How often do you wake for a wee in the night?

I wake up at least once a night, sometimes twice. Without fail. It's super annoying. I don't drink tea after lunch (that just made me wee more) and try not to drink too much water in the evening, but still. Obviously when I was pregnant it was even worse.

Every hour, I'm 24 weeks pregnant. Before I was pregnant it was every 2-3 hours 😦

Fizzygoo · 07/11/2024 22:18

Twice about 130 and 5, it’s so annoying and has been like this since 40s

Eze · 07/11/2024 22:18

Once a night if my sugar levels are too high. I am diabetic.

OP, you might want to go get your sugar levels checked at the GP to rule this out.

Pretty much never.

Same. I'm 66.

Notateacheranymore · 07/11/2024 22:24

I rarely dream, but when I do, it’s usually this. Very annoying and I’ve been close to not waking up quickly enough on a number of times. 🫣😬

Stumpedasatree · 07/11/2024 22:26

I have to have one just before I drift off to sleep regardless if I’ve just been before going to bed, and then usually one or two during the night. Basically if I wake up I have to go otherwise I spend time lying awake wondering if I need to go which is very annoying!

RampantIvy · 07/11/2024 22:27

A doctor told my husband if you don’t go to the loo in the night you are most likely to be very dehydrated

I disagree. I drink loads during the day, and my urine is a pale yellow, yet I don't normally need to get up during the night.

NotMeNoNo · 07/11/2024 22:30

Never , am 55. Edit - I drink loads, including a big mug of herbal tea just before bed.

SwedishEdith · 07/11/2024 22:31

Very rarely. I can go to bed sometimes vaguely feeling like I could go but know I'll be alright until the morning.

MrsPostmanPat · 07/11/2024 22:48

At least once a night. Sunday night I was up 3 times though.

tryinganothername · 07/11/2024 22:48

It varies...
always at least once, normally twice, can be 3 or more times.

I have medical problems which contribute to occasionally not waking up in time, and when i do wake up I sometimes only just make it.

I always try to go at least twice before dropping off (with about 1 hours gap) but if im super tired and fall asleep before my midnight wee, I dont always wake up before its a little too late. I then typically need to go again around 4 / 5 am

I am normally desperate with a(nother) very full bladder upon waking in the morning.

I drink a lot of water during the day, never have any caffeine after about 4pm (latest), and try not to drink any water late in the evening or during the night.

Before never ..24 weeks pregnant and about 4 times a night!! Bloody nightmare

HydrangeaBush · 07/11/2024 23:54

Oh I wish I was a never...

It seems quite common then rather than a dr thing.

Thesilkinsideachesnutshell · 07/11/2024 21:18

Hardly ever. And I take a pint of squash to bed which I drink through the night without knowing.

Do you have a cat? 😬

SweetBaklava · 08/11/2024 06:28

Pretty much never, except during my pregnancies which drove me nuts 😆 I'm early 50s now.

HydrangeaBush · 08/11/2024 17:33

I want to become a never person 😭. How do I learn to sleep through?!

JohnTheRevelator · 08/11/2024 17:42

Pretty much never,as long as I go last thing before getting in bed,I can last 6 or 7 hours until I need to go again. However,if I've had a couple of glasses of wine,it's a different matter.

Joyee · 08/11/2024 19:17

I got Covid, and because of a urine infection that only showed up by needing to wee more often, I almost died, and survived with a kidney injury. Then gradually, because of the week's IV antibiotics, it all healed up. Now I am back to normal, although I do wee a fair bit, especially pre-wees, when I am going out. Better safe than sorry. Wee wees rock my world. And no kidney stones, they checked.

Thank you, I hadn't known that could be an indicator.

Most nights, twice. Always bursting in the morning too.

I’m 58.

LeaveALittleNote · 08/11/2024 19:51

Never.

caringcarer · 08/11/2024 20:29

Since the menopause usually 3 times. It's very annoying.

Joyee · 08/11/2024 20:56

I have a New York themed toilet seat.

ShaunaSadeki · 08/11/2024 20:58

Every night at least once, usually get up for a couple of mini wees before going to sleep too

MumoftwoGranofone · 08/11/2024 21:10
