Boris Johnson has treated women with contempt or worse in his private life. Spent much of his mayoralty 'bonding over a love of Shakespeare' as his then mistress put it.

The political objections I have to the policies of Sadiq Khan are the closure of police stations and my belief that the Underground and bus service could be better.

Didn't the majority of police station closures happen when Boris was mayor? I'm sure I've read that somewhere.

I know the Director of the National Gallery, who's been knighted - he's a lovely man, and his parents are very proud of him!

Someone I know professionally and have worked very closely with has got a CBE this year.

They are the worst narcissistic bully I've ever met.

Ditto. And in m y case he and his wife are pretty shockingly awful social climbers who treat their staff like shit and cosy up to people in clubs they wish to join.

Perhaps if Beckham (and I know he's not the only one..) stopped propping up the Saudi countries and also being so bloody needy, he may have a chance.

Well, TFL less than good management isn't evil*, and I avoided mentioning Boris and women - I'm not sure that qualified as evil abuse, like Pelicot. Goodness knows what they see in him, though.
*The thought of the reorganisation required is frightening. It can't be done piecemeal, so will have to be worked out meticulously to work perfectly from day one. Scarey.

I don’t know how much of the Sadiq Khan hate is coming from people who don’t even live in London, given that Londoners voted him back in. I wouldn’t agree with him on everything but he’s always seemed fairly sensible - in striking contrast to many in the last government. And most of the problems London faces aren’t really things he can do much about - ridiculous house prices, local authority budget cuts, high levels of street homelessness - all driven by central government policies. Someone said they disapproved of him because they thought the tube and buses should be better. Compared to what most of the country has, public transport in London is luxury standard!

I completely agree with PP that Kevin Sinfield should have got a knighthood. I think Rugby League isn't 'popular' enough. eg Matt Peet, Who as a coach who won everything possible at club level this year, unprecedented, should have been recognised. Maybe it's too 'northern'
