On display generally ? - None

In various cupboards, ready to bring out during World Cups or Jubilees or International matches generally ? - Probably about a dozen of various sizes.

BatchCookBabe · 01/03/2025 21:29

Quite a few.

A Rainbow One that comes out for Pride Month.

An England one that gets put up when England are playing sport. (Or for St Georges Day.) Don't come at me for that, no-one complains when Irish people celebrate St Patricks Day, or America celebrates Independence Day etc.

A British one for anything to do with the Olympics or The Royals. (Or anything the UK is in!)

A Remembrance flag for November (Remembrance Day.)

I also find them horrendously chavvy.

My son does have a Manchester United one in his room though, he is a fourth generation Manchester United fan so he's allowed!

So, flags are 'chavvy,' unless it's your family putting them up then eh? 😆

LMFAO at the hypocrisy. 😂

Also LMFAO at calling flags chavvy. Every country has one, and many people display them. Including the Royal Family! 😂

ThePoshUns · 01/03/2025 21:32

One in a bag ready to take to cheer my son on in a marathon abroad.

Taytocrisps · 01/03/2025 21:32

I don't think I have any actual flags. I have a French flag on a fridge magnet if that counts?

peachescariad · 01/03/2025 21:32

3... one Welsh one English and one Union Jack

Lokioh35 · 01/03/2025 21:34

Have a uk flag from when we went to the alps to watch the Tour de France, it’s huge but tucked away in the garage now

Desperatelyseekingreason · 01/03/2025 21:35

We've got a bunting box. From memory a Middlesex flag, a Hawaii'n flag, some Devon flags and international maritime signal flags ( DH is insistent I point out this is a full set). I think they covers most eventualities 😬

Yellowtrouser · 01/03/2025 21:36

1 Union Jack from London Olympics

1 Manx flag from Manchester and Brum Commenwealth games

My English born children each have asmal Manx flag sent by grandoarents somewhere in their rooms.

Zilch

XxSideshowAuntSallyx · 01/03/2025 21:39

A couple of St George's flags and a pirate/skull and crossbones flag. None are up, all are folded up and put away in a drawer.

LBOCS2 · 01/03/2025 22:00

None, although we do have a 3ft high shield with a coat of arms painted on it that DD2 brought home from school recently, does that count?

Longhotsummers · 01/03/2025 22:07

WelcomeToMonkeyTown · 01/03/2025 22:38

This is completely outing, but I have a flag blanket, as I have knitted the flag of every country DH & I have been to.

I also make flags out of food.

Bloody love flags.

WaitingForMojo · 01/03/2025 22:39

I have a pride flag.

WaitingForMojo · 01/03/2025 22:40

Anyone else thinking of Sheldon Cooper’s Fun with Flags?

MagentaRavioli · 01/03/2025 22:42

I have some bunting, a couple of union jacks from the platinum jubilee, and a saltire.

WispasAreNicerThanFlakes · 01/03/2025 22:46

One. It’s not on a mast or a pole though. Kept as a happy sailing memory. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

DD (13) loves flags. She is fascinated by their history, their design and so on.

She has a Seychelles flag above her bed (her favourite flag). She has bunting of all the works flags. I have a Stars & Stripes left over from a Cub event (not on display!).

A friend of ours has a huge collection of flags from around the world and flies them ar relevant times eg; Canadian flag on Canada Day etc. He is quite well known in his city - international students come a see their home flags flying in his garden.

I have small Yorkshire Rose pennant too.

SantanaBinLorry · 02/03/2025 05:46

Two small Stars and Stripes - gifted by a visiting American choir.
LFC and Wrexham flags - footy fans.
And a Catalan flag - Lived on the Balearics for a while.
Irish and Italian flag swaps from scouting.

MsBette · 02/03/2025 05:54

Various European flags, from Covid lockdowns when my holidays were cancelled. But the weather was great that summer so we had various themed garden parties with the neighbours for something to do.

Firenzeflower · 02/03/2025 06:01

None. But if I had a flag pole I’d have the Ukrainian flag flying.

bifurCAT · 02/03/2025 06:03

Only red flags 🚩🚩🚩

cariadlet · 02/03/2025 06:08

One - Afghanistan (the pre-Taliba flag)
