@APurpleSquirrel

"Meant to be going to Wookey Hole tomorrow & they've still not said they'll be closed"

I absolutely love Wookey Hole at Christmas with the circus shows etc. It's a brilliant nostalgic feel and our once a year trip there.

Enjoy !

We are also near Bath. I’d been looking forward to going to the market this weekend; I love it there.

The wind has picked up here now, and I’m glad we are all in for the night.

MrsSkylerWhite · 07/12/2024 00:02

Our yellow warning has been upgraded to amber, NW Lancashire coast.

North Peak District area... the wind is cranking up, trees are swaying and lots of creaking.

happinessischocolate · 07/12/2024 00:19

South coat (dorset) and was raining coming back from the pub but wheelie bins are still standing so I'm not sure why all tomorrows events involving lights and Santa are cancelled again

Wr never get storms, nothing the wheelie bins can't handle anyway

MessyNeate · 07/12/2024 00:23

Also on the Welsh coast, it's rough here

allthatfalafel · 07/12/2024 00:24

Barely a breeze here, not expecting anything significant since we're 3 hours from the nearest coast.

Moonlamp · 07/12/2024 00:32

NW Lancashire coast here. I just went to the front door and checked outside.....it's relatively calm and quiet. How odd?

MothToAnInferno · 07/12/2024 00:38

We are in the middle of the red warning now. There are trees down everywhere and lots of power outages but we are still OK. It's fair blowing up a storm, the poor dogs had to be shoved out the door for their pee before bed. Lots of banging and rattling from the roof so I've put some white noise on for the dogs so the noisy one doesn't spend the night barking at the storm.

mitogoshigg · 07/12/2024 00:42

I can hear the masts of the yachts chinking and gusts of wind, I'm right in the thick of it

Enough4me · 07/12/2024 00:44

In South Devon, v windy. Things blowing around my garden.

Zippedydodah · 07/12/2024 02:54

In south Glos here, NE of Bath (the 50 sheds of shite made me laugh, so very true!)
It’s raining but not particularly windy so far. We have woods behind us and I hate the sound of the wind howling through them when it’s windy, not because I’m worried about trees falling, it just makes me twitchy 🙄

Boohbooh · 07/12/2024 03:08

It's just blowing through the east of Ireland now. It's 3 am and I'm sitting in the local train station as my husband was at his work party and missed the bus ROLL EYES This storm was loud, unusually so I thought with some very strong gusts. There's significant debris on the road and a lot of water. I'd stay in and wait this one out UK, it's nasty.

BeardofHagrid · 07/12/2024 03:17

Very rough here in Hampshire.

frozendaisy · 07/12/2024 03:18

Woken to house making funny noises.

Sure it will be fine

feejee · 07/12/2024 03:29

My bedroom window is creaking. This side is open to fields so nothing (apart from some massive old oak trees which I'm crossing my fingers stay upright) to break the wind up. Long night ahead.

username299 · 07/12/2024 03:41

London - it's a bit windy.

GiveMeAbitOfSugar · 07/12/2024 03:48

Hope everyone makes it through the night as peacefully as can be and you all wake up to as little damage as possible

Crazycatlady79 · 07/12/2024 03:59

My fence has come down already, so fun fun.

Harshtruth1111 · 07/12/2024 04:08

South Wales
Very windy and noisy

NotProper · 07/12/2024 04:10

I’ve never seen wind like this. I can feel it vibrating the house. It woke me up. It’s really scary.

BigDahliaFan · 07/12/2024 04:11

It's very noisy here. I can hear wheels bins escaping hope it's not ours....

forgivingfiggy · 07/12/2024 04:13

East Antrim coast. Just woke us up. So we are having a cup of tea.

EggandStress · 07/12/2024 04:20

Berkshire.
It sounds horrific out there, but we're not in the red zone so really feel for those who are.
Hope everyone is ok.
I'm worrying about the neighbours tree at the end of our garden, but decided there wasn't much point standing at the window staring at it.

CeeJay81 · 07/12/2024 04:23

Mid wales. Very rough out there. Not looking forward to going to work later.
