Chris Evans after Gregg Wallace - too big to fail?

Should we be looking again at Chris Evans since the quite right disgrace of Wllace?
Switched on virgin radio and Chris had apiece about the North East and Hadrians wall on his allegedly topical breakfast show. Someone definitely keeping his head down.

I agree with Gregg taking a step back but is fine for Chris Evans to address behaviour in the past or is he too big to fail?

They’re precious, I should know I work with enough of them and will start an argument in the mirror.
and again innocent until proven guilty

I see. And what about the middle aged women such as Kirsty Wark and Kirstie Allsopp.

I am beginning to think you might not be posting in good faith, given that you have asked for media links, and I have provided media links, but somehow oooh, you need more to be convinced.

So I will leave you with one last link - and suggest that if anyone’s towel is dropping off their naked body at your work, you might want to consider that complaining about that isn’t really “precious”

Tatty-bye.

Thought that was a personal attack for a second, was thinking "how bloody rude!" 🤦🤣. Notes to self, do not try to MN and cook at the same time.

Fyi, I’m am not a snowflake, I don’t complain about things like that, I have a broad mind, a tough survival instinct and am not phased by things like this. Maybe it’s my generation maybe it’s an individual thing. But please don’t tell me how why when I would consider complaining. Trying to rape attack or kill someone is reason to complain, and go to the police in my eyes, and I have been in 2 of those positions. So accept someone else’s opinion, this is after all, still for the minute anyway, a democracy.

You seem to be hard of reading.

I am not talking about when you would consider complaining (currently picturing the Monty Python ‘tis only a flesh wound knight) but that it is not precious for a person to complain about nudity and flashing at work, whatever their age.

Anyway, must trip along and trap myself some dinner.

SheilaFentiman · 05/12/2024 18:31

What are you having for dinner, @AnAlpacaForChristmasPleaseSanta ? I’m having bolognese!

😂hard of hearing is the expression dear god. Off you trip..

Yes, sweetie, I know. That’s the joke. Because we are communicating in writing, not by speech.

HTH!

AnAlpacaForChristmasPleaseSanta · 05/12/2024 18:44

@SheilaFentiman Ooh I love a bolognese. Beef risotto over here and 🍷. With which I will toast your seemingly endless patience 🙂

"Banter is just that ..banter..harassment is different ..as long as it actually is harassment..one persons perception can be quite warped on the meaning of harassment..think nag by your partner..I asked once and I’m nagging..real nagging is repetitive ..as is harassment. Sorry I don’t think banter is reason to ‘call’ someone out on."

Jesus!! No. Harassment is in the eyes of person being harassed. The person doing the harassing doesn't get to say "oh it's just banter..."

I've been on the receiving end of so called "banter" it's not funny. It's done to embarrass and belittle. It's just bullying. And we tell our children (or at least I hope we do) that bullying is never acceptable

AnAlpacaForChristmasPleaseSanta · 05/12/2024 19:41

Yep same and for too long I thought it was my problem to solve by changing how I behaved (even though I was only ever just trying to mind my own business). Although according to some posters on here I should just have just lightened up or been flattered 🙄

Edited

I'm sorry it's happened to you too.

And yes, like you I thought I needed to change the way I acted. Tried to be more invisible so they wouldn't pick on me. It's only as I got older I realised these men were just bullying, sexually harassing arseholes and they absolutely deserve to be called out on their behaviour. And not just by their victims. But by their peers. Others who witness it. That's how it gets stamped out. By others saying hold on, that's not on

AnAlpacaForChristmasPleaseSanta · 05/12/2024 20:13

Thank you @tigger1001 and same to you 💐.

Every other part of your post is absolutely spot on and should be obvious, even to those who are determined to willfully pretend otherwise.

I have come to the conclusion that you could have a neon sign saying 'guilty' together with 300 hrs of video evidence and 3000 witness statement from highly regarded individuals as well as 15 previous convictions for the same thing and people would still say "ah well the BBC said there wasn't a problem" so I'm going to assume this one guy is an upstanding guy until some comes along with enough cash to fund a court case and a willingness to trash their own career completely and force a judge to tell the media company to cough up substantial damages before some people will go "well on the balance of all the evidence we do have here, I think we've probably got a problem with a individual and a institutional level of negligence and perhaps we should take it as seriously as if we did have an actual legal ruling".

All women are Cassandra. One bloke? Na. We should believe him regardless of how many Cassandras there are. Why? Well cos he's a poor victim of a bloke of course.

Never liked him in TV he gives me the creeps. Billy Piper was 18 when they got married he was 35.

Not sure when he first met her but she had her hit single at 15. Never seen any rumours about him online though.

It's so grim.
