What are you doing for NYE?

This afternoon, we will take our toddler to the park and maybe grab a drink in the local pub.

Then it'll be home to get the kids to bed and a Thai takeaway in front of the telly.

Me and hubby have made vision boards for 2025 which we are going to "present" tonight.

I will be in bed for 10 as with a toddler & 3 month old, I don't have sleep credits to spare unfortunately 😂😂

What are you doing?

Absolutely nothing, it’ll just be a normal night at home. Adult dc’s left yesterday, Christmas decorations have come down and we’re looking forward to a week of doing whatever we want to before going back to work next week. I doubt we’ll still be up at midnight, but we’ll be very happy and content.

How big are the vision boards ?

I’m hoping it’s at least in PowerPoint!

Kashmiri24 · 31/12/2024 06:50

I'm a nurse and setting off for a 12.5 hour shift in a bit, so when I get in tonight, I'll have a cup of tea and maybe some cheese on toast. If I can last until midnight, I will, and I might even make the effort to walk down to the beach to see the fireworks. Either way, I'll be in bed just after that, and up again before dawn tomorrow to do it all again.

ThejoyofNC · 31/12/2024 06:52

What's a vision board? Like a DIY eye test?

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 31/12/2024 06:52

Easy day, follower by working 10pm - 6am for the rest of the week.

Weesiewoo · 31/12/2024 06:52

We are just about to head to the pub down by the beach for dinner. They have 8pm fireworks . Then a the big group of we are with will head back to ours and we will have dessert and a swim. Pushing 30 degrees here.
It's the first year one of our teenagers is going to a mates. Feeling a bit sad, but hey ho. She's gotta make her own life.
Happy New year from the other side of the world. 7 hours away here!

Tuftykitten · 31/12/2024 06:52

In transit, thank god.
Will bypass it all.

DH and I are taking it in turns to go to the gym/swim and do a family swim in between.

We’re having nibbles and a bonfire at a friend’s round the corner tonight. I doubt any of us will make it to midnight.

Itsallgonesideways · 31/12/2024 07:26

Giving the house a deep clean in the am & then off to watch Paddington in the afternoon. Then home for an easy dinner of grilled fish, potatoes and steamed fish. We've had a few days of heavy celebration food so looking forward to something lighter.

LuckysDadsHat · 31/12/2024 07:27

Nothing. Will be asleep by 10pm and it will be amazing after a manic Christmas.

BCBird · 31/12/2024 07:30

Watching re runs of Favin abd Stacey with mate whilst eating nibbles. Treat it as a inormal day

Biroclicker · 31/12/2024 07:30

Well NOW I'm going to be wondering what my DH would put on his vision board. I suspect it will be a year of eating upf pringles on the sofa.

workingmumguilt · 31/12/2024 07:31

Off to the cinema this afternoon with DC then home for dinner and normal bedtime for them.

DH and I will make a curry and watch some tv. Unlikely I’ll be up until midnight.

We used to party with friends each year but the last couple of years we’ve not been invited anywhere (despite hosting the last time we saw them all) and tbf I don’t care that much. Sleep and contentment is my priority!

Crackers4cheese · 31/12/2024 07:33

i might watch a bit of Kevin and Tracey Wink

bittertwisted · 31/12/2024 08:23

I feel with the current atmosphere in my house a 'vision board' who not end well 😂😂😂

pilates · 31/12/2024 08:26

What is a vision board?

CromwellsCrumpet · 31/12/2024 08:26

Might go to a day disco with dc's. Then maybe a museum and home to watch the fireworks on the TV

MsPug · 31/12/2024 08:33

A day disco @CromwellsCrumpet ?? I'm down for that!!!

icebearforpresident · 31/12/2024 08:35

Working for a couple of hours then home early afternoon. Will probably have a nap because I had a terrible sleep last night then might see if When Harry Met Sally is on iPlayer - I watched a bit of it last night before going to bed and want to see the end. Pizza for dinner once the husband is home then a few drinks and bad Scottish NYE telly until the bells. The kids (11 & 9) like staying up now as well so we do party food about 10pm, nice bits from M&S.
