I'm browsing the homeswapper website in bed next to dd who is on her tablet

Catching up on eastenders

Got my new freezer today - already dented it trying to move it into the kitchen 🙄🙄

Despite the fridge, I'm quite cosy and happy - trying my best to stick to my diet and not eat any of dd's sweets 🤭

Whats everyone doing?

Just got out of the bath and looking for something to watch while DH goes to pick up DD from a guides event. 11 years old and has a much better social life than me 🤣

Drinking red wine remembering my husband on his Birthday, he died 17 years ago. I don’t normally drink but the wine tastes so good and if he was alive that’s what we would be doing anyway

Read this thread and remembered that the rugby has started so just switched that on. I've had a fucking rubbish week with a savage infection. I am feeling very sad and grumpy and I am pushing away lovely DP because of it even though it's not his fault. I won't see him til next Friday now either.

DS is not feeling well. Other DC out at a sleepover so we're planning to get into bed soon.

I'd murder a gin and Tonic but I'm on strong antibiotics because of said infection for at LEAST another week and a half 😪

I'm sorry, and sorry you've pushed dp away - I'm sure they'll understand and you'll be almost off the antibiotics when you next see them

Wishing your ds well, I love being in bed with my dd on a Friday night xx

Going to curl up on the sofa with our two dogs, infront of the fire, enjoying some red wine and a horror movie whilst my DH is working away.
Just not sure which movie to pick yet.

Id suggest something but I'm such a snowflake I'd fall apart at a horror film 😅

Horrible week of work, but currently steak and wine. We're off to Malaga for a long weekend tomorrow, so I also had to pack and sort my plastic bag. Dh has spent ages ironing things, but I've just bunged all mine in the case. Dd at Uni messaged to say she has toothache, but has made a dentist's appointment. Looking forward to sun, sea and tapas.

Have fun in malaga! It's due to get quite cold so I'm sure it'll be a nice break!

Im the same with packing tbh 🤭

Was going to be drinking wine but put it down as little 'un's O2 sats have dropped a bit tonight and he was not quite himself when he got home from school, hopefully they will settle at 95-6% and stay there. Just about to make a frothy coffee instead.

Oh hope he feels better 🥺

How come you measure his o2 sats though, is this something all parents are doing 😬

Early night for me and my DH. Both absolutely shattered, been an awful week all round, mental health breakdown (me) and elderly parent having to be admitted to hospital (his).

Lucky DS (17) and DD (11) are kind and understanding. They are going to watch a film with popcorn then take themself off to bed when it's done.

So ready for this weekend. This week can do one

I'm sat in a bar in Egypt with a glass of wine (which is reminiscent of communion wine), having a lovely time people watching and mildly judging my fellow tourists, while painfully trying to learn Arabic with the lovely bartender who keeps my glass topped right up and has a bottomless well of patience and good humour.

It's a hard life.

(It normally is, which is why I'm allowing myself a small amount of smugness at my current good fortune)

Watching the start of the Six Nations ( rugby). My DS, at uni, will be texting me throughout with his comments so I need to watch.
I actually love rugby, spent many years watching on the sidelines, but now DS is living away from home it’s great to be that mum who knows what he’s talking about.
He’s hoping to have a career in rugby as an analyst so he will spend hours talking about the games.
His flat in halls overlooks the uni pitch, where during the Autumn Internationals the visiting teams had practice sessions. School boy dream come true.

🥰🥰 that sounds lovely for ds - I've never gotten into it myself but don't mind perusing the handsome men when I catch it on the tv 🤭

I'm about to put DS to bed, then I'm going to have a beer and watch some telly. Been a long painful week (had a fall) but today I'm barely aching at all so celebrating. Then I'll go read in bed, rereading the Call the Midwife books at the moment.

I didn't know they had books of call the midwife 😅

Feel better, a fall is never nice x

The giant pile of ironing that's been staring a me Al week.

Finishing off my book as my New Years resolution was to read a book a month, I've got 120 pages left!

I have a tendency to buy books but not actually read them so I've piled 12 up on my bedside to get through. Current one is Argylle. February's is Witches of Vardo. Partially read last year as it was my 'car' book for when DD was at activities so need to finish that.
