Scenes in films or TV that never fail to make you laugh out loud

Watched 'Romy and Michele's High School Reunion' last night with DCs and the dance scene still absolutely cracks me up.
Reminds me of what the posters on the MN Strictly threads call contempo waft 😆

Which film or TV scenes do it for you?
Links welcome!

Different episode (I think), but same series.

Thanks! I'm getting old...

my son (26!) and I happened to watch a M&W compilation last week and were both laughing all the way through.

So much of Morecambe and Wise. The sketch with Shirley Bassey singing Smoke Gets in Your Eyes. I don't know how she kept going. She deserved her Damehood for that alone.

And the two of them singing Bring Me Sunshine always raises a smile for me. Not laugh out loud funny, just feelgood.

I remember M&W doing a play what Ernie wrote 😄.
Ernie had a line "My Lord, I have a long felt wont",
Eric looked towards the camera, and said nothing, absolute genius.

I’m going to cut your heart out…with a spoon!

UnhappyAndYouKnowIt · 02/01/2025 19:19

Oh my gosh, in Airplane, there's a scene where the stewardess wants a woman to calm down, so she shakes her and says "Get a hold of yourself!".

Then Leslie Nielsen says "I'll handle this" and then shakes the woman and slaps her telling her to calm down.

Then the camera pans left and there's a line of passengers waiting to try to calm her down through increasingly violent means, including a nun with a baseball bat.

Leslie Nielsen as Lt. Frank Drebin in the Naked Gun. The baseball game, where a spectator shouts "Hey, its Enrico Palazzo!" and the camera beems him up.

42isthemeaning · 02/01/2025 19:46

Airplane! All of it Airplane 2 when William Shatner is on a big screen, then reveals it’s a door by walking through it.
Frasier - most of it but I love Daphne’s line, “He was a detective you know!”
Father Ted “I hear you’re a racist now, father?” And the river dancing with Graham Norton in the caravan.
Most Steve Martin films
Naked Gun - Leslie Nielsen’s deadpan is hilarious. Love the initial scene where he fights all the world leaders and rubs off Gorbachev’s birth mark, declaring, “I knew it!”
Parks and Rec “Get on your feet!”
Schitt’s Creek!
As you can see I could go on and on!

PrincessHoneysuckle · 02/01/2025 19:58

Stepbrothers when will ferrell rubs his balls on the drum kit

frockandcrocs · 02/01/2025 19:59

Mitchell & Webb- the one where one's a brain surgeon who keeps saying 'it's not brain surgery though, is it?' While the other is a rocket scientist who was running late.

You see the punchline a mile off, but it cracks me up every time.

If we are thinking of radio, Jeremy Hardy singing Thank you for the music in I’m Sorry I Haven’t a Clue.

Victoria Wood - most of her stuff really, but particularly the All the Trimmings Christmas special with the WI (in the style of ER), Brief Encounter, and the Ann Widdecombe song.

Phineyj · 02/01/2025 20:14

If we're allowed radio, then the episode of Hut 33 with the regimental pig!

I watched Planes, Trains and Automobiles the other day and the bit where they wake up together in the motel room.. “those aren’t pillows!!” Hilarious. Also when they then stand up in horror and start talking about the football game in butch voices. Brilliant.Grin

One of my favourite movies 😊

The prank on Rachel in Friends when 'Ross' falls down the stairs - hilarious!

Especially as the prank was real on JA 😊

evtheria · 02/01/2025 20:29

I always say this: The IT Crowd when Jen goes out on a date to watch a musical (a gay musical called Gay!) when at the end, after everything that's happened, they turn around and it's Moss behind the bar... I couldn't breathe for laughing.

Parks & Rec, when Ron is manning the front desk and an irate citizen is trying to speak to him, but he simply revolves around in his chair as she tries to run around the table to keep up.

A recent kids cartoon one: Gravity Falls. Mabel has this flying dolphin thing...? She shouts "Onwards, Aoshima!" as they're hurtling through the sky, and it unfolds huge muscular arms, etc, but then the hands on the arms open and a car alarm rings out. Really reminds me of the good old cartoons we had in the 90s-2000s.

@PromoJoJo omg this was tv gold!!!!! Such a shame David guest died.

LoveACoffeeMorning · 02/01/2025 20:54

Blades of Glory ...loads of bits but classic is Will F holding up his dance partner by his crotch, it's the look on his face.
Some Like it Hot...Watch that corkscrew, all of the scenes with Osgood and Daphne, the way Jack L (Daphne) runs up the beach when playing ball...so much in that beautiful film.
The out takes of Anchorman 2 and the jazz flute.
The silent fight at a funeral in The Other Guys, the Captain ( Michael Keaton) is totally sublime in the whole film ...part time job at Bed Bath and Beyond!
Woody Allen in Sleeper trying to sit on a wobbly chair...lots of bits in that film are LOL

This made me chuckle- my German grandmother LOVES the Faulty Towers episode The Germans 😂

ChessorBuckaroo · 02/01/2025 14:54

Major in Fawlty Towers has me in fits every time. Fawlty: "think please, think!". Major: "what was the question again?"

Father Ted, hundreds of scenes.

Life of Brian probably has more laugh out loud moments than any film I can think of. "I was blind and now I can seeeee..."

Yes! The Major: “I don’t know why I bother, Fawlty” “ Didn’t know you did, Major”

PerspicaciaTick · 02/01/2025 21:42

Reeves and Mortimer doing Slade. Specifically Bob as Dave Hill.

Bob Mortimer in just about anything, but his story about Chris Rea running him a bath with an egg in it on WILTY is one of the best 5 minutes of comedy (with David Mitchell's response ) you will ever see.

I just love his reaction to that story as it goes on and on 🤣 and all of his stories come to that especially the wacky ones that actually are true but sound so bizzare! And there's a fair few.
