Ha ha ha, someone at the BBC news website is having none of it.
Opening paragraph:
"Gregg Wallace has hit back at allegations of historic misconduct, saying they have come from a "handful of middle-class women of a certain age"."
Quoting the full comment:
"Now, in the newspaper I can see the complaints coming from a handful of middle-class women of a certain age just from Celebrity MasterChef. This isn't right."
"The investigation heard from 13 people across a range of ages, who worked across five different shows, one of whom was on Celebrity MasterChef."
Oh Greg. Gregg, Gregg, Ggreg. How hard would it have been to issue a polite statement of denial, saying that you look forward to the investigation clearing your name, and leaving it at that?
Or putting on a sad face and being contrite, saying that you're sorry that your humour wasn't well received and that you'll be more mindful in future. Sure, it's a shitty fake apology that a few men and most women will see right through, but it'd probably buy you enough grace with the right people.
But nooooo, you had to prove your unpleasantness and misogyny in the most public of ways. Good job!
