None, but if I were Welsh I’d definitely have a Welsh one - I love their dragon!

MoltenLasagne · 02/03/2025 09:11

Loads - an old Union flag one, some Union flag bunting and then also lots of different flags. I'm quite a flag nerd so I like to collect them. It would be my specialist subject on Mastermind.

Clearinguptheclutter · 02/03/2025 09:11

A welsh one somewhere

scoobiedoobiedoo · 02/03/2025 09:12

At least 30, my son collects them, we have country flags, football, state flags he loves his flags.

Sorrelbird · 02/03/2025 09:12

We have two or three England flags for the football, and an American football one (no idea what team). DD has a handful of desk flags from places we’ve visited and ones she just likes. We’ve been flying a flag during big football tournaments since 1990.

ThisThreadCouldOutMe · 02/03/2025 09:13

Goodness knows. DC used to collect them when they were small, not the big ones, mostly the little ones that you can wave. We've got a full sized rainbow pride flag, full sized bi-pride flag, full sized England flag.

Then small Cornish flag x2, flags from when we saw The Railway Children at the theatre x2, a flag from A Day out with Thomas the Tank Engine, Union Flag x2.
I'm sure there's more, we've got a vase full Hmm

TheScottishPlay · 02/03/2025 09:14

A Forfar Athletic pennant, if that counts.

Chillilounger · 02/03/2025 09:41

I have never understood the appeal (unless someone is a collector). One house near us has a flag pole outside which is very weird. Never seen a flag on it though.

WendyHoused · 02/03/2025 09:48

Several Canadian flags and bunting for the Canada Day barbecue.
Welsh flag for 6 Nations (yes, it has been a bloody miserable year, thanks)
10m of bunting made for a garden party.

PenneyFouryourthoughts · 02/03/2025 09:50

None.

My Canadian relatives commonly put the maple leaf 🇨🇦 on their luggage or clothing to avoid being confused with Americans.

FrenchFancie · 02/03/2025 09:52

Do you count a ravenclaw pennant?

other than that, none. I used to live near someone with a flag pole and found that level of national pride a bit…. Odd to be honest!!

HelpMeGetThrough · 02/03/2025 10:26

Friend of mine bought a house with flag pole already there. He does fly a flag. He's ex Navy and Merchant Navy and says he likes it, as it reminds him of being on ship and always liked to see the flag flying.

BloodyHellBob · 02/03/2025 10:28

Two. A scull and cross bones one and a Greek one. They are the only flegs...flegs are very contentious where I'm from 😂

CornedBeef451 · 02/03/2025 10:29

I think we might still have an Indian flag in the cupboard. DH used to like to take it to cricket matches in his youth.

WorkingItOutAsIGo · 02/03/2025 10:51

Fun question! Made me think. We have probably 10 for the football club my DH and DC support as they give them away at big games. Several England flags for rugby and football matches. Plus, about ten large Union Jacks, 20 small Union Jacks, a French flag, a Brazilian flag and a Greek flag, along with an Olympic flag. Guess what we do on our holidays every four years!

SerendipityJane · 02/03/2025 11:23

WeeOrcadian · 01/03/2025 20:04

None

Bizarre question, even for MN

Actually it's a great question. Quite an insight into what "British" really means. And it clearly isn't the flagshagger performative cruelty of Suella Braveman.

Hopefully it's an indication that most people are grown ups and - even given how bad the education system is frequently touted to be - know what country they are living in. Presumably because they are true patriots and don't need reminding every five blocks. Unlike the rather insecure people in countries where you can't move for flags. Presumably that is because people forget where they are living. Something which is very hard in the country that is Britain because we have character ? 😀

zingally · 02/03/2025 11:33

One UK flag that we hang from an upstairs window for national events of importance. I think the last time we had it out was for the King's coronation, and prior to that the Queen's 10 days of mourning and funeral.

Oldraver · 02/03/2025 11:34

Oh I forgot we have cheese flags, OH laughed at me but I got fed up of the 'what's this cheese' at Christmas

Whatevershallidowithmylife · 02/03/2025 11:35

UK, Italy, Pirates 😆

BasiliskStare · 02/03/2025 11:44

Loads - mainly little plastic union flags from the coronation street party which I have put away for future use ( I bought them - didn't steal them. ) DH has a football flag and one from Siena as a souvenir. He always has to pick a team and so randomly he chose the Contrada Onda as his.

EvanBuckleysWife · 02/03/2025 11:49

Three, two football ones and a band one I got at a gig Smile

Yellowbananasarebetterthangreen · 02/03/2025 11:50

Ive got a small teddy with a Union Jack on his tummy - he sits on one of our bookshelves.

A keyring with a welsh dragon on it.
And a massive Green/White/Purple ie Suffragette flag - for taking to a womens rally if Im ever brave enough to do that. Ive got that as a tea towel as well.

TwoRobins · 02/03/2025 12:04

Just a row of white bunting on the wall over the bed.

offmynut · 02/03/2025 12:18

None whats the bloody point in having flags just more clutter no thank you.

KidsDoBetter · 02/03/2025 12:20

I had an EU one that I hung up during the brexit referendum to piss off my now Ex pro brexit husband. Think I still have it.
