealing the Sunday Times each week. My folks bought the sun and news of the world. I loved comparing the different takes on same story. I think my educated tastes and indeed self education started there. I remember stretching out in the garden ( scruffy, toy laden garden) on summer afternoons and poring over all the different sections of the Times on Sunday. Good afternoon worth of reading.

Horse doesn’t equal posh. It reflects where you live.
Red trousers. Eh? Wearing them today.

ISeeTheLight · 14/03/2025 18:21

62%. My father's side of the family actually do have a family crest 😅And I did loads of horse riding when I was younger (although that was very much not posh and I was expected to help sort out the stables in return for cheap lessons!). Plus skiing every year. Abercrombie and the like are super chavvy though - proper posh people wouldn't be seen dead in clothes with big recognisable logos.
Also I'm forrin' so that probably went against me.

YourWinter · 14/03/2025 18:22

48% but I don’t eat out, Zizzi’s was a wildcard because I’ve never eaten in any of those options. Tennis because it’s the only one I’ve actually played (badly) since (grammar) school, where we had to do hockey and netball. Not posh.

How posh are you?
poshme · 14/03/2025 18:48

82% which I would expect with my username.

PurBal · 14/03/2025 19:16

84% I think it was the family crest that did it 😂

What is the women's version of "The red trousers"?

Good question. Is it a stripped shirt?

Scirocco · 14/03/2025 19:21

74%. It's clearly broken.

CorsicaDreaming · 14/03/2025 19:22

Xiaoxiong · 14/03/2025 15:30

77% which is hilarious as I'm forrin, innit!

I think you can be both posh and forinn 😆

BCBird · 14/03/2025 19:25

14 percent. Higher than anticipated 😁

thatmistylight · 14/03/2025 19:27

11%, which feels a bit much!

Grannywasafanny · 14/03/2025 19:30

Lol, 46 percent

You’re kinda posh, but not properly “posh posh”. You might have gone to private school and generally had a good upbringing – you went on nice summer holidays with your parents and were generally pretty comfortable – but you’re still far from Made in Chelsea-level posh. You’d probably describe yourself as upper-middle class.

No one on Made in Chelsea has ever been all that posh and they certainly aren’t now.
