Felt intimidated by person delivering my post

I was in the bath, when the doorbell rung. My bathroom is next to my front door. They then knocked aggressively. Went around the back, did the same thing. Then they came back around the front and started banging on the windows. I live in a small house and could hear it. This felt distressing to me especially since I didn’t know who it was. Got out the bath saw the sorry we missed you so knew it was the postie.

Could it have been your neighbour banging on your windows because Amazon had dropped the parcel off with him after maybe trying your door with no answer? I sometimes get neighbours parcels when they are in and I take them round which is a bit annoying considering they are already sat at home waiting for it but it's not their fault so I'm not aggressive or anything but round here Amazon delivery drivers don't tend to stand around banging on every side of the house, they just want to deliver and move on so it's more likely it was your neighbour trying to get your attention wasn't it

No it wasn’t my neighbour. I was in all day and my dog barks when there’s someone at the door so if they had tried to deliver to me in the first place I would have known. They try your address first then a neighbours. (To clarify I have never experienced this before and I don’t have them down as a safe place but I can’t imagine them delivering to someone else to give to me and not my own address in the first place). The only person that came to my door was the person that banged on all my windows.

And you wouldn't have complained at all, not said one iota about having had to rearrange a delivery if the helpful, enthusiastic but alas unknowing-about-28 driver had returned it to the depot? All it probably would have done is delay this thread by 24 hours.

If any of this is real, actually even if not, I really hope you contact your CPN/GP/mental health provider tomorrow and advocate for yourself. It cannot be a pleasant way to live and you're taking it out on others. Absolute strangers who face undeserved consequences because of your unhealthy actions.

No, I would have preferred for it to be redelivered. I don’t want anyone banging on my windows or door unless there’s an emergency

Ah just saw this, I think you've tagged me a couple of times but haven't caught them all. You'll note, once you've calmed down, that I commented on your actions, not you as a person. I am not the one calling people names.

Lovelybitofsquirrel3 · 29/01/2025 01:31

You can’t use my mental health issues against me what the driver did was wrong even if it was to deliver a parcel

Yeah, hence the delayed by 24 hours remark...

Don’t try to act like the better person or condescend me any further. You just accused me of fraud and were laughing at me I found it very belittling behave like an adult this isn’t a school playground

I have had so many parcels delivered by Amazon and if they need me to answer the door to deliver it then they can take it away and come back the next day.
that’s their policy I’m aware of it they should have stuck by it I wouldn’t have complained.
what they did has caused me a lot of distress

It doesn’t matter if he was trying to deliver something. banging on my windows aggressively was not necessary and was never something he should have done. Yes I have experienced things that make me more sensitive to these things, so what? It’s not the way anyone should be behaving. It’s not what he should have done or was told to do in his job role when someone doesn’t answer the door.
using my mental health issues and disability against me when society set me up to fail and not be able to work is a low blow and not my motivation or agenda.

Not meaning to be rude but can I ask how society set you up to not be able to work?

No because it’s not relevant to the thread and will turn into a bun fight and is a whole big story in itself and speaking to you about it most likely won’t change anything

@Lovelybitofsquirrel3 no I'm saying that sometimes for whatever bloody reason I have had Amazon delivery drivers knock on my door to drop a parcel for a neighbour when the neighbour is in as I knock on straight away to give it to them and they are just as confused as I am why they didn't drop it at the correct address in the first place, this happens quite a lot btw. In my experience Amazon delivery drivers don't really care enough to stand around banging on every window and door when they can just give it to a neighbour and move on to their next delivery. I can see a pissed off neighbour doing that though if they know you are in but yet they are now left dealing with your parcel

From reading your previous responses, you've admitted that you feel vulnerable, you were maybe triggered by your past, your neighbours are drug addicts and you're disabled.......all things that an over enthusiastic delivery driver, won't know.

Time to admit that because of the above, you are being over sensitive and let this go.
Take a nice neighbour or friend with you and retrieve your parcel from 28 or alternatively wait for 28 to bring it over (which I don't think you want).

OlderGlaswegianLivingInDevon · 29/01/2025 10:51

So during all this knocking on the doors and windows your dog was barking throughout.

I have always found that I receive an email informing me that my delivery is on it's way, then I get updates and an eta.

So didn't you know you were having an Amazon delivery ?

and to accept a refund when you have been informed where your parcel is - is fraud as already stated, theft.

I’m not going to collect it end of. Banging on my door aggressively and then my windows was antisocial. I’ve experienced things in the past that made it scarier for me, but what happened would set off a lot of people’s survival instincts anyway.

Newbie8918 · 29/01/2025 11:16

@Lovelybitofsquirrel3 No. no it wouldn't.

Slightly irked....yes. Set off my survival instincts.....no.

Clearly you're looking for the most awkward way of resolving this. Do you want the scary, drug addict neighbours to come to your home to try and give you the parcel? It doesn't make any sense.

Anyway. You do you.

IHateBakedBeans · 29/01/2025 11:23

Survival instincts?!

You've got to be joking.

Ok OP. You carry on as you are but you aren't going to get people to agree with you I'm afraid
