I got told yesterday by the girl doing my nails that I had lovely long nail beds. I'm not even sure what a nail bed is but I'll take it.

Beautician said that I had the longest nail beds she had ever seen, still none the wiser if that is a good thing or not 🤣.

The podiatrist said I had no hard skin on my feet and complimented me on how well I looked after them
Then as my dad walked in after me she said "now you need to give your foot care routine to him" Grin

daisypetula · 24/02/2025 01:34

You look nicer when you smile

2catsandhappy · 24/02/2025 02:39

My exh telling me that my roast potatoes were nearly as good as his mum's, wasn't as well received as he thought it would be.

I have been told several times that I have a lovely cervix when I’ve been for smear tests

Mumlaplomb · 24/02/2025 06:55

I was told when pregnant by a concerned looking GP that she thought I was going to have a very big baby, but it’s ok because I had a very big pelvis!! I’m six foot and quite broad but it did make me laugh!

I was told that I had lovely long nails beds too! I accepted the compliment without knowing wtf a nail bed was but after reading this thread I finally know 😂

I was also told I have a stylish walk - no idea what a stylish walk really looks like compared to a non stylish walk - I thought mostly we all walk the same with the exception of shufflers!

You would be amazed how different people walk. The people I work with I can tell who is coming from a distance by they walk.

Oh, I can tell who is coming towards me from a quite long distance by their walk! I think that’s not a small compliment at all, @TheChosenTwo!

Omg your hair is so thick you can do so much with it 😍 hairdresser proceeds to be able to do nothing with it

TwoRobins · 24/02/2025 08:48

My cousin in our teens: "I'd like your face but wouldn't want your figure."

Northernladdette · 24/02/2025 09:06

I didn’t think it was fashionable to make personal comments about others 😩
I got into trouble from my daughter for saying to her friend that she looked pale 🙄

BBQHulaHoops · 24/02/2025 09:16

I have nice knees apparently and nice clavicles. Not so much in between i guess?

Also I don't know about my veins, but i have twice been complimented on the quality of my blood.

i have worked so hard to achieve these things, I may yet add them to my cv! 😂

NotbloodyGivingupYet · 24/02/2025 10:24

When I was in labour. Nurse muttered something about my first push not being up to much. Doctor said "Ah, but her second push more than makes up for it, it's fabulous".
So yes I had a fabulous second push. It's never been a particularly transferable skill.

When I was having a c section with my twins, the two surgeons stitching me back together said I had a wonderful abdomen. Its not so wonderful anymore!

Gardenbird123 · 24/02/2025 16:59

Mine too!

Emmz1510 · 24/02/2025 17:50

I agree with the ID one! I’ve always been told I look young and was being id’d fairly regularly till I was 35! Being told you look young isn’t necessarily a compliment- for me I struggle to be taken seriously sometimes.
A music teacher at school once told me I had nice long piano playing fingers. I played keyboard a little when younger but not anymore. I do rather like my hands.

Saz12 · 24/02/2025 19:04

I have a "nice thin endometrial layer".

I used to get id-ed too. It was pouring down with rain, I had a close to 1 year old in the car with dh. Ran into Asda for a few small things, including 1 x bottle of bucks fizz to celebrate dc's birthday.

A lady came over and asked for ID when I was on the self service. I said "But I'm old enough." She replied with, "Sorry, we have to challenge anybody under 25, and you're not over 25." She was about to cancel it off, and I said, "My ID is in the car, and it's raining!" At this point, she thought I was a right chancer. She said, No, you look too young, you can't be old enough." I was getting really irritated at this point having had little sleep, and shouted, "I'm 32!! I have a baby in the car, and it's raining!" The man next to me was howling. I ran back to the car, grabbed the ID, took it back in, soaked with rain. The woman's face was a picture, studying it and then showing her colleague. "How is she 32?" She then begrudgingly put it through. It was only bloody bucks fizz! 😂
Now I'm pushing 40, with 2 dcs, the last few years have obviously taken their toll, I'd love it to happen now!

DS when aged about 4 was adamantly refusing to move when I was trimming the bush and he started mourning the loss of my "lovely winter pelt".

I also have very nice neat ear canals apparently.

AMurderofMurderingCrows · 24/02/2025 20:04

I had to get a tooth out today. I'm not a fan of the dentist (who is) but I was told I had done really well and the dental nurse gave me a sticker to prove how well I had done. I'm 55 😂😂

We had such a laugh about it ❤️

JohnWayneswife · 24/02/2025 21:04

We were in the dressing room I was trying on wide leg jeans and my daughter said 'get those mum, they make you lookike you have a bum'

Mintyt · 25/02/2025 10:26

I was told by a Dentist that I have a nice soft palate

SunnySideUK77 · 25/02/2025 17:38

breast-feeding nurse in hospital told me I had ‘a fantastic set of equipment there’ when helping me get started 🤣
