West Wales here we have a few houses with power cuts some trees down wind still howling and a missing head of my reindeer lights. My neighour has no electricity a buckled trampoline lost many decorations.

Reading that too fast, I had an image of some kid waking to a Mafia-style severed reindeer head on their lawn... Christmas ruined... 😁

Pablova · 07/12/2024 11:06

It has mostly passed over Ireland,
Got woken at 2am by a really loud bang as something hit the landing window, garden is full of tree branches and debris.
The howling wind was very loud, I found the dog cowering under chair, had to move his bed away from under a window before he would get back in it.

Currently chucking down and passing gusts,

NW Lancs coast. Still blowing a hooley out there. Eucalyptus in rear garden bending practically in half.

I think it's passed us in Bath too.
Big old oak tree has come down in the back lane - luckily fell into a field and not across the road, but it's sad as it's been there forever.
Couple of small trees down elsewhere but that's it.
We were lucky here.
Bins located, so all good.
Cat hasn't ventured out or even woken up yet. Think DS1 slept through it in Cardiff too 😁

AdoraBell · 07/12/2024 11:52

We seem to have escaped unscathed.

Glad that oak fell where it did, even though it’s sad to lose old trees.

DD had a mild debate with her boss about the wisdom of opening the venue at the train station this morning, GWR train station.

Cluelesssanta · 07/12/2024 12:06

It's wild here in NE at the mo. I wasn't expecting much! I can hear a neighbour starting their car. I'm afraid my son can do without his usual tiger baguette for Saturday tea time bacon sandwiches 🤣 Thinking of anyone in the danger zones. Please don't venture out!

Same here. I'm on the edge of the Pennines in South Yorkshire and we don't have any weather wanings, just a forecast for wind and rain.

I will eat my words. It's blowing hard now Hmm

Ohtonightyoukilledmewithyoureyes · 07/12/2024 12:11

How is Cornwall?

Time4changeagain · 07/12/2024 12:12

Wind really picking up in West Yorkshire now

Ohtonightyoukilledmewithyoureyes · 07/12/2024 12:11

How is Cornwall?

It's a bit shit.

My fence has gone (again!!!) and it hasn't let up. Still 75+ mph gusts.

MrsSkylerWhite · 07/12/2024 12:35

Something’s just gone bang outside.

Dontcallmescarface · 07/12/2024 12:47

Around 10 miles west of Bath and it appears to have calmed down a bit. Just as well as the village is currently cut off due to fallen trees blocking both roads in and out. According to the local FB page "Chainsaw Charlie" is on it so should be cleared soon.

Something’s just gone bang outside.

My garden bin keeps banging, it's getting a bashing.

HelpMeGetThrough · 07/12/2024 13:11

And now some of the neighbours fence has gone. Amber warning is a bit of a bugger too.

Sheknowsaboutme · 07/12/2024 13:27

I swear, its worse now than it was when I woke up at 7. Its lashing down, hail, strong winds. Gusts.

and my friend has seen idiots on one of the snowdon paths. 😡😡😡😡

And some twat went swimming in the sea off Swansea this morning, resulting in a Coastguard/RNLI callout. There really is no word for that kind of stupid.

Gettingbysomehow · 07/12/2024 13:58

My two cats and next doors three cats are having a field day. The fence between our houses has come down and they are playing hide and seek out there. They all get on well.

Jabtastic · 07/12/2024 14:00

Sunny here now but still very gusty.

vodkaredbullgirl · 07/12/2024 14:04

I have one lab who wants to stay outside, the other is a wuss lol.

Crikeyalmighty · 07/12/2024 14:05

@Threewheeler1 small tree down on our back and our narrow road is leaf central - but I'm in bath shopping and yay - no Xmas market - !!

poppym12 · 07/12/2024 14:08

Bit gutted missing out on concert in Bristol tonight but it's only money lost I suppose. Can't believe it's going ahead as the surrounding area is still under an amber warning until 9pm.

We're Wales and it's definitely more windy now than it was this morning. Scarily windy

NeedWineNow · 07/12/2024 15:36

We're in West Kent. It was blowing a hooley and tipping it down when we came ouy of A&E at 1am this morning - I fell over at dance class last night and it was thought I might have broken my wrist (thankfully not, although I have got my arm in a sling). Branches were coming down on the road and there was quite a lot of surface water.

it was really from this morning but it seems to have calmed down a bit now. Just as well as we're going out to dinner!

crumblingschools · 07/12/2024 15:42

It's getting worse here and it was pretty bad before!
