What would you do with it?

Stop worrying about the next year and a bit of school fees. Go on a summer holiday this year.

StrawHatLuffy · 06/01/2025 21:28

Buy as much land anywhere in the country that I could.

GreenSkyes · 06/01/2025 21:39

I'd pay off debts, put some aside for DC, pay for a trip to legoland for kids in the youth group I volunteer with and I'd go to uni. Couldn't afford to retain otherwise.

Mingenious · 06/01/2025 21:44

50k off the mortgage, pay off some debts, have an amazing holiday!

SallyWD · 06/01/2025 21:44

Spend about 20 to 30k on the house and put the rest towards the mortgage

mondaytosunday · 06/01/2025 21:49

I have a mortgage of exactly that.

Disgustin · 06/01/2025 21:54

I would pay off our credit cards not much maybe 5k over two of them. We have a holiday to vegas coming up so it would be good to have some extra spends not really have to think about what we are spending.

Then £25k for me to do what I want with £25k to my husband to do the same.

DrMadelineMaxwell · 06/01/2025 21:54

Keep 25k to top up my savings. I have an ok (teacher) pension and we have no mortgage.

Give 25k to each of my DC to help them towards a deposit.

NordicwithTeen · 06/01/2025 21:59

Fix my roof and side wall.
That might not actually cover it...

Theimpossiblegirl · 06/01/2025 22:06

20k each to my girls towards getting on the property ladder.

Pay a chunk off the mortgage and a holiday/bit of work on the house.

Sadtosaythis · 06/01/2025 22:06

65k off mortgage. 10k on a special holiday.

Bettergetthebunker · 06/01/2025 22:10

Nothing exciting. It would just get invested eventually after rattling around the account for a while.

MustBeGinOclock · 06/01/2025 22:32

Pay mortgage off definitely

Dillythedallyduck · 06/01/2025 22:33

Ooh I wish!!
I'd pay off my mortgage £35,000
Then £10,000 fun now (holiday, house things, spa weekend)
£10,000 into DC university fund
£20,000 into premium bonds.

MerryTraveller · 07/01/2025 06:08

This happened to me! I paid off the max 20% of the mortgage, and the rest is waiting in a high interest account to pay off another 20% next year. Then I need to see a financial advisor.

Amazing! Good for you 😊

25k for me, which I’d put into premium bonds, and 25k for each of the dcs, to put into their premium bonds until they need to buy a house.
