I have never held a violin in my life but I am completely certain that if I had one in my hands I could play the theme tune to Black Beauty with a virtuosity that would make lifelong musicians weep with envy.

Please don't tell me why this might not be possible.

That someone will give me a huge amount of money and I'm not allowed to spend it on myself, but I can give myself a decent wage out of it. What I can spend the money on is redeveloping the market town I live in. When I drive past places I imagine how I'd improve them with the money, which charities I'd support and how I would improve the parking. Sad, I know.

LisaJohnsonsFacebookMole · 02/01/2025 19:38

Mine is that I'll meet the perfect person, marry them, have a von Trapp size family whilst travelling the wild like the Wild Thornberries and somehow never be stressed about paying bills or the like.

That I can sing, particularly when I’m belting out Think Twice along with Celine. My family tell me differently, not always with words; sometimes the visible flinch gives them away as well

I'm a very good singer as well. I used to do a very good Singing Dido Bird. My friend Colin used to say, "You sound just like her. Very shrill but flat at the same time. It's amazing."

Bearsinmotion · 02/01/2025 19:40

I used to be able to fly, and probably still can, I have just forgotten the technique.

I could totally see you premiering Adele Anthony, MorrisZapp. Totally.

Oh I could give her some tips 🤣

I do that too! I know where I'd put up suicide awareness and prevention measures, the training and skills courses I'd run, how I'd run a free fresh food market, have a care service for childcare, elderly persons, vulnerable adults, where I could rent out v cheap houses where people can save for deposits for their own places. I'm in a "deprived" area. There's a lot of good round here, there's just not much hope. Some simple strategic points of help so that some cycles can be broken.

That ballet is my natural calling in life and all I need do is put some point shoes on and away I'll go. I'm a size 28 and I can't walk, much less dance.

AustralianCrunch · 02/01/2025 19:46

I am convinced every month that I will win an Omaze house.

wastingtimeonhere · 02/01/2025 19:50

In my head, and im convinced...

I'm a martial arts expert worthy of tv opportunity of Cobra kai..
I'm a brilliant singer, could do a concert
I could pick up a guitar and do a riff worthy of recording
I could do an iron woman race...

I'm 58, with no music background whatsoever ( was asked to not bother with the recorder group aged 10 by teachers)
I'm not particularly fit either.. but I am a beginner in a martial arts club..😆

wastingtimeonhere · 02/01/2025 19:52

Brings to mind...
I'm playing all the right notes, but not necessarily in the right order." ~ Eric Morecambe.

Oldenpeculiar · 02/01/2025 19:55

I'm convinced I'd make a very good police officer, and posses the qualities in buckets that society needs in good ones.
In reality I'm about as much use as a wet paper bag in emergency or aggressive situations, and have about as much physical prowess as one too.
There'd be no criminals caught on my shift unless they walked towards me already wearing handcuffs 🤷🏼‍♀️. Even then I'd probably hide 🤣.

Thank God for people not like me doing jobs like that!

You live in Corsica?! ignores point of the thread
Is there good scuba diving? How expensive is it to eat out? Just filling, semi-nutritious eating out, not the fine dining stuff.

I've never gone scuba diving or any other type of diving because I have a phobia of fish unless they are dead and I eat them on my dinner plate. There are lots of diving schools here though and from what I hear, it is quite wonderful.

I've kind of lost touch with dining out prices since Covid but I would say that it's between 12-14€ for starter, 17-25€ main, 6-8€ dessert. You could find a menu for 20-25€ but obviously it's a bit smaller portions/things left off.

A wood oven pizza from the van costs between 12 and 16 euros. A kebab from my friend Said is 10€

Espresso coffee is 1.40€, can of coke/soft drink in a bar can be anything between 2.80€ and 3.50€.

People always say that Corsica is expensive but I have to go to Marseille quite often and I don't find it any cheaper.

I live in the north of the island and the south is different. Bastia is quite cheap.

That the only thing stopping me from being a runway model is that I'm barely 5ft!

LisaJohnsonsFacebookMole · 02/01/2025 20:00

@KnopkaPixie thank you, very helpful. I've screenshot it for my travel folder.

I'm convinced that I'm going to do something amazing one day. I'm not sure quite what yet but it will unfold one day.

If I ever met Patrick Grant (Sewing Bee), he would most likely beg me to leave my husband so we could elope together

Unlikely as I will already have left mine for him and we would be halfway to Gretna.

I used to be a pretty good gymnast, I'm pretty sure that even now, in my 60s and double the weight I was then I could still do it.

Rewis · 02/01/2025 20:13

I could totally run a half marathon right now if I wanted. I get tired just walking up the stairs but half marathon is totally doable.

Oh and I know everybody loves the coast and the beaches but my favourite region is La Castagniccia and a wonderful restaurant is Chez Elisabeth in La Porta. Nearer to me is Chez Edgard in Lavatoggio.

Chez Élisabeth:

Chez Edgard:

Edgard beats to his own drum though and may or may not be open.

Er, that was for you @LisaJohnsonsFacebookMole

Me too! Everytime I watch ballet I'm convinced I could do it and actually be really good. I'm short overweight menopausal and never danced a step in my life.

I don’t buy a lottery ticket very often, but I’m always surprised when I don’t win. Genuinely surprised.

Part of me is convinced that if I ran onto a springy gymnastics floor, I could just do a brilliant tumble run. I have never even done a somersault.

Same to the first part! 😅 Genuinely shocked I don’t win on the rare occasions I play, have it practically spent in my head :)

I love this and think anyone (me :)who has had the sheer pleasure of watching unbelievably talented prima ballerinas up close has fantasised about this. Their grace, musicality & skill is super human! 🩰💕

I can't wait to win the Lake District house, which I definitely will when the winner is announced tomorrow.
I'll try not to come back and gloat when I do.
