What is the most miserable biscuit in existence?

DH and I are not eating sweet stuff for January and today he commented that he was so fed up with it he would even want to eat a really crap biscuit, so we were debating what that would be.

He reckoned the worst biscuit would be a Nice biscuit, but I think I would much rather eat one of those than a Garibaldi.

Is there a biscuit even more disappointing, that you would be less likely to accept an offer of than a Garibaldi biscuit?

Oreos like brown dust
not even sweet

stampin · 18/01/2025 15:49

Are apple and blacurrant Jammy Dodgers being lumped in with the red ones for the purpose of this thread? They shouldn't be!

noblegiraffe · 18/01/2025 15:49

When people are talking about pink wafers, they surely don't mean these utter delights? I buy them in bulk (except in January 😭)

Pink wafer dipped in tea, like eating blotting paper.

WeWillGetThereInTheEnd · 18/01/2025 15:51

Fig rolls
Custard creams

Rich Tea, Garibaldis and Bourbon biscuits are lovely in comparison!

WooleyMunky · 18/01/2025 15:52

The rich tea.
The flavourless coaster of the biscuit world.

I'm with you OP, I love pink wafers!

They're Figs !

Of course they are! Good job I also love a fig 😆

Rice cakes. Are they actually a biscuit? Made for virtuous people who like to munch fresh air.

Surely not. They are no biscuit. Crackers maybe.

The only reason people eat them (like me) is due to intolerance to wheat. They are so sad I believe only those who have to eat them (and don't have a lot of other choice) , do.

PigglyWigglyOhYeah · 18/01/2025 15:54

I want all the biscuits. 😭

Low carb diet here.

Nairn oatmeal biscuits - original "flavour". A biscuit that succeeds in removing any lingering flavours or tastes that you may have in your mouth after a nice meal - a black hole of a biscuit taste-wise. For balance, the chocolate and fruit ones are lovely.

How dare you disparage the Garibaldi! If it's good enough for Gene Hunt, it's definitely good enough for me. My worst biscuit would be a bourbon because there are so many own brand versions that are horrible!

CeceliaImrie · 18/01/2025 15:58

I have never eaten a Lemon Puff and cant understand how they've evaded me for 47 years.

They're not that bad if you smother them with butter or cream cheese! Mind you, that might go against the whole reason of eating them in the first place (being healthy and all that!).

I can see the killer words "gluten free" at the top of that box. Guaranteed disappointment.

They’ve evaded me for 53 years! Not even on my radar!

The flavoured ones are alright, currently have a pack of sour cream and onion flavoured rice cakes and they are pretty nice. And the chocolate covered ones are good.

A plain digestive.
I’d rather eat a dry cracker.

You are out of your mind. Digestives are the best biscuits on the planet, possibly even the best food.

It is indeed! One of my favourite albums by one of my favourite bands

MarkingBad · 18/01/2025 16:01

What is this herasy?

There are no miserable biscuits in the UK!

I remember liking those as a child but when I bought pink wafers for my son he tasted one and refused to eat any more. Perhaps he's broken.

Now I love lemon wafers, they are delicious.

Here are ours. Clearly much loved as they are available in chocolate and vanilla as well.

Reminds me of that Simpsons episode where Homer puts a huge stack of toppings on a rice cracker... "...mmm and only 35 calories!"
