Without cheating have a guess which actress this house belongs to. Be kind though. www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/151160714

I would guess Rita Fairclough. It would suit that era.
Sorry I don't know her real name.
It's not to my taste but somebody will love it.

FrostyGlitter · 16/12/2024 20:36

Julie Goodyear (Bet Lynch) or Barbara Knox (Rita)

cushionfiend · 16/12/2024 20:37

Loving all the pink champagne next to the jacuzzi.

CyclingAddict · 16/12/2024 20:41

I was thinking, as others have said, a Coronation Street actress 😃

TitusMoan · 16/12/2024 20:42

I hope they enjoyed it, whoever it was. It’ll be bought and turned into a sea of white limestone flooring next.

Bathsarejustpeoplesoup · 16/12/2024 20:42

Someone who loved the 90s, that's peak mid-90s decor

dustyspring · 16/12/2024 20:43

Lots of leopard print, got to be Bet Lynch/Julie Goodyear! 😆

Sadly you're right. I love a nice carpet.

Hyacinth bouquet

healthybychristmas · 16/12/2024 20:44

Oh very interesting! Place marking to see whose it is. Hasn't Rita died?

AgnesX · 16/12/2024 20:44

Bet Lynch or someone a bit older.

Julie Goodyear (Bet Lynch) or Barbara Knox (Rita)

Yes, someone now older who bought and decorated a while ago. Looks like they would have loved the place and lived a good life there.

HaddyAbrams · 16/12/2024 20:45

I thought Bet Lynch too. Which makes no sense as she's a character not an actor.

MagdaLenor · 16/12/2024 20:45

Not to my taste, but it's a lovely house and obviously a well loved home. They once had horses, I hope the new people use the stables again.

I couldn't remember Julie Goodyear's name and just said Bet Lynch 😊

HPandthelastwish · 16/12/2024 20:48

Julie Goodyear, she's in her 80s now with dementia

Bellybootcut · 16/12/2024 20:48

Lots of you guessed correctly. It's Julie Goodyears house. It's quite fabulous isn't it. Love it when a house reflects someone's personality. Not to many people's taste I shouldn't think but bet (Bet!) she's loved it. I'm curious as to what the things on the sofa are? They look like balloons?

Julie Goodyear, if she is still alive. Is she?

Bellybootcut · 16/12/2024 20:49

Absolute decadence!

She is but has dementia

BruceAndNosh · 16/12/2024 20:53

It's got personality, and obviously a much loved home.
I assume the owner employed a full time cushion plumper.
How lovely to have a fireplace in your bathroom!

ChanelBoucle · 16/12/2024 20:55

It has a bizarre layout, with the main staircase leading to the main bedroom and en suite, but with a ma-hoosive bathroom directly opposite that must never get used because the main staircase only leads to the front rooms on the 1st floor.

I thought the same. And if the dressing room is used by whoever is in bedroom 1, whjch would be the usual expectation, they'd have to go from one side of the house to the other. Up and down stairs.

Although I thought Bet Lynch, I didn't realise the actress for her was so like her in style!

Bellybootcut · 16/12/2024 21:03

I like to think she's thrown some amazing parties in that house. So very sad she's ill now but she's definitely lived a life and that's reflected in that house....particularly the bathroom!
