Does everyone have a TV in their bedroom?

Lost the signal to the bedroom TV. Might be the storms I don't know but can't get any channels, and have now removed the TV.

Seems abit strange, but have got the radio instead and Spotify.

Not sure I'm going to bother replacing the bedroom TV, might just do without?

Has everyone got a bedroom TV?
What are your likes and dislikes about a TV in your room?
Anyone like me, not bothered to replace?

Yes we do and we bloody love it. Doesn't affect sleep at all - in fact it helps me drop off.

SouthernComfortable · 04/12/2024 09:41

TV in bedroom (excluding health problems) is equal to having a milk bottle on the tea table rather than a jug. 😁

Cattery · 04/12/2024 09:45

Yep. Love it.

LastNightMyPJsSavedMyLife · 04/12/2024 10:01

Yes. I always fall asleep 10 mins after I start watching it though.

ItGhoul · 04/12/2024 10:05

I haven't had a TV in my bedroom since I was a student living in a house share.

NewBootsWeather · 04/12/2024 10:18

Yes.

Fabuloosaloo · 04/12/2024 10:20

Yes gets watched occasionally if one of us is feeling poorly and doesn't want to get out of bed or husband is watching football and I want to watch something. It's also a spare in case the TV downstairs decides to give up the ghost.

SwordToFlamethrower · 04/12/2024 10:39

Never have, never will!

HappyMe6 · 04/12/2024 11:12

Yep one in each bedroom one in living room . Love watching a good film at night if we go to bed early dosent impact on my sleep either I’m a seven hour night sleeper every night

RaraRachael · 04/12/2024 11:18

Nope - never had a TV in the bedroom and never will. I read in bed.
Never felt the need for one but then we're not massive TV watchers - don't have Netflix or any streaming services.

We're so common we don't have a tea table. We eat off the floor.

I've never had a TV in the bedroom and I am confident I never will!

GasPanic · 04/12/2024 12:11

People who don't have tv's, either in the living room or bedroom seem to be proud of it as if it is some sort of achievement IME.

I have one in the bedroom, high up on a full motion bracket so it can either fit flush to the wall or tilt towards the bed for easy viewing. It's great for watching stuff, especially late night stuff you might want to watch occasionally like sport, news, elections etc.

BeyondMyWits · 04/12/2024 12:17

Not here. I go to bed when I'm tired. Get up when I wake. Never really thought about having a TV upstairs.

GoldCat255 · 04/12/2024 12:28

A TV in the bedroom? Are we back to the 80s or some shit like that?
I can't of anything tackier and more demodé.

Why do you care what people think of you? Who would even know?

LikeWhoUsesTypewritersAnyway · 04/12/2024 12:42

Never. Not since I was about 15 and living with parents.

I think people who have a TV in their bedroom in a semi detached house are absolute arseholes tbh. Especially if the bedroom it's in is joined on to another bedroom next door.

Me and DH had to move house because of the noisy fucker next door having their TV blasting in the next (joined on) bedroom til 3am. Absolute cunt he was. We asked him if he could turn it down, as we are trying to sleep, but he said 'it's a free country.' (3 bed house but he lived alone, since his wife left him 5 or 6 years before.)

When we moved, a family with 4 children moved in. I hope they were the noisiest fuckers in the country, and woke him up with a jolt every time he was asleep!

I never have. I'm hotels it's nice to watch TV in bed but at home I'd much rather read.

I keep hoping that not having a TV in my room means my sleep is better.

Sparklyhat · 04/12/2024 12:46

Yes can't imagine not having a telly to watch in bed. No arial just a fire stick. The kids don't have one yet as they're both 6 and under but I had one as a child with a built in vhs player

caringcarer · 04/12/2024 12:49

I've got one in my bedroom but never use it unless I'm ill in bed.

Why ? I live in SD. I never have the telly blaring out late at night and I run the sound though speakers that are on the opposite wall to the party wall. I've never had complaints from my neighbours.

Gross generalisation.

Never had a TV in my bedroom and never would

I’m not tacky. I watch tv in the bedroom and I’ve got an honours degree.

FrenchandSaunders · 04/12/2024 15:09

Nope neither did our DDs when they lived at home. They never asked for one.

soberfabulous · 04/12/2024 16:34

Never had, never will. That includes watching things on a laptop or phone.
