It’s an odd (that’s an understatement) thing to do in terms of weeding out underperformers. In that article he says the ones who responded should be considered for promotion, what for just responding and typing an email, that’s a low bar? It’s a bit wishy washy, I’m better at performance managing than he is. Or is it that ones who make a stand and don’t reply he thinks will be the type to work to rule, assert their rights etc so a good way to weed them out?
