I mean…. It doesn’t mean she’s not over spending 😆

Not when her title says Watch me spend my entire monthly January wages. If she was overspending her title would be January wages plus more 🤷‍♀️

SpanielsSunflowersSand · 13/02/2025 10:15

The OP has shared a small snippet of her family’s monthly ongoings (she clearly states her husband pays for a larger portion of their bills). Why have you assumed they don’t as a family, donate to worthwhile causes?

Because rich braggy people rarely do?

Humble decent ones do.

That's over 8k!!!! In a month 😮
I mean good for you, I would love to earn that kind of money. If you are happy about what you are spending it on, I wouldn't worry what a random bunch of people on the internet think.

For context my annual salary would equate to 2 months of yours 😄

You were wrong!

I'd say January was particularly high.

Botox is only once every 3-4 months, I started by getting just 3 areas and if you find a good high street injector like Therapie then you're looking at £300ish maybe for the lot. On a monthly basis, that's not crazy.

For childcare, we have an after school nanny and in school holidays it's a mix of nanny, school camps, WFH, time off, the usual juggle.

"the usual juggle"
😂😂

😆

yes posters that say “read the room” make me chuckle. As though all of us are on the bones of our arses

Going by some of your posts on this thread, you seem to want to sneak in some stealth boasts of your own...

The existence of people with money isn't annoying to me. OP boasting about these levels of extravagance is striking a bum note with many of us because there is a cost of living crisis on, amongst other things. For some of us OP is coming across as tone deaf. It's not toxic or hostile to voice that perspective.

This ⬆️. It's not an interesting or witty post, not really enlightening. Just boasting. Fine, if that makes her happy.

OctopusFriend · 13/02/2025 17:32

Let me tell you, OP, the cost of Lamasil is outrageous. I hope you never get athlete's foot, that would tip your budget over the edge.

Threeboystwocatsandadog · 13/02/2025 17:36

Your monthly spend on beauty plus your meals out and coffees come to around our monthly income. Your top up shops are more than my monthly food bill. I don’t go without necessities and I save something most months. I suppose, if you can afford it, then why not but it all seems terribly wasteful to me.

Spottyshirt · 13/02/2025 17:37

@ruethewhirl i was on your thread about whether to buy a Dyson air wrap at £499 or a shark wave at similar price point

How very dare you, when some people won’t even be able to afford a comb.

Read the room

It doesn’t matter to you

to the rest of us…. Intriguing to be spending like this and not own a property

I work in a job that asks on the application form 'do you own property, including overseas', and the amount of people who 'incorrectly ' say no, is alarming. Maybe she does and it's owned outrightly, part of a trust or any other, so is not factored in.
Maybe she's not a waffly type, so went directly to why she's paying rent here.

You mean to say people who own a property overseas tick that they do not? They must struggle in life

My husband and I don’t own a property. We don’t want to and I don’t see that changing. We probably spend the same amount so could definitely afford to own.

I hope you enjoyed reading it, but your attempt at making a point of it is illogical. At no point on this thread have I claimed that I never make expensive purchases myself. The difference is that I don't chuck money around like OP does and I don't start threads boasting about how much I've spent on crap when some are struggling to make ends meet.

Hope you had fun stalking me though. Might I suggest a hobby or two?

Snowmobilemum · 13/02/2025 17:47

Okay so you want to boast about how rich you are. Yawn.

CorduroySituation · 13/02/2025 17:49

ByPearlSnail · 13/02/2025 09:20

I’m guessing you don’t have any money left for self awareness in that budget

Excellent point!

OctopusFriend · 13/02/2025 17:51

How much do you spend on eyelashes?

But some could say starting a thread about whether to buy a £500 hair appliance versus another very expensive was failing to “read the room” and when people were struggling to feed their children, grossly insensitive.

indeed some could argue the very items you were asking about was “chucking money around” on “crap” 😆
