For the better, obviously.

Can be a thing, person, activity, place...anything really.

Mine is trig bagging. It's so much fun and gets you out there, to unexpected and unknown places.

What's yours?

I keep coming back to this 😂 It reminds me of "Why don't you grow food on your land?"

Hanging pans in my kitchen would mean crouching down to get from the door to the sink! Mine are stacked in a chest-level cupboard, though. I only knock them off the shelf once a fortnight or so.

I moved house from one with two pan drawers to one without. I can deffo relate to crouching on the floor trying to get one pan out. I dont need a torch yet, but hanging them is not an option.

Also the pp who had raised worktops and other stuff, yes, my last house we fitted the kitchen (hence pan drawers) and I had them put to the highest level possible. Its maybe 2 inches higher, but my back thanks me. No more crouching over to do any kitchen things. Love it. Will do same with this house when we fit a kitchen. And pan drawers.

Now that... is a fantastic idea!!

Brilliant!

Seconded! They are brilliant. With the right bag l now only take hand luggage on holiday as can pack so much smaller.

Where do you buy the packing cubes?

PoisedGoldBiscuit · 11/01/2025 11:17
  • having multiple family whatsapp groups for shopping lists, stuff to watch and errands to be done. It's been much easier to share responsibilities and keep track of lots of things in 1 place.
-Coverless duvets, an absolute game changer and so nice and cosy! But also cool in the summer. -C25k I've never liked running but now I don't hate it and love the feeling I get afterwards.
LBFseBrom · 11/01/2025 11:19

I've never heard of trig bagging. I will google.

rosemole · 11/01/2025 11:19

@SerafinasGoose so sorry to hear about your mobility problems. Peak bagging sounds a lot more challenging than the trig version so I hope things improve for you and you can get out there again.

Spiky massage balls. I bought them initially for Pilates classes, then my teacher said she always put 2 at her back for long car journeys so she can keep her back mobilised. Now I keep one in my bag if I'm going to be sitting anywhere for any length of time - can make all the difference to an uncomfortable/unsupportive chair

But micro plastics leaching into your food as it cooks surely? 🤔🤨

Ooer - with silicone too? Oh dear. That's why I avoided the ordinary plastic ones. 😟

Really very simple. 1 or more scoops of rice into the cooking bowl (scoop provided), wash rice (rinse with water a few times), fill with water to appropriate line marking in cooking bowl, turn on rice cooker, [life happens], rice cooker beeps announcing it has made perfect rice.

I used to make good rice in a saucepan (both long and short grain), but this knocks me out of the park in terms of quality and ease.

Just letting you know that if you have a vegetable steamer you can do rice in that too, same method put rice in a bowl just cover in water and steam for 20 mins or so.

What is it exactly though... hardware or software?

Looks like an AI ad to me!

Coverless duvet. So much easier to chuck the thing in the washing machine and not have to try and put the cover on after

Can I ask - what size drum is your washing machine? I have an 8kg drum and I bought a coverless duvet (4.5tog, I think) for when my son is back visiting, and I've been taking it round to the laundrette to wash. I would like to wash it at home if possible, but I'm not convinced it will clean properly in a domestic machine

I hear you! I'm now officially retired at 54 and regularly snooze in bed until 9.30am (bliss) especially if I've stayed up late reading into the small hours (more bliss).

After years and years of 6.30am showers and 7.30am nursery drops and 8.30am school drop offs, it is such decadent luxury to sit in bed with a second mug of coffee.

Absolutely this. Took me a while to get used to not having to be up at 5.10 am to fight for a parking space. Felt guilty at not being in work. Loving it now tho. The whole day of doing what I like stretching ahead. Bliss x

Shark spinning steam mop

Life changing for a house with a dog. No more carrying heavy buckets of muddy water or back breaking mopping.

This! I've just moved house and now have a pan drawer for the first time in my life!

I also bought slow cooker liners from Tesco during my recent trip to the UK - will be trying them out on Sunday!

I would never be without my slow cooker liners.

SleeplikeababyTonight · 11/01/2025 11:49

A 2 in 1 wireless vacuum and floor cleaner. It sucks up the water, so it doesn't just push dirt around, like my old steam mop. It is lightweight too, and really easy to empty! Love it!! It also refreshes rugs. 😍This makes my life a million times easier!

I hate being cold and have tried all sorts of things to help. I have fingerless cashmere wrist warmers ,an electric hot water bottle, heated throws and rechargeable hand warmers. All work well for the reason they were bought. But the definite best thing for keeping me warm over all is a top like this - unfortunately from Temu - but i do actually live in it on days when i dont have to leave the house.
i actually regret having to take it off when im going out . Thankfully it washes and dries quickly .its made of thin shaggy fleece which is the same both sides which helps with the warmth factor.

OK don't get excited but it's just literally a button that gives an extra spin. It's not obvious at all. I read it on here, googled it and tried it for my Bosch machine.

So when clothes are still wet, previously there wasn't an option for me to get them drier without an extra spin. It had to be rinsed too. Was long and annoying. I didn't want the clothes to get wet again.

That was it 😂

My Samsung Ecobubble has a 14 minute spin only that you can use to get extra water out of the clothes without them being rinsed again x

My Meaco dehumidifier. Holyshitballs lol

Yes!!! I’ve had piles upon piles of washing for years (not the same piles, obviously..) but my meaco dries things so quickly that for the first time ever I’ve got piles of lovely clean laundry and a nice dry house. Sooo much time and effort saved 😁

A suction tool for kickboards? Ours have been pushed in. Would they work to bring them back in line to the front?

Yes!

Daily exercise is essential

What forms do you do? And (genuinely meant, not being silly) how do you find the time?

I work and have two primary school age kids and daily exercise would mean getting up at 5am to fit it in before they wake at 6.30 (DH works shifts and they have clubs too so every evening is accounted for or if at home I can't leave them in alone)

Thighdentitycrisis · 11/01/2025 12:29

A night driving tip from one of the roadside assistance groups that popped up randomly on Facebook. When a driver coming towards you hasn’t dipped their headlights focusing on the left edge of the road as far ahead as you can until they have passed helps keep your road position right and prevents you being dazzled. Find night driving on country roads, which I do a lot of, so much easier now.

Can't believe you weren't taught this when you learned to drive! I learned on country roads so maybe that's the reason why... but my instructor was very clear about it.

LostittoBostik · 11/01/2025 12:35

@Resisterance it runs an electrical current through your brain

Some good evidence that it works. I keep meaning to get my DH to try it out
