I would slightly like to have a new thread, as it's sometimes nice to have somewhere to gather and just chat to people I feel like I've been through a lot with.

However I'm very low on energy at the moment, in my own life as much as in political chat. So I can't promise to contribute much, though I do like to read.

So if other people would prefer to let them fall by the wayside, I can't complain!

Meanwhile all round. Making tea is the only thing I'm good at.

We need the threads more than ever. They got us through the first term, they'll get us through this one, too. The knowledge we've shared and the opinions, including of those outside the US, are invaluable.

How about "Trump(+Musk) thread #137; 2nd term, folie á (part) deux" ?

I'd put a grave accent on that à, but otherwise, all good, @AcrossthePond55 (I'm half French, hence the spelling pedantry).

I think many of us are in a low ebb 'politically speaking' as far as 'smashed dreams' from the election and reality of Scrotus redux setting in.

it's always good to get a different perspective on things. it's fantastic that this is a space where we can agree to disagree and be civil with each other.

I would pay good money to see a traitors series with Trump, Musk, Bezos, Zuckerberg, Bannon et al.

Given that I no longer watch any TV news, these threads (and the Starmer/cat and Ukraine threads) are my only way of staying at least a bit informed

Could we have them in Squid Games instead?

Or a “Survivor” style show - abandoned them on a remote Hebridean island for a year and see how they get on!
