What temp is your lounge right now?

I'm going to cave and put the heating on, it's currently 14c in the lounge. We try not to put the heating on if home alone.

I'm wearing an oodie and have a blanket but my head and hands are freezing.

What temp is your lounge?

-3 outside this morning.

Downstairs temp is 14.4°, heating has been on for a hour since children decided to wake early this morning. Bedrooms still pretty toasty so washing etc has been comfortable.

16°C with the heating off since yesterday aft. Our house keeps the heat in quite well. An oodie type thing, a snood, some lined trousers and thermals keep me feeling warm enough.

pumpkinpillow · 21/11/2024 09:08

When I woke at 4am the lounge was 14.7
Our old boiler is pretty noisy so it's off during the night. I imagine upstairs is warmer and we def OK in our beds.
We put the heating on as soon as we wake and it doesn't take long to warm up - modern, mid-terrace. We (me 54 and DD 15) are healthy and fit so a bit of a chilly start doesn't do us any harm - though I admit I like it when DS is up first and bangs the heating on!

I do feel the cold, but am very active so do warm up quickly.

Our thermometer is in the kitchen, as it is the coldest room in the house and the room we wfh in.
It has just got to 15.9 degrees, with the heating being on since 5.30am. It was 11.9 when I came downstairs this morning.

It's an old Victorian terrace, no cavity wall insulation.
Lovely & cool in summer, bloody freezing in winter.

22° and I don't have the heating on. Just a very warm eco house with massively thick walls. Just turning the oven on heats the bottom two floors to sometimes ubmnbearabke temperatures. I couldn't stand 14° I start to moan when it's that cold outside let alone in! Whack the heating on, you'll feel better for it

Are you in the UK ?!

18 in mine.

This is what we keep it at and as it's a new build it's pretty toasty and stays warm. I was freezing for years in my old house so I love it here.

Sometimes 'boost' it for an hour to 21 if really cold which warms it all up.

Turn it off 8pm-8am.

Depends where we are monitoring temperatures. Lounge 20, bathroom 17, bedroom 19. So all is good here. Just need to wait to see the bills!
