I’ve just seen something weird in the sky.

Ddog is unsettled so took her out for a sniff in the garden.

It’s incredibly starry tonight, can see Andromeda Galaxy without binoculars.

As I was looking up at the sky an object blocked out stars and travelled very quickly across the sky, kind of below and parallel to Cassiopeia, east to west.
It had no lights, no noise, just a speedy thing that I only saw because i happened to be looking in the exact right place and it’s so clear tonight.

I have no eye conditions, so nothing medical to explain this.
It was too big and quick to be an owl or bat or any flying creature.

In terms of size, compared to a typical aeroplane size in the sky it was much bigger and rounder.

It was a ufo wasn’t it!

Most likely yes.

MarmaladeSideDown · 05/12/2024 23:40

Of course it was.

It was an object, it was flying, and you have been unable to identify it.

NuffSaidSam · 05/12/2024 23:42

Probably Santa (or an elf engineer) on a pre-Christmas test drive.

This is what makes me laugh when people say that UFO's don't exist

They obviously 100% exist

People make the mistake of thinking that ufo means alien. It doesn't. It's just an unidentified flying object which could be one of many things

pizzaHeart · 05/12/2024 23:44

Lost drone?

Changingplace · 05/12/2024 23:45

I do hope aliens find us soon, it can’t be any worse or more bizarre than what’s generally going on in the world.

Exactly.

Lost drone?

For it to be the size it was it would have been low enough to hear, so I don’t think it was a drone.

Secret government flying thingy, to prepare for war with Russia?

Well there have been interesting developments in hearings in congress recently. It sounds like they’ve basically confirmed that there are aliens!!

One of Elon's satellites?

TakingTheHorseToFrance · 05/12/2024 23:50

This is so weird. I live in Ireland. My 14 year old son came in from school at 4:30pm today and announced he saw ufo.... described a large object fast like a jet but no noise
... I inwardly rolled my eyes at him and now I've just read your post.... and now I'm like holy sh1t

Cactuslife · 05/12/2024 23:52

Could it have been a helium balloon closer to you?

Am reminded of the Galaxy Song by Monty Python 'And pray that there's intelligent life somewhere out in space,
'Cause there's bugger all down here on Earth'

Not travelling East to West in the UK at the moment, the wind direction is wrong.

The OP could be anywhere though.

I'm wondering where due to the clear sky!

thinking drone. It might have looked closer than it actually was.

OAPapparently · 06/12/2024 00:02

I saw a UFO when I was a teenager, so yes, it probably was!

No lights, I see starlink quite regularly, this wasn’t it.

Have you ever seen Uranus..? (sorry, couldn't resist)

WeGotCows · 06/12/2024 00:06

I’m in North Yorkshire.

Wind is going in the opposite direction.
It’s quite windy here too so I think a drone would be struggling.

The pedant in me wants to point out that it’s not visible with the naked eye 😬

I live in West Yorkshire on a hill, it’s absolutely a gale here. Nearly took my back door off . It wasn’t rubbish in the air was it? I mean u couldn’t stand outside in my garden it feels like it’s shaking my flat. Alexa telling me wind here is 53 km an hour so the fact you didn’t feel like you was being blown away in your garden is good.
