I've never gone line-by-line before in my bank statement before

Just thought you'd all want a nosey 👀

Food: £337.15 (mid week top-ups)

Coffees/cafes: £181.30

Lunches and dinners out: £242.43

DC: £4,550 (this includes school fees broken down to a monthly number, lunches, weekends with DC like Harry Potter world as an example, kids activities like gymnastics etc, paid for by term but broken down to the month)

Beauty: £1301.20 (waxing, Botox, hair colour, etc)

Shopping: £216.39 (new ballet slippers for DC etc)

Misc. £545.27 (things I had no idea what they were on the line item)

Private dental work: £981.63

DH pays rent, bills, running the cars/petrol, insurances, date nights, nights out, holidays, savings, weekly "big shop" and everything else.

But she did 😵‍💫😵‍💫
The title literally says it - ENTIRE months wages. Therefore the money in that list is her ENTIRE wages fo that month. It’s really not rocket science 🤷‍♀️😵‍💫😵‍💫

Sweet Jesus 😆

she’s told us the figure she spends on coffee

my point is… it would have been more interesting if she actually told us her salary

She may well have been spending more. We shall never know. But I’m a bit scared of you shouting at me 😆

Most of the thread (from what I have seen) is pointing out no one is really interested in her wealth, or lack of wealth, depending on where they are on the income scale. The overall opinions seem to feel she is bragging, which is my opinion also.
The odd nasty post, about the Botox use, I agree, uncalled-for.

I’ve seen “ugly” or inferring the op is ugly many times I have also seen “moron” “crazy” …. I could go on

Spottyshirt · 14/02/2025 06:21

Fouradayistoomuch · 13/02/2025 20:19

It’s quite bizarre to bother to comment on a post that they are not interested in, particularly to do so with such spite.

Agreed

There are many things I don't understand @user263758918

Why do you post on MN at 3am. 4am , 5am? You supposedly have a high powered job and two children. You say you're in the UK. Aren't you exhausted for work if you're on MN in the night? Are you stressed?

I do feel a bit sorry for you, that you're using so much Botox in your 30s. (You have a post saying you want to have another child this year which suggests you're still young-ish. ) Surely no one your age needs Botox regularly?

I actually don't believe some of the figures in your first post.
Dental work that runs into the hundreds doesn't usually include 'pence' as the total. No private dentists have fees that include a few pence. I've had private dental work for years.)I think you've invented some of the figures.

Spottyshirt · 14/02/2025 07:16

Actually good point about the dental treatment. I’ve just had composites, went in to the hundreds, and there certainly wasn’t any pence involved!

I spent over £600 on periodontal work - 2 appts (assessment and treatment) - had private dentistry for 35 years. Not a 'penny' in sight! Everything in straight £££s.

Good spot.

I really don’t think OP is human. I suspect the post was generated by a bot.

It was probably coded / trained by a teenager or student. They think anybody over 25 is impossibly old and hence needs lots of Botox and extensive dental work each month.

Shouting at you 🤣🤣🤣 I’m emphasising key words to help you understand as clearly you’re reading something different to me 😉
She’s told us many more figures than just coffee 🤔😵‍💫
If someone said to me they’ve blown their entire months wage on a spa package that cost £1000, it’s safe to assume their months wage is £1000. If they were paid £500 they’d say I’ve blown half my wages on a spa package.
I really don’t think it could be any clearer to be honest 🤷‍♀️

Spottyshirt · 14/02/2025 13:51

I assume nothing 😆

still scared of you 😱

I hadn’t considered the Op might be a troll
but yeah… such a random dental treatment figure is, odd shall we say

Spottyshirt · 14/02/2025 13:54

Anonforthis58 · 13/02/2025 16:19

Really? 🙄 You’ve spent £8355.37 in 1 month! Most people don’t have that to waste in a full 12 months! Honestly, ffs, read the room and go boast elsewhere.

“Read the room”

if this was a Benefits chat forum or a Cost of Living chat room, I’d agree
but it’s not, and there’s loads of us in “the room” with all very different financial circumstances

Maybe she's an MLM hun. We all know those schemes earn participants an absolute fortune! 😄

Or perhaps OnlyFans

Well of course there’s some level of bs going on. Many of us have asked OP to clarify her salary, not because we can’t add up but because we suspect she’s lying and if she gives a figure, we’d likely be able to tell if she’s talking crap. It’s probably the reason she hasn’t. She’s clearly not shy of sharing her finances (which she’s never gone through line-by-line before??).

I can accept pennies on food shopping, meals etc. but dental work and beauty services. I’ve never had a blow dry and been charged £35.21p before. She’s just added them on so it appears more believable.

Doremisofarsogood · 14/02/2025 17:48

Stealth boast much?!!

Janus · 14/02/2025 17:57

How out of that enormous figure did you only spend £330 on food to feed you all for a month?? My food bill is almosf my biggest outgoing and if you happily blow over 1k on beauty I expect you like to eat well so why is food cost low?

OlderGlaswegianLivingInDevon · 14/02/2025 18:01

@Janus

Her dear h pays the weekly/monthly food bill/s, hers is just a mid week top up.

BobbySox71 · 14/02/2025 18:08

I’ll admit I have 1 big luxury item, it’s my horse and I reckon I spend at least £600/month on his stabling, food, shoes and insurance. That’s nearly half my take home pay.
BUT we have our mortgage paid off, I work 30 hours/week and do is semi retired. My ‘beauty’ treatments are a haircut when necessary, luckily my skin is good at 53. I drive a 13 year old economical car and I’ve health insurance through work. DD is 20 and just starting her career in the Royal Navy. I consider myself not rich but comfortable

Pres11 · 14/02/2025 18:11

Why would I want to see this?!

Melodramat1c · 14/02/2025 18:23

u could afford a house if you stopped wasting £1300 on beauty stuff

I have a haircut once or twice a year, sometimes it’s a dry cut if I can find a hairdresser that will not insist on a blow dry. Never had Botox etc. I am late 50’s and am astonished at what people spend on beauty. Each to their own I suppose. I have invested in property instead by being cautious with money all my life. It is paying off 🤷‍♀️

HarrietsweetHarriet · 14/02/2025 18:35

Wow.
I hope you also manage to donate something to a food bank.

TunipTheVegimal24 · 14/02/2025 18:41

BobbySox71 · 14/02/2025 18:42

I’m puzzled by your reply, I’m only putting into perspective what people’s lifestyle/luxury is. I have 1 luxury I work hard for
