Kids back at school for 1st time since Xmas break

My primary school children have not been at school because they were ill then I was to ill to take them. The school do know this and were understanding.

I haven't left my house since new year . And I feel sort of scared of going out and starting life again. I feel like I just want to stay in. I don't want the hassle of public transport. The business of everything.

Were you always a Bitch, or do you have to work on it ?

I’m hardly a bitch because the OP’s story makes no sense. Too ill to stand and take her children to school but not too ill to care for a disabled 8 year old, no one to help her with the school run but several adult children, no money for a taxi but money for several takeaways. It just comes down to doesn’t give a shit and it’s OPs poor children who suffer.

It doesn't sound like you're coping well with parenting. The school will have done a social services referral with them having been off for so long (they have to) so hopefully you'll get some support from them.

How dare you say she is not coping well with parenting?? Absolutely rude, judgemental and uncalled for.

This has happened once I assume and she has been a parent for over 20 years. Don’t be a bully.

I appreciate you’re not well OP, but feel sorry for your dcs. Doesn’t sound like they have a decent, stable lifestyle. Sounds like your older ones have had it difficult too, hence their current issues.

Have you always called women who disagree with you such misogynistic slurs?

Haha
Its funny ffs
No humour with some Generations, at all.

Perhaps try not to be so nasty though. You say rotten things, people will think that of You too

Apart from this 3 weeks op, have your kids (all of them) attended school without massive breaks?

I'm surprised the school weren't able to help put something in place OP to enable your kids to get to school - did they send any work for them? It's clear it was completely impossible for you to get them there and it sounds like you are living in extremely difficult circumstances, have a huge amount on your plate and the complication of being housed relatively far from your kids school.

It wouldn't surprise me at all if there is further neurodiversity in your family that is as yet undiagnosed - you say you're already diagnosed dyslexic but to me your first post could be explained by ASD.

Your dd who is bipolar - wouldn't surprise me at all if she was misdiagnosed and has ASD, this is not unusual - the two are also frequently comorbid.

I think that there should be support for you from SS OP, not because you can't parent but because you are dealing with a lot of children with ND and MH issues and that is a huge amount for anyone to try to deal with. You shouldn't have to try to do it alone. It seems that you are though and tbh SS would hear your kids are ND and probably just step away and leave you to it. I know myself there is very little help out there for kids with ASD.

Being ND can make transitions hard and the world seem over whelming, but you have to do it for your kids. I would really recommend some loop ear plugs to help reduce the noise and giving yourself plenty of time so you're not having to rush. I bet once you get back into the routine of taking them it will get easier and you will be ok. Remember you did it before so you can do it again.

OP for what reason do your children go to a school not by where you live? Eg is it because of the SEN of your children? Or do you live rurally and in fact it is the closest school? Do you live in an area with oversubscribed schools and can't get into a nearer school? Or is it that the school they go to is a 'better' school?

Thank you . Just to confirm they are already back at school.

With the other stuff you said . There is stuff I don't really know about myself. Yes I have dyslexia and moderate learning difficulties. I went to a special needs school and I don't even know why . I just remember my mum telling me I'm going to a special school and a bus will pick me up from the house i never even questioned it I was just excited about ba bus picking me up . I never even questioned bit when I got older either.
There are signs though I think . Like I don't like being around people I feel very uncomfortable uts hard to explain.

Dd was diagnosed with personality disorder that was recently changed to bipolar. I don't know if ASD was looked into.

Who cooked and cleaned and did washing etc in this whole time you were ill?

Hohofortherobbers · 30/01/2025 18:18

This may have been answered already in your sea of excuses.
But do you have a husband, partner, mother, father, relation at all who is willing and capable?

I already explained this but will again .

I had issues with housing and was in temporary accommodation. This meant we moved a good few times. The one thing I wanted to do was keep the stability of school for the kids.

Also ds has autism and learning difficulties he had an EHCP and again I wanted that stability for him and he would not cope with the change.

the school really should have done more to help you. You were very ill and unable to get the kids there. The school should have stepped in. The LA should have paid for a chaperoned taxi (so your ASD child was able to go) it’s awful they never.
