Looks like Trump could win?

It's looking good for Trump. My dad is a total Trump hater and has been convinced that he won't win, especially since Kamala took over.
I don't know how the system works but is it too early to say that Trump is going to win?

I’m seeing a lot of ‘well it’s the democrats’ fault, what do you expect if you call other people racist, sexist and bigoted etc.’

Well, if your response to that is to vote for the racist, sexist, bigoted, er.. felon, then I do believe you walk like a duck.

That’s a significant number of people you just dissed.

Almost 72 million in fact.

Quack, quack.

Trump won't leave

But he will eventually die of old age and ill health. I would be much more worried if he was younger.

Trump has his own special level of craziness and corruption. There are some scary people in the Republican Party for sure but Trump is more of a cult leader.

Worry about vance. He is only 40 and potentially even worse. Very invested in banning abortion nationwide, pushing project 2025, and considering procreation a woman’s purpose and duty. And the duty of post-meno women to provide childcare.

It has been a great day.

First Trump’s win, and then Kemi’s inaugural PMQ’s.

The sooner the left retreats back to the shadows, the better.

@EverythingAllatOnceAllTheTime never a truer word said.
The left are hysterical today. Game over. Trump, Vance & the Republicans will get some proper common sense back into nation.
Great to see Kemi taking on the Tori leadership & the Republicans cleaning house.

Perfect28 · 06/11/2024 19:52

@Pumpkinspawn so do you agree with Kemi that maternity pay and leave is too generous?

Perfect28 · 06/11/2024 19:55

@EverythingAllatOnceAllTheTime 70 million people can be wrong. Hitler was voted in.

No I don't, I have benefited from generous maternity leave & pay which I was very grateful for.
However I am very happy with her strong stance on gender ideology & look forward to see her work on this for the safety & protection of all children & females.

Are you okay?

Perfect28 · 06/11/2024 20:01

@Pumpkinspawn so you would happily see her reduce maternity rights and likely other reproductive rights (let's be clear about this she is anti abortion and will only embolden right wing views about the place of women) because she aligns with your views on gender?

If so, that's insane.

Perfect28 · 06/11/2024 20:03

@Pumpkinspawn are you? Celebrating the success of a fascist?

I did and I stand by it. That’s why it’s so fucking scary. There’s 72 million of you.

It’s scary how many people are. I wonder whether they stop for a second and think about the people who are on the receiving end of this. Very directly on the receiving end of it.

I think we’re shouting into the void here. Unfortunately the void is shouting back.

Your grasp of history is tenuous.

Hitler came to power following the humiliation of WWI reparations, in addition to the great depression.

Perfect28 · 06/11/2024 20:30

@EverythingAllatOnceAllTheTime and those circumstances aren't analogous to now because?

Oh FGS, be serious please.

If you are really comparing Trump to Hitler, or the US to Nazi Germany.

An absurd comparison.

Respect the vote, or dont. Trumps name was on the ballot.

Perfect28 · 06/11/2024 20:37

I'm deadly serious.

Think about it on remembrance day when you are pledging 'never again'.

Peregrina · 06/11/2024 21:51

Not while it's just blacks, Latinos, women. When he comes for them it will be a different matter, but by then it will be too late.

Hitler came to power following the humiliation of WWI reparations, in addition to the great depression.

That is the story people were told. None of that negates the fact that he was voted in democratically.

The depression did not just affect the USA. The UK also suffered a severe depression in the 1930s but although Oswald Mosley had served as both Tory and then a Labour MP in the 1920s he wasn't able to gain a seat in the 1930s. and his British Union of Fascists was famously repulsed in the Battle of Cable Street.

BlastedPimples · 06/11/2024 23:00

The rise of Hitler. Was not voted in democratically

Of course women have the right to decide on abortion if there are serious circumstances involved. At 24 weeks gestation unless it's putting the woman's life in danger or the baby is extremely abnormal the idea is blood curdling. Look up images of a 24 week gestation aborted baby (the upper limit for abortion) & you may just change your minds. The timescales need to change drastically before it is universally accepted.

You perhaps need to spend a little more time looking at the overriding statistics and reasons for those later abortions rather than the sly implication that women do it lightly. Having said that - think very carefully about limiting women’s bodily autonomy based on the scenarios which you find palatable. Odd though, the right was rabid about bodily autonomy when it came to vaccinations and masks and obsessed about fetuses rights but not so bothered about gun laws when they’re the number one cause of death of children in the US. Go figure?
