What are you doing tonight?

I'm browsing the homeswapper website in bed next to dd who is on her tablet

Catching up on eastenders

Got my new freezer today - already dented it trying to move it into the kitchen 🙄🙄

Despite the fridge, I'm quite cosy and happy - trying my best to stick to my diet and not eat any of dd's sweets 🤭

Whats everyone doing?

Last day of holiday and dreading going back to a freezing Scotland 🥶
Rugby's on tonight though😁

Tisfortired · 31/01/2025 20:07

Apparently I’m eating pizza on the sofa and watching old episodes of top of the pops

GrapefruitFrog · 31/01/2025 20:08

I’m staring into the void after another long week of having a 1 year old and 2.5 year old and a full time business. I’ve been meaning to start the dinner for last 45 minutes….

rightoguvnor · 31/01/2025 20:09

Watching Castaways which we've been recording this week.
Having Breville toasties for dinner, dips and grapes.
We only drink alcohol on Friday evenings so enjoying a glass of wine.

I've just come back from having a cortisone injection in my knee. I've been told to rest for 48 hours to give it the best chance of working and hopefully putting me out of the excruciating pain I've been in due to severe osteoarthritis. I'm therefore spending the weekend in bed. I've got a new jigsaw, some baby knitting, a puzzle book, radio and TV. DH will wait on me hand foot and finger without complaint and I will try to enjoy the reset.

Enjoy your bedrest, hope you have plenty of chocolate 💐

weegiemum · 31/01/2025 20:11

Scrolling Mumsnet
Watching the next episode of "Severance"
Eating curry for dinner!

warmandsoothing · 31/01/2025 20:13

Listening to DH & DC call me out on everything and anything. I do everything at home. None of them appreciate me or what I do.
I had a glass of wine planned for tonight but the moment has gone now and I don't feel like it. I've got cancer and having treatment for it. I also had a concerning symptom today and am worried it's more cancer. Not told DH. He doesn't seem interested anyway.

So all in all a shit Friday eve for me

Many years ago, in my misspent youth, I made my own edibles, in the form of biscuits. I took a couple with me to immigrant school (language and culture learning) one day (to make it more entertaining) and one of my classmates saw my biscuits and asked if she could have one. She couldn't speak English, I couldn't speak Russian, and we both had very limited Finnish at that point so I couldn't explain to her why I shouldn't give her one, and I didn't want to be rude and just say no, so I ended up giving her one. They were pretty mild so hopefully she didn't get too much of an effect, but she never asked for any of my snacks again.

😄😄😄😄😄 omggg

She must've had quite the journey home 🤭🤭

Also, Finnish school, awesome! x

Just got DD to bed, we’re going to order a takeaway and attempt to watch a film but I think I’ll be asleep 5 mins in

Oh @warmandsoothing 🥺

I'm sorry your dh is behaving like this. You'd think that with what you're going through they'd be treating you like the precious thing that you are

Will you call the GP or the oncologist on Monday about this new symptom? Don't put it off ❤️, you need to take care of yourself right now, your dh can do the rest

An evening in bed with some sweets and a boxset? I'm watching Up All Night on prime and it's alright. Thoroughly recommend two doors down for laughs xx

Away at hotel as hiking tomorrow with my walking group and I didn't want 2 hours of travel before a 10 mile coastal hike so booked a room close to start point. Currently eating dinner at restaurant and scrolling on Mumsnet.

Omg, can you do an airfryer or oven meal? Mske things as easy as possible?

I'm off the carbs but could murder cheese on toast (on a bagel) done in the airfryer x

You've got this girl x

@warmandsoothing that sucks. Pour the wine, close the door on them and have some time to yourself! Even if it means shutting yourself in the bathroom for a while. Wishing you well in your treatment. Flowers

I’m on taxi duty for my teen so no wine for me tonight. She’s working and probably won’t finish til the early hours. Planning on watching the Downton Abbey movie having just finished the series - I’ve watched it many times, but not the film.

Just got back from a nice afterschool play date with 2 DDs. Making a lazy dinner of bacon wraps and having a glass of wine. DH is working a night shift so hoping to get the kids into bed early and then watch some tv.

I don't find Friday nights as relaxing as I used to as I'm self employed so there's no "off" switch anymore.

That's the thing with technology as well, when you're self employed, you can't escape work as easily

Love the lazy dinner, I'm making my dd's noodles and taking her upstairs with it x

Absolutely nothing.

We were all up for 5hrs in the night with my stepson, who apparently fancied sleeping for 2hrs at bedtime then 2hrs just before school.

He’s at his mums tonight, so it’ll be takeaway and very early night here!

😄😄 my dd does just that, she's a nightmare with sleep. As she has asd, it's pretty typical but still exhausting! 😩

Log fire on, takeaway and wine with my husband whilst he watches the first match of the Six Nations and I get stuck into my new book! Heaven!

mamaduckbone · 31/01/2025 20:34

I met Dh after work for one drink that turned into 3 - pretty much done dry January so the wine tasted GOOD!
Pizza was as supposed to be homemade but ended up takeaway from our very lovely local pizzeria.
Now, I'm in my PJs and Oodie, stove is lit, coffee, chocolate and 6 nations rugby on the TV.
Pretty much a perfect Friday night.

I am so sorry you are having to go through this and that your DH is such a useless lump. If you were my friend I would come and get you and take you out for a glass of wine away from it all xx

Rosesanddaffs · 31/01/2025 20:37

Drinking wine, eating crisps and watching the worst witch with my daughter 😂 xx

shellyleppard · 31/01/2025 20:37

My original plan was to have a couple of glasses of wine but now..... trying to calm a nervous teenage son. His filling has fallen out so emergency dentist in the morning......🫤

YiayiaP · 31/01/2025 20:44

Husband got home at 4pm - been to the local for a couple of glasses of wine; ordered a Chinese; caught up on Come Dine With Me; now watching TOTP2 relieving our youth!

Mb57 · 31/01/2025 20:49

Drinking red wine remembering my husband on his Birthday, he died 17 years ago. I don’t normally drink but the wine tastes so good and if he was alive that’s what we would be doing anyway

AttwoodBerryDee · 31/01/2025 21:13

Read this thread and remembered that the rugby has started so just switched that on. I've had a fucking rubbish week with a savage infection. I am feeling very sad and grumpy and I am pushing away lovely DP because of it even though it's not his fault. I won't see him til next Friday now either.

DS is not feeling well. Other DC out at a sleepover so we're planning to get into bed soon.

I'd murder a gin and Tonic but I'm on strong antibiotics because of said infection for at LEAST another week and a half 😪

RudbekiasAreSun · 31/01/2025 21:15

Mumsnet, fb, a website with reading, kindle reading, my husband cooks the dinner, my daughter made a roblox video
