Anyone else have a visceral reaction to the picture in the news of Axel the murderer

I’m not going to link or post his picture as he’s beyond evil and I can’t bear to look at him. I don’t want to be a grief vampire at all, that’s not what this post is about. I just wondered if anyone else has experienced such a response to it or anything else? I haven’t experienced it before

@UnicornWorld

Exactly this. What a stupid and self absorbed comment from @AlbertCamusflage

Irs probably one of the worst comments I've ever seen on here. Imagine taking a topic like this and thinking of an opportunity to show how clever you are.

No.

The stock photo was deliberately chosen because he looks frightening in that pose with is head down looking up. It’s meant to cause shock.

Absolutely right. That photo has been carefully picked to cause outrage. Just as the previous one, where he was a pleasant looking school kid was chosen to try to put a stop to riots. Before the trial we were meant to see a mentally ill Welsh child. Now the government have decided to go down the route of him being a evil psychopath with unknown terrorist intents, we get this one where he looks like the devil incarnate.

Does it really matter. Could we give it more than a day before we start talking about theories around photographs. It's just so inhumane
Op had a reaction to him because he's one of the most evil people we've seen in our society. End of.

TallNeckedGiraffe · 24/01/2025 19:28

No.

Weird that you don't...

Newfoundzestforlife · 24/01/2025 20:37

Yes, I feel physically repulsed by it every time I see it....He's like an evil crusty the clown gone horribly wrong.
I have to avert my eyes and scroll rapidly because it makes me feel sick and furious in equal measure.

Sparklybutold · 24/01/2025 20:37

I have a visceral reaction, he doesn't look human. Hate seeing his picture everywhere.

Can’t agree. It’s his mugshot. It’s standard to issue a mugshot.

Chicca1970 · 24/01/2025 20:38

He looks like a surly teen with a nasty attitude, as was evidenced by his ridiculous behaviour in court - this was gender based violence, hatred of girls & women make no mistake.

If I was a kid hearing about these awful events then seeing that photo, I would be traumatised - there’s no need for that mugshot to do the rounds anymore for a myriad of reasons.

Newfoundzestforlife · 24/01/2025 20:38

AlbertCamusflage · 24/01/2025 19:43

No, I don't "have a visceral reaction to the picture in the news of Axel the murderer".
I don't understand why he is worse than Kyle Clifford, the man who murdered three women and recently pleaded guilty. In fact Clifford's crime is more troubling since it is just an extreme example of the type of misogynistic hyper-controlling crime of violence that men perpetrate against women time and time again every fucking week, whereas Axel Rudakubana's appalling crime is profoundly untypical.
What exactly makes your reaction to an image of the killer so visceral in this particular case? could it be to do with the incidental facts of his appearance?

Do not even go there... ! 😡🤬

AshCrapp · 24/01/2025 20:39

I did, but only because I knew what I was looking at. I feel the same about all of the child murders in the press. There's just something insane about looking at the face of a person who could do something like that to little helpless children.

slimpicks · 24/01/2025 20:39

he looks like Side Show Bob - a classic psychopath

CagneyNYPD1 · 24/01/2025 20:40

I do understand your reaction @Newyearnewmewoooop

The image released is shocking. Everything about this awful case is truly shocking.

I was also struck by the contract between that image and the previous image of the schoolboy.

It is standard for mugshots only to be released post conviction. Do you really think the Daily Mail would have sat on that picture if they'd been allowed to show it?

IAmAWomanWorkingFromHome · 24/01/2025 20:44

he is repulsive. And the reality is that unlike many other evil psychopaths he looks like an evil freak.

As for the post up thread trying (and failing) to be clever, have reported it.

WinterMorn · 24/01/2025 20:52

dothehokeycokey · 24/01/2025 19:46

I saw the pic flash up on my feed yesterday and recoiled at how fucking scary he looked and then realised who it was.

Hideous excuse for a human. Let's hope he gets constantly tortured inside for a prolonged time

No, let’s not. We are better than that.

I'm certainly not feeling better than that.

NoEscapingMe · 24/01/2025 19:35

I need to put this in a gentle way. I don't think there will be many more pictures taken of him in the future. Criminals are criminals. Most are not child murderers and take great offence against those who are.I don't see him lasting very long. But yes. Pure evil. Those poor babies and their loving families. May they all have peace one day

Not sure about that. This child killer and rapist is 97 years old. He's been in prison for decades.

Well, hoping for torture and violence in prisons does none of us any favours, not least the staff that work there. I am trying to make sense of all this but I definitely know that more violence isn’t the answer.

I’m not better than that either. I hope he is in pain and fear for the rest of his miserable life and then I hope there is such a thing as hell.

Showrr · 24/01/2025 21:00

I understand how you feel OP. It's a grotesque picture of a hideous individual. I made sure I didn't look at the TV directly or BBC news on my phone to avoid seeing it. It must have given kids nightmares. It reminds me of that awful person who stabbed to death those two young students Grace and Barnaby and the caretaker in Nottingham. Dead behind the eyes, fucking utterly terrifying psychotic 'things', they're not human.
