What are you doing for NYE?

This afternoon, we will take our toddler to the park and maybe grab a drink in the local pub.

Then it'll be home to get the kids to bed and a Thai takeaway in front of the telly.

Me and hubby have made vision boards for 2025 which we are going to "present" tonight.

I will be in bed for 10 as with a toddler & 3 month old, I don't have sleep credits to spare unfortunately 😂😂

What are you doing?

A good clean of the house.
Normal dinners, an afternoon snooze so I’m awake enough to collect DS (he’s 18 - first new year celebration as we don’t do anything) from wherever he ends up at god knows what time.

Mydogisamassivetwat · 31/12/2024 08:40

Jack shit as usual.

God, I’d love some friends!

Catsmere · 31/12/2024 08:44

Enjoying peace and quiet! Time was I had horrendously noisy neighbours, and NYE was hell on earth. I would catch an overnight train to Sydney and come back the next night just to escape it.

I'm going to take doggo for a walk in a bit and then spend the rest of the day on the settee watching crap on the TV. Early night tonight and then see what massive, amazing things 2025 brings tomorrow morning (haha!).

Iliketulips · 31/12/2024 09:08

Getting together with two other couples for a drink around the fire pit then heading inside for games, drinks, food, talking nonsense and the conga. We've known eachother for years, but started doing it since kids left home - so be warned you get a new lease of life as you get older.

Treemules · 31/12/2024 09:15

We are meeting friends this afternoon for a walk and play in the woods. We’ll then go back to theirs to drink some wine and eat lots of food whilst the kids hopefully play together! We’ll walk home probably before midnight but will see how the evening goes!

Doyouthinktheyknow · 31/12/2024 09:17

Absolutely nothing. I’m working tomorrow all day so quiet day and quiet evening, bed by 10pm.

This year hasn’t been great so I’m quietly sighing with relief that it’s over.

We're going to the cinema mid afternoon, then for dinner and drinks. The plan is to be home by 8ish to curl up in front of the TV an and watch The Split. The dog will be going crazy because of the fireworks so it won't be that relaxing!

GameOfJones · 31/12/2024 09:22

Today we are just running errands and giving the house a good clean.

We are going round to friends this evening who all have kids a similar age for some drinks and party food so I'm looking forward to that but I imagine the children won't last much past 9pm as their usual bedtime is 7.

Home to get DDs in bed and then DH and I will share a bottle of fizz, stay up to see in the new year and watch the fireworks and then will be straight to bed ourselves.

Kim82 · 31/12/2024 09:23

I plan on walking into town with dd10 for a look round the shops and she can spend a bit of her Christmas money then when dh gets home from work later this afternoon I’m going to nip and get my nails done. Back home and will make a curry for tea then a night in front of the tv. There’s only dd17 who has plans tonight, she’s going to a party at a friend’s house, the rest of us can’t be bothered doing anything. I do have some wine in the fridge in case I decide I want a glass later but I might not bother.

SecretWitch · 31/12/2024 09:25

My husband works the overnight so I'll be partying by myself tonight. By partying I mean eating Doritos and watching Dirty Dancing.

Happy 2025 to everyone ✨

troppibambini6 · 31/12/2024 09:26

I'm going to muck out the kids rooms which will probably result in a trip to the tip. We have a table booked at a Lebanese place at 6 then home for a games night til midnight with my mum and the kids. We usually have a party but recently moved in a house that needs renovating and all our mates are on holiday.

EastLomond · 31/12/2024 09:40

We are having a party. Just a small one with a few friends. I shall be making food, and there will be drinks.

I think It is the last year I shall do it.

I say that pretty much every year, though.

mamaduckbone · 31/12/2024 09:43

Dinner with close friends and our younger dc (15 and 14) who aren't old enough to go out yet. Older dc will be out with friends.
We're hosting this year so there's some prep to do today. It will be quite chilled, but we'll stay up until 12 to see the new year in - usually ends up being quite a late one. We've been doing the same thing for years, since the dc were little, so it's a nice routine

Drreamingthedaysaway · 31/12/2024 09:50

Making puddings this morning and then driving a couple of hours to old friends where 8 of us (4 couples) who’ve known one another for 40 odd years will eat , drink, talk non stop and play games and see in the New Year together as we’ve done many times before.

ZippyCat · 31/12/2024 09:51

Nothing normal day for us watch tv eat few drinks maybe then bed

clary · 31/12/2024 09:52

I’m at work (quickest-ever commute this morning) then DD has friends over thus evening for pizza and games. Ds2 is away at a party and ds1 is working till 11pm and then needs a lift home, so all in all it will be quite sedate!

Might make a yummy Thai green curry with some new curry pastes I’ve bought. Then will have a glass or two of fizz at midnight.

PositivityVibes · 31/12/2024 09:52

Walk, food and I intend to be in bed by 11 Glitterball

NotaRealHousewife · 31/12/2024 09:55

Cleaning the house and making stew for steak pie. Happy Hogmanay!

Sheknowsaboutme · 31/12/2024 09:56

Working today
chinese take away
bed well before 12!

AlexandraJJ · 31/12/2024 09:56

I’m going to a Gatsby ball. Been far too long since I did anything on NYE which I prefer to Xmas

PheasantPluckers · 31/12/2024 09:56

Nothing! It's the first time in quite a while, so I'm looking forward to it!

I'm working at home during the day, then plan on making DD's favourite dinner and maybe watch a film together and/or play some games. I'll definitely be finishing the rest of the cheese and crackers, quaffing champagne and watching the fireworks on TV.

FlowerP0w3r · 31/12/2024 09:57

Going to a lights trail at 6pm, was debating whether to bring DD to a fireworks display at midnight but the weather warnings are putting me off!

sonjadog · 31/12/2024 09:58

I'll be at home with the dog. I used to go out on NYE, but since getting a dog, we stay in as it would be unkind to leave him alone.
