What are you doing for NYE?

This afternoon, we will take our toddler to the park and maybe grab a drink in the local pub.

Then it'll be home to get the kids to bed and a Thai takeaway in front of the telly.

Me and hubby have made vision boards for 2025 which we are going to "present" tonight.

I will be in bed for 10 as with a toddler & 3 month old, I don't have sleep credits to spare unfortunately 😂😂

What are you doing?

Getting my eyes tested later this afternoon, then I will pop in and see my elderly parents, have dinner, drop dd16 off to a NYE party, go back home and more than likely snooze on the sofa and then pick up dd sometime after midnight.

Such an exciting life.

purplesmiler · 31/12/2024 10:01

I am working today and on call tonight so it is very low key for us, maybe a family game later and a curry for tea. If I make midnight I have done very well. DD is still young so may have a later night but will be in bed for 9.

dontforgetme · 31/12/2024 10:05

We were hosting an NYE party but after various illnesses in our family and friends circle we decided to cancel yesterday. We are heading to one of our local pubs for dinner at 6.30pm then will come home, open the Christmas Day bottle of fizz that never got touched, play some games and have a little kitchen disco just dp, the kids and I.

I've promised the kids a day of pjs and unlimited devices until it's time to get ready later. After a very crap norovirus Christmas I think they deserve it, I'm usually very screen time strict! I'll be doing a couple loads of washing and cleaning the house before it's time to get ready this afternoon.

Happy New Year. Hoping 2025 is kind to us all xx

When I wake up in hopefully eight hours from now, I'll have a shower and then clean the house with DD. We'll probably watch a bit more of Parenthood. Early dinner with DD, DD's BFF and DS at my mum's. Then the kids will go to their parties or whatever and I will snuggle up at home and watch whatever catches my fancy on Prime or Netflix with a glass of bubbly in one hand and snacks in the other. Then bed.

catlovingdoctor · 31/12/2024 10:10

Hopefully asleep or at least resting in bed as I have a morning flight back from holiday tomorrow morning.

Mydogisamassivetwat · 31/12/2024 08:40

Jack shit as usual.

God, I’d love some friends!

Hopefully this is the year 🙏🙏

UpUpUpU · 31/12/2024 10:16

Taking down Christmas and cleaning the house today, nap this afternoon before my 12.5 hour night shift tonight.

it will be the first midnight I’ve seen in years 😂😂

butterfly0404 · 31/12/2024 10:17

Plans cancelled, I've got flu. My DH plays in a band and I was going along to the event at a nice pub, buffet etc. I'm absolutely gutted. First NYE I'll have spent on my own in 58 years :-(

Arraminta · 31/12/2024 10:22

Having a dull day sorting out flat tyres on both our cars (what are the chances?). But then getting dressed up and meeting friends for cocktails & curry at a local hotel. Then back to friend's house to see in the New Year with bubbly.

raspberryripplecheesecake · 31/12/2024 10:23

Working till 5, baking a cake then cleaning the house before heading out (with cake) to a friend's to bring NY in with younger DC.

Wishing you all good health and happiness for 2025

Thaiyogamassage · 31/12/2024 10:29

I'm still well into the New Year cleaning and clearing of the house. I removed so much crap from the kitchen yesterday that there's an echo in there now! I will start dds room today (wish me luck) then we'll get some party bits from Tesco later and try to make it to midnight.

Foxlover46 · 31/12/2024 10:39

Me and the dogs will be on the sofa with snacks , Pepsi max and I'll be watching at his country re runs on iplayer I think

Tortielady · 31/12/2024 10:46

We have a dripping tap to fix and I have an Xmas-set murder mystery to finish. Chicken for me for supper, with veggie equivalent for DH, left-over latkes and coleslaw, followed by fruitcake and Wensleydale cheese for supper. We don't usually go to bed early, so will probably see the New Year in. Happy 2025 everybody 🎉

CharSiu · 31/12/2024 10:48

We are going to a friends that lives a couple of miles away on the top of a high hill. She is making dinner and I’m bringing the starter and sides. She has an amazing view of all the fireworks going off for miles. I am not drinking so am driving and on the way back picking up DS who is at a house party.

I am meeting a friend for lunch and a short hike tomorrow. DH has just returned yesterday late from dropping his Mother back from her Christmas visit. It’s a long drive and he has just spent 3 days doing DIY for her so will be resting all day.

Shergill15 · 31/12/2024 10:53

Taking DD9 to the cinema and a look round the shops this afternoon. Home late afternoon/early evening. Takeaway tea then tv probably, only the 2 of us. Will probably have a glass of fizz to see the New Year in and head to bed as soon as the noise from everyone's fireworks has stopped

ellebelli · 31/12/2024 10:56

Working till 3 30.
Gym and dog walk
Booked a table for 6 30 in a one of the local pubs so coming back home after meal..
Probably in bed before midnight.

Is a vision board some sort of euphemism for some particularly acrobatic sex act?

SabreIsMyFave · 31/12/2024 11:26

Local village pub! They have a party there - free food and a music act, (and a disco from 10pm.) Not free booze sadly! 😆

Will go there around 8pm. Luckily it's 7 minutes walk, so we don't need to worry about transport!

SabreIsMyFave · 31/12/2024 11:28

What on earth is a vision board by the way?

Dinoswearunderpants · 31/12/2024 11:30

Nothing now as little one has a temperature. This year has been hell so no surprise it's ending on a low.

MoonWoman69 · 31/12/2024 11:35

DH has been to the supermarket to get me another bottle of champagne (the first one I'd had for years, went down very nicely on Christmas Day! With fresh orange juice!)
So it'll be that, an Indian takeaway and Jools Holland on the box! I enjoy his Hootenanny far better than being in a crowded pub!
Those days are well and truly over for us, far too much hassle going to the pub or parties!

🤣🤣🤣

StormingNorman · 31/12/2024 11:52

Catching Gladiator 2 at the cinema before it goes off - and probably Pizza Hit for dinner. We only have it when we go to the cinema.

Not feeling a big one tonight.

crackofdoom · 31/12/2024 11:55

Friends are having a little fire in their garden, and a potluck dinner (it was going to be a bigger fire somewhere else, but downgraded due to the forecast). I do not know if we will stay until midnight, depends on the 9 year old.
I wouldn't mind getting some sparklers- do you reckon the supermarkets are selling them?
