Anyone else feeling really unwell?

Oh my, I started with a standard cold last week, developed into dizziness, chills and aches and constant streaming eyes and nose. I felt like I’d been hit with a baseball bat - back and torso were so sore

Now onto night sweats, green gunky cough, horrible sinus pain, continuing aches and shivers. Constant thirst. It hurts to wear clothes, it hurts to do anything. I’ve suggested cancelling Christmas lunch tomorrow but DH not listening. Had a full on sob on my 11yr old this morning.

Anyone else just feeling dreadful and fancy a moan?

I've been Googling (bad idea I know) and apparently it's not unheard of to get a bout of what is called 'reactive arthritis' after a bug, chest or throat infection. The symptoms are pain and sometimes swelling in the joints, lower back, pain and burning sensation in the eyes and tongue, you may a temperature, have urinary discomfort, or mouth ulcers. You will feel very fatigued. It's thought to be the body going into overdrive to fight the infection. The first line of treatment is anti inflammatory drugs like ibuprofen.

I've never heard of it in my life, but it does sound just like what I've got right now. After I was actually starting to feel better last week ffs!

I’m on week four now. I’ve had two lots of antibiotics to try and clear a chest infection but I still feel a tightness in my chest and have an awful dry cough. Just to add to the fun I now seem to have a cold/
congestion. I can just about get through work every day but haven’t done any exercise or anything exciting in weeks. I’ve just been on Holland & Barret website to order myself some immune boosting multi vitamins!

That’s interesting because I have that!

Interesting. After my second trip to the doctors they suggested something about ‘reactive pathways’ following a virus. Funnily I had fatigue and mouth ulcers. I’m mainly better now (but this started at the beginning of November!!). But I still can’t do any high intensity exercise without getting delayed fatigue and chest irritation. Definitely felt inflammatory.

That's interesting that an (actual!) doctor told you the same thing @Delatron. I've been taking ibuprofen every 4 hours today and it seems to be helping; apparently it's only a short-lived thing anyway.
