Got my new freezer today - already dented it trying to move it into the kitchen 🙄🙄

Despite the fridge, I'm quite cosy and happy - trying my best to stick to my diet and not eat any of dd's sweets 🤭

I’m cooking dinner while waiting for DH and DD to get back from her club. We’re having chicken peperonata with cheesy garlic potatoes.
I’ve had a long week at work, so I’m quite looking forward to taking myself off for an early night with a mug of Horlicks and a PG Wodehouse book before getting up early to play tennis tomorrow.

Had a really hard week at work, went out for an early tea bumped into my best friend which was lovely but come home had a raging row with DH, we’re now sitting in silence 😞 I’m going to take myself off to bed soon I cba with his shit!

Going to curl up on the sofa with our two dogs, infront of the fire, enjoying some red wine and a horror movie whilst my DH is working away.
Just not sure which movie to pick yet.

Watching telly waiting for a particularly nice (bought) meatloaf to cook. Then eating, watching more telly, having a bath and going to bed!

Not seen my DP all week due to work, so will be driving to his later 😊 few drinks , takeaway and bed.

Eating out... but in. Kind of fakeaway...

ribs, garlicky chips, onion rings, halved grilled tomatoes and corn on the cob dripping in butter. £6 each as opposed to £25! And it all goes in the oven, so dead easy.

Trouble is we are all knackered, so doom scrolling for a bit...

Horrible week of work, but currently steak and wine. We're off to Malaga for a long weekend tomorrow, so I also had to pack and sort my plastic bag. Dh has spent ages ironing things, but I've just bunged all mine in the case. Dd at Uni messaged to say she has toothache, but has made a dentist's appointment. Looking forward to sun, sea and tapas.

DH should be back from Tesco any minute, I'm cooking fajitas for dinner. Then tv and an early ish night. It's been a long week. DS2's football match has been called off tomorrow morning so we don't need to get up early, so I'm hoping for a long sleep!

Was going to be drinking wine but put it down as little 'un's O2 sats have dropped a bit tonight and he was not quite himself when he got home from school, hopefully they will settle at 95-6% and stay there. Just about to make a frothy coffee instead.

Early night for me and my DH. Both absolutely shattered, been an awful week all round, mental health breakdown (me) and elderly parent having to be admitted to hospital (his).

Lucky DS (17) and DD (11) are kind and understanding. They are going to watch a film with popcorn then take themself off to bed when it's done.

So ready for this weekend. This week can do one

Reading, taking DS to/from Scouts, more reading! Maybe watch Nightbitch if I'm not sleepy.

Many years ago, in my misspent youth, I made my own edibles, in the form of biscuits. I took a couple with me to immigrant school (language and culture learning) one day (to make it more entertaining) and one of my classmates saw my biscuits and asked if she could have one. She couldn't speak English, I couldn't speak Russian, and we both had very limited Finnish at that point so I couldn't explain to her why I shouldn't give her one, and I didn't want to be rude and just say no, so I ended up giving her one. They were pretty mild so hopefully she didn't get too much of an effect, but she never asked for any of my snacks again.

I'm sat in a bar in Egypt with a glass of wine (which is reminiscent of communion wine), having a lovely time people watching and mildly judging my fellow tourists, while painfully trying to learn Arabic with the lovely bartender who keeps my glass topped right up and has a bottomless well of patience and good humour.

It's a hard life.

(It normally is, which is why I'm allowing myself a small amount of smugness at my current good fortune)
