LOL OK 9.

This is why I shouldn't play games, I'm so competitive Grin

Miepmiep · 01/01/2025 18:57

Hmm… a meal that is made out of animal and vegetable but the animal part is neither cow nor chicken.

MrsTerryPratchett · 01/01/2025 18:57

But now it's 1s allllllll the way.

Vignoble · 01/01/2025 19:01

Question 9.5...

Does it also work as a place name, eg Branston Pickle?

(Sir Richard Branston and preserved vegetables?)

MrsTerryPratchett · 01/01/2025 19:03

Ooooo good question.

<google>

It is a place name, I didn't know that. It is also a surname, but doesn't come from that.

That's definitely 1 actually 2 so 10.

Vignoble · 01/01/2025 19:10

Question 9.75.....

Is the place name in the United Kingdom?

MrsTerryPratchett · 01/01/2025 19:11

Yes. But again, didn't know that.

rosemole · 01/01/2025 19:15

Ok let's establish the animal part.

A type of fish?

OP posts:
Miepmiep · 01/01/2025 19:39

A (probably) somewhat obscure place in the UK that is also a family name and a dish… I can think of one but I shall go and hastily assemble supper from last night’s leftovers and await the answer as to whether it is fish or not before I unnecessarily waste another question.

MrsTerryPratchett · 01/01/2025 19:40

Not fish but I think there was a water question so that one doesn't count.

rosemole · 01/01/2025 19:59

Is it sweet (yes) or savoury (no)?

OP posts:
MrsTerryPratchett · 01/01/2025 20:00

Savoury 12

rosemole · 01/01/2025 20:03

Is the animal part from a pig?

OP posts:
MrsTerryPratchett · 01/01/2025 20:03

No 13.

Vignoble · 01/01/2025 20:07

Is it Lord Hereford's Knob?

It is a name, a place name and 'Hereford' defers to a breed of cattle. I have also climbed up and sat on Lord Hereford's Knob and there are a lot of flowers there which would fulfil the vegetable criteria.

No, 14

And to clarify, it shares a name with a place and surname but isn't a place or surname.

Miepmiep · 01/01/2025 21:07

If it isn’t fish, that rules out my guess of Cullen Skink 🫤

Is it a sandwich of some kind?

MrsTerryPratchett · 01/01/2025 21:09

Hmmm there is a clue I could say about Cullen Skink but it would be a dead giveaway...

It's not a sandwich. 12.

MrsTerryPratchett · 01/01/2025 21:10

Oops 15.

rosemole · 01/01/2025 21:10

Is it usually served hot?

OP posts:
MrsTerryPratchett · 01/01/2025 21:13

Yes 16

heldinadream · 01/01/2025 21:15

Lancashire hot-pot?
Newcomer to this game here. Coming in with almost undoubtedly wrong guess but dying to get in! 😂

No problem! No.

rosemole · 01/01/2025 21:18

I was going to guess a kind of stew but MrsT said she hadn't heard of this as a place so don't think it's that.
Maybe we need a recap...I need to fetch my notebook!

OP posts:
MrsTerryPratchett · 01/01/2025 21:19

Not any kind of stew. I'll give you that one Grin
