Without cheating have a guess which actress this house belongs to. Be kind though. www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/151160714

I like to think she's thrown some amazing parties in that house. So very sad she's ill now but she's definitely lived a life and that's reflected in that house....particularly the bathroom!

Many a pound of the old marching powder was used in that mirrored gin palace by the looks! {No offence to the actress herself}

ghostfacethriller · 16/12/2024 22:34

Aha, sorry missed that it was Julie Goodyear's home!

Time40 · 16/12/2024 22:35

Gosh, her real style was exactly like her famous character's style!

She must have been a sweetie - a few years ago she sold off all the jewellery she had worn for her Bet Lynch part for a local charity - she even had signed certificates with photos made for everything. (I was quite tempted by the enormous earrings like birdcages.)

lesley joseph

oh! Julie Good year

Jackdog39 · 16/12/2024 20:31

I would guess Rita Fairclough. It would suit that era.
Sorry I don't know her real name.
It's not to my taste but somebody will love it.

That was my guess too

WillowTit · 16/12/2024 22:39

there is a door a bit close to the loo.

WillowTit · 16/12/2024 22:41

i should have looked further before jumping in, i didnt check the location for a start, let alone all the leopard print!

Mischance · 16/12/2024 22:43

The bath looks like hard work!

justasking111 · 16/12/2024 22:45

The leopard tiles in the main bathroom gave it away. Sorry she's poorly.

OnlyMothersInTheBuilding · 16/12/2024 22:48

Beautiful home, love that she knows her own style. It's very cohesive in that sense. I reckon she had a sharp mind like her character. Very sad for her and her family that it's time to sell.

Layout wouldn't bother me. I assume the large separate bathroom is the one with the jacuzzi, so wouldn't matter that it's separate.

Ellmau · 16/12/2024 22:51

Bathroom is dreadful, and oddly positioned, and the stableyard looks sadly neglected, but otherwise this is a very nice house.

SassK · 16/12/2024 22:51

Gosh I just knew straight away it was Julie Goodyear. Quite spooky really how many of us got that just by looking!

HoopLaLah · 16/12/2024 22:54

You can see photos of her on the wall in the office.

Justleaveitblankthen · 16/12/2024 22:59

Julie Goodyear.
Know what you've just been reading OP 😁

HereForTheAnimals · 16/12/2024 23:01

As soon as I saw picture 24 I guessed Julie Goodyear.

Survivingnotthriving24 · 16/12/2024 23:03

I feel cosy and nostalgic after looking at those photos! Sad to hear she's unwell.

UnderTheStairs51 · 16/12/2024 23:05

Julie Goodyear is from Heywood so I'd go with that

Real1378262 · 16/12/2024 23:14

I've seen this house on RM some weeks ago and knew it was hers!

Band E for that house though, ours is a higher band than that and nowhere near that size or amount of land! Probably the council will put the band higher when it's sold, that happened to us once, the sale 'triggers' the rebanding off.

A universe away from humble Corrie!

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 16/12/2024 23:22

Are we playing through the key hole.
Who lives in a house like this.🤣

Pallisers · 16/12/2024 23:39

It is a nice house - lovely garden. She should fire her estate agent. The photos would be so much better if someone removed the unnecessary crap from each room.

Real1378262 · 16/12/2024 23:43

Very true @Pallisers some 'staging' may have been nice. Thinking of all the commission the EA will get on a sale of that price too, you'd think it would be included!

SoupDragon · 16/12/2024 23:51

I love it. Dated? Yes, but it is clearly a loved home rather than a house.

Someone is going to ruin it.

SoupDragon · 16/12/2024 23:53

It doesn't need "staging". It's very clear what the house is like. Removing a few stuffed toys isn't going to change anything.

Fireworknight · 16/12/2024 23:59

The house has a lovely warm, welcoming feel to it. A much loved family home.

Mammawolf90 · 17/12/2024 00:08

@Bellybootcut how do you know it's Julie Goodyears house ?
