Does anyone else still feel in the midst of Christmas and going with it…

Granted I don’t go back work until

next week and appreciate that’s not the same for everyone but is anyone else still hanging out in there Christmas PJ’s, having a daily cheese board and luxurious mid day bubble bath and saying fuck it to a glass of fizz at 4pm?

I can’t be the only one?

I’m not (sadly) however I was wondering the same thing earlier. I see the line “there’s 12 days of Christmas” on here a lot and wondered if after New Year’s Day any one is still in full Christmas mode?

VictorianChic · 02/01/2025 20:57

One of my Facebook friends had a turkey dinner just now with her kids because she wants to make the most of the Christmas period. The pic was lovely with the tree in the background.

But I’ve had enough. I went back to work today and that’s that for Christmas 2024 for me.

SabreIsMyFave · 02/01/2025 21:03

Well I don't start work again til the 7th January, but I am in 'normal,' post-Christmas mode now. Took all the decorations down today, and the tree, and the lights, and the house looks lovely and clean and tidy again. Some Christmas food left, but not much,. We didn't buy a lot really. And most of it that's left has many months on the shelf life - like nuts, cheese savouries, and pringles etc. So there is no rush to eat them. Restarted my diet again today too. Glad to re-start to be honest. I am starting to feel quite rough from all the crappy (high sugar/high carb/high calorie) food!

Me! I've just had a bowl of Christmas pudding as a snack ans am washing it down with a glass of fizz.
Xmas will end on Sunday for me (back in work on Monday) and I'm going to continue to enjoy it until then 😀

Eldermillennial2024 · 02/01/2025 21:16

Yes! I'm enjoying not having much to do and eating Christmas biscuits.

ForgottenPasswordNewAccount · 02/01/2025 21:19

Full Christmas mode here

Just finished a box of celebrations and pringles for dinner washed down with a large whiskey and ginger in front of the darts.

Not back to work until 7th so full steam ahead with Christmas here

DGPP · 02/01/2025 21:21

Me. Still eating leftovers and not proper meals, still having time in PJs. Back at work on Monday

LostGhost · 02/01/2025 21:31

I'm not back until the 13th but the tree is coming down tomorrow and we're kind of at the end of christmas. The Christmas candles are still on though and i'm still in festive pjs

YouMustBeTheWeasleys · 02/01/2025 21:36

Not back at work until Monday but definitely not still in Christmas mode. Xmas decorations came down on the 30th.

The last two nights we have had dinners from our usual rotation and I have made a conscious effort to eat a normal breakfast and lunch - DH told me earlier he has gone off cheese and pate for the foreseeable. We are both back at the gym.

To be honest this is generally why I don’t go back to work before the 4th January at the earliest. I need time to dechristmas without having to deal with work and all that entails.

Motheranddaughter · 02/01/2025 21:38

Back to work on Tuesday and will be cracking on until then

tillytoodles1 · 02/01/2025 21:43

No, I'm glad it's over, as Im a widow with two adult kids and one almost adult grandchild.i live by myself and only get to spend Christmas Day with them, then I'm on my own again. Seeing all the adverts with huge families around the table having loads of fun just makes me sad.

Proteinbananas · 02/01/2025 21:44

So when people on here go on about it still being Christmas until the 6th, are they literally just talking about food and alcohol? Not judging cos I like both but I've often wondered what magical Christmas stuff is happening up til the 6th that apparently can only happen after Christmas and not in the run up to...and is that it?

Theunamedcat · 02/01/2025 21:45

I feel more festive after Christmas than I do before

CurlewKate · 02/01/2025 21:46

We're always in varying degrees of Christmas mode until Epiphany!

Rosesgrowonyou · 02/01/2025 21:46

I'm still eating Christmas chocolate and biscuits but even though I'm not back at work until next week, Christmas is definetly over.

CandlesClementines · 02/01/2025 21:47

Full on here it started Xmas eve for us so definitely in full throttle..

OurDreamLife · 02/01/2025 21:47

It’s Christmas until back to school next week.

Mumofyellows · 02/01/2025 21:50

We went away to Germany for a few days over New Year which was brilliant, back today and sorted the house out, took decorations down, all washing done. Not back to work til Monday so now going to enjoy 3 days R&R before the madness of a new Term. Definitely just had after eights for dessert but am on a booze ban for a while after a few too many German beers and cocktails, so no fizz for me for a while!

Sadsister224 · 02/01/2025 21:51

I wish. I've worked throughout.

MiniPumpkin · 02/01/2025 21:54

Yeah ! Me! I worked Xmas week and in between Xmas and ny, so now I’m off till 13th Jan. sitting here drinking wine, got crisps n dip watching virgin river. I may get the pate and sausage rolls out soon 🤣
although I must admit I’m worried the tree needs to cone down soon..

ForgottenPasswordNewAccount · 02/01/2025 21:54

Disturbia81 · 02/01/2025 21:57

I like to get it all away and done on the 1st BUT you enjoy yourself, life is short!

gettingolderbutcooler · 02/01/2025 22:00

Christmas is dead to me now.
Until next December.

HermoniePotter · 02/01/2025 22:08

Christmas is long gone for 2024 for us and normal service has resumed. I popped over to SIL’s today at 2pm and she was happy in her Christmas pj’s with her platter of cheese, pate, grapes and crackers watching Elf. The children were in jammies, wellies and jackets playing in the snow. She’s refusing to give up Christmas until Sunday 😂

Maddy70 · 02/01/2025 22:10

I live in a country where we have another Christmas on 5/6th jan. Still very much Christmas here. Off to the Christmas market tomorrow
