I think you're talking about Game On, OP!

Yes! Rewatched it relatively recently. DP and I mostly watch nostalgic stuff.

Based on your list of what you’ve enjoyed I would recommend Spaced, The IT Crowd, Upstart Crow.

HRTQueen · 21/01/2025 12:57

Here We Go is really funny and easy to watch it’s in BBC iplayer

It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia on Netflix is very funny but skip the first series. The characters are egotistical and self absorbed, it isn’t gentle humour but very funny

student26 · 21/01/2025 12:58

SuperBro on Netflix is very funny.
Kath and Kim on Netflix too.

Tittat50 · 21/01/2025 12:58

Nighty Night on BBC IPlayer is one of the funniest things I've seen.

It is a particular taste. Very crude and vulgar but I find it hilarious.

MrsPeregrine · 21/01/2025 12:59

Friday Night Dinner is one of our favourites

Does it? I must watch!!

Man Down is brilliant - its just so ridiculous - also Greg Davis and has Rik Mayall (just before he died).

God sorry - I “copied” from a longer text I’d sent to a friend who is a Helena Bonham Carter fan and made a right hash of it! It was supposed to say

Man Down (with Greg Davies - first series has Rik Mayall)
The Cleaner (also with Greg Davies - first series is funniest IMO and has Helena Bonham Carter in one episode)

🤦‍♀️

Young Sheldon, since you loved Big Bang Theory?

Derry Girls

HeavySnowPlease · 21/01/2025 13:05

Brooklyn 99 is fantastic and I think you'd like it based on your list!

Yourinmyspot · 21/01/2025 13:06

My all time favourite!

The Almighty Johnsons - about a New Zealand family who discover they are the incarnations of Norse God's. Very funny.

Also, have you tried The Great on ch 4? About Catherine the Great.

Violetparis · 21/01/2025 13:10

Toast of London - the first episode especially is worth a half hour of your time.
Him & Her
Mum
Think they are all on iplayer.

Coffeeandwalnutcakes · 21/01/2025 13:14

I’d second The Middle, that is great once you get to know the characters.
Also, the Gilmore Girls is lovely.
After Life is funny and touching.

evtheria · 21/01/2025 13:16

The last 'new' comedy series I really enjoyed was English Teacher on Disney+.
I only gave it a go because I've loved Jordan Alvarez's skits on social media for a few years now, but didn't expect this series to be so well done, insightful, and witty. I can't wait for another season.

CenotaphCorner · 21/01/2025 13:18

Dad’s Army!

Brooomhilda · 21/01/2025 13:18

Schitts creek.
The other one.
Modern family.
Workings moms.

TimPat · 21/01/2025 13:22

Not seen this one mentioned so far, I really enjoyed Upper Middle Bogan.
