Felt intimidated by person delivering my post

Lovelybitofsquirrel3 · 28/01/2025 16:52

I was in the bath, when the doorbell rung. My bathroom is next to my front door. They then knocked aggressively. Went around the back, did the same thing. Then they came back around the front and started banging on the windows. I live in a small house and could hear it. This felt distressing to me especially since I didn’t know who it was. Got out the bath saw the sorry we missed you so knew it was the postie.

OP, for someone who is complaining about a person being "aggressive" when knocking, you are being nastily aggressive to people on the thread. Maybe time to take a step back from this?

28 is going to be fucking fuming when you don't go round for your pacel. It os supremely irritating when people do that. Waiting on thread 2 when he has been round banging on your door and "intimidating" you.

Jesus wept.

But aren’t you worried if you don’t collect yourself, your violent drug addled neighbour will just keep coming you yours to deliver it? I would think surely the first option is safer? 🤔

NovemberMorn · 29/01/2025 13:03

OP.
First I can well understand that the loud knocking, especially on windows, front and back, alarmed you, so take no notice of the people saying you are overly anxious....you are not.

I think Amazon gave you the wrong info initially, saying the parcel was still out for delivery (it clearly wasn't) and telling you it was a scam, (it wasn't)
The parcel has been delivered to No28, the person who you are wary of...and that's where it still is?
Can you get someone to collect it from them?
If not, if you have been refunded, just forget about it....the neighbour will either bring it to you, use it himself, or bin it...either way you have been credited for whatever it was. x

That's madness. Why were you deleted?!

I don't know. And I don't know why that was deleted either.

I've had two comments deleted, yet I've seen far worse being posted than I actually said!!! Madness!

Irritating.
On a different thread I had a post deleted for calling a raging bully ...a bully.
Sometimes free speech is curtailed unnecessarily, imo.

NotbloodyGivingupYet · 29/01/2025 15:03

OP I'm really sorry you are being treated like this on your thread.
Anyone banging on my doors and windows would scare me because who does that? Nobody I want to talk to.
You've explained over and over why it upset you. But you don't need to be particularly vulnerable to not want people hammering at all your doors and windows.
Keyboard warriors all seem to have landed on your thread. It's so easy to kick someone when they're down. They should be ashamed. You don't deserve that.

Lovelybitofsquirrel3 · 29/01/2025 00:38

You don’t get to say that, it’s not allowed on mumsnet and it is hurtful

So you lied to amazon by telling them that your neighbour doesn't have the parcel?
You do know that this could cost the driver his job don't you?

And the amazon seller will be out of pocket

Or have the parcel picked up from No28.

Amazon will not pay for that. The seller will have to if they want the item back.
No wonder so many small businesses who sell through amazon are struggling to carry on

Then he should strongly complain to Amazon and suggest they educate the drivers to be more respectable.
If a seller uses a delivery service that is lacking in some way, they either have to claim from the delivery service or put the mistakes down to losses.

missdeamenor · 29/01/2025 15:35

Knocking on bathroom windows is a bit excessive.

My postman makes fun of my surname.

Read the OP's posts. She didn't lie. It was Amazon who told HER that it hadn't been delivered. Then changed their minds.

Newbie8918 · 29/01/2025 17:49

@NotbloodyGivingupYet Amazon didn't 'lie'. The guys on the phone can only see what is currently in the app. The app takes a while to update. It did update. On the other hand, the OP had a physical card in hand from Amazon, who she was expecting a parcel from that day, clearly saying it had been left with 28!

No one is disputing that someone knocking on doors and windows to deliver a parcel is over the top but the reaction has been entirely disproportionate!

Bigfellabamboo · 29/01/2025 20:16

On page 2 I wrote Intimidated, frightened and you found it distressing? You need help for your anxiety!
And someone replied
What a harsh response.

Now 10 pages in, I think I was probably right 🤣

Ok. I didn't say Amazon lied. I said the OP didn't.

Newbie8918 · 29/01/2025 22:41

@NotbloodyGivingupYet ok I stand corrected. Amazon didn't 'change their mind' as you said, they gave the info they had at the time. OP actually had more current info in her hand!

Now OP knows it's next door but has accepted a refund, rather than collect it. Probably to the detriment of the trader!

My point still stands unfortunately.
