What a curious way to refer to Rod Stewart...🤔

I'm not a great fan of cancel culture, but this man needs to get cancelled back to the stone age.

I'm half expecting a self pitying sombre Piers Morgan interview within the next month saying he's been a victim of Woke Cancel ✖️ Culture (TM) and that this has left him s**cidal. Possible extra points if he tries to pin the inappropriate behaviour on some as yet Mental Health or as yet undiagnosed Neuro diverse condition

Whitekittensarego · 01/12/2024 14:39

He’s a twat.

ilovesooty · 01/12/2024 14:44

Greg and those like him. We are coming for you and we will cut off your balls shove them down your neck and hope you choke on them

Seems a bit unnecessary to advocate physical violence and criminal assault. He's being investigated and removed from scheduled programmes, and rightly so.

Tavaress · 01/12/2024 14:49

I remember some men when I started work being like this, they got away with it then and it was a long time ago and most girls joined in anyway.
About fifteen years ago it was then deemed inappropriate and one man actually got sacked, all of the girls in our factory and office spoke up for him and didn't want him sacked.
The woman he was involved with in most of the banter gave as much as she got and she got a final warning.
He never touched any of us and we thought it was harmless fun, he never said anything to the quieter girls or younger girls.

He’s not very bright or self aware, is he? Agree that his lawyer and agent will be choking on their eggs Benedict right now.

The production companies that employ him (Banjay, Endemol, Rumpus Media) are all still reliant on huge numbers of unpaid interns, desperate to get into the business. They know that as soon as they stop keeping the Talent sweet, they are out. Very hard for them to whistle blow.

I think it’s fair to say that GreGG has picked a fight with the wrong demographic.

For some reason this reminds me of when Tony Blair got on the wrong side of the WI and came off worst.

LakieLady · 01/12/2024 15:04

The worrying thing is on other social media platforms TT and FB he's being defended, people saying 'what about Carry On!' 'What's the country coming to', 'no one can take a joke anymore'

The early "Carry On" films also included jokes that were racist and took the piss out of gay people and people with disabilities, including learning disabilities.

I wonder if the people who think sexist humour and sexual harassment are fine and cite "Carry On" as a good example feel the same about the rest of what was seen as amusing back then?

Puzzledandpissedoff · 01/12/2024 15:06

Genuinely can't work out why some are surprised; he's been making ££££ for the BBC, so though they were apparently warned back in 2008 he's been left to carry on as he likes

It's not as if it's the first time after all ...

Aroastdinnerisnotahumanright · 01/12/2024 15:14

Were people watching his shows for him or despite of him though ?

republicofjam · 01/12/2024 15:19

Spectacular own goal by Greg.

I’m not going to repeat them here, but there has been rumours about H F-W for years.

Yes indeed!!

Yodabashi · 01/12/2024 15:21

The best thing Mrs grEgg W the fourth can do now is divorce him before the legal claims come in! And before (another) bankruptcy.

Rather proves the point that he's a misogynistic twat, doesn't it?

Exactly
The idiot obviously hasn’t heard of the old adage about silence being golden

republicofjam · 01/12/2024 15:19

Spectacular own goal by Greg.

Not really. He knows he's finished. All he's doing now is making cheap jibes. It can't possibly do him any MORE harm than he's already done to himself.

Doliveira · 01/12/2024 15:25

He’s using the Karen meme, I guess. Riding on the back of the misogyny already out there about women with voices.

supportcandle · 01/12/2024 15:25

Is he saying by a certain age, he thinks it should be obvious to everyone that there is no way he would bother to make remarks to those women because they are obviously too old for his taste? So they are lying?

I can see this happening.
The truth is that he is an arrogant misogynistic

dickhead who is as thick as pig’s shit

biscuitandcake · 01/12/2024 15:29

Actually, a certain amount of British humour does involve stupid word play, and is often a bit filthy. Inuendo can be very funny, it would be wrong to wipe it out entirely. But if everything does become completely joyless - then that would be 100% the fault of men like Gregg Wallace who use the "just joking" defence as an excuse to be vile for years and years.

e.g. - The inuendo around Samantha/Sven in "I'm sorry I haven't a clue" is funny. But, crucially, Samantha is not only "in on the joke" but doesn't actually exist. No 19 year old woman is being humiliated every week with comments about her personal life. If they were, it would be awful. Likewise "Carry on" isn't my cup of tea, but it is fictional. All of Gregg Wallace's "humour" was centered around humiliating other people, or making other people feel uncomfortable. And most of those people were in subordinate positions to him or in situations where it was harder for them to make a fuss. Its not clever word play, its just being a massive twat.

I've just looked at the misogynist potato's Instagram. How the fuck is he qualified to advise people on losing weight! Do they just have to spend time in his company until they vomit?

By the amount of posts of him in the gym, he clearly sees himself as some sort of desirable sex god who women (middle aged and otherwise) can't help fawning over. I'd have to paid good money to make any kind of, convincing, innuendo in his direction.

There's also a deathly silence from any one in celebrity land coming out in support of him. Funny that.

Unless you count William Sitwell www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2024/11/29/william-sitwell-my-mate-gregg-mouth-bernard-manning/

nauticant · 01/12/2024 15:46

What’s he alluding to? That middle class middle age women are just jealous because we want a bit of him? We don’t. We’d rather go without thanks.

It's 2020 thinking where all you needed to do was to call non-compliant older women "Karen" and you'd get lots of agreement on social media. Like Doliveira said.
