Looks like Trump could win?

It's looking good for Trump. My dad is a total Trump hater and has been convinced that he won't win, especially since Kamala took over.
I don't know how the system works but is it too early to say that Trump is going to win?

Trump won't leave

But he will eventually die of old age and ill health. I would be much more worried if he was younger.

Trump has his own special level of craziness and corruption. There are some scary people in the Republican Party for sure but Trump is more of a cult leader.

That's how it used to be. Republicans ruined the country, Democrats came in and fixed it. Republicans came back in and did their usual nonsense, Democrats fixed it. Not an opinion, it's history. But if you don't see why this time is different you clearly haven't been paying attention or watching the news. Trump won't leave, his backwards supreme court has given him dictatoresque powers and he being the petty little manchild that he is, will use that to strike down anybody who disagrees with him. No more conversations, no more capable people running the govt, just incompetent shit bags looking to profit to the detriment of the people (look at the list of people he had last time, none remotely capable of doing the jobs he gave them and rfk junior and elon musk this time). On top of that he will soon have the power to stack the supreme court with conservatives and send America back to the stone age. This wasn't a scenario with any other previous Republican, so yeah, it's bad.

Since what you wrote is not true at all and totally biased to YOUR party, I will just laugh and shake my head. Delulu is rampant.

Labour can forget their Chagos Islands deal.

Looks like Trump is about to nix that.

I think the most important thing is to keep talking!

That was interesting @biscuitandcake

Snowyish · 06/11/2024 15:32

I think it's important that we clear up some misinformation that I've seen all morning on MN - Trump has not be convicted of rape.

It's stuff like this that helps divide people: I'm not minimising his other alleged crimes,

Fact Check: Was Donald Trump Found Guilty of Rape? - Newsweek

Donald Trump

Fact Check: Was Donald Trump found guilty of rape?

Trump critics claimed he was found guilty of rape after E. Jean Carroll's lawsuit against him ended.

Thanks for the fact check @Snowyish

Though I think most people (on this thread at least) have been saying things more like

found liable for sexual assault and has more than 25 other accusers of sexual assault and rape spanning decades

It's possible to have a reasonable belief he is a rapist, without an actual conviction.

I've seen the term "convicted rapist" several times in the last few pages alone.

He's not, I get that people want to reinforce their point or their side of the argument, but both sides doing it dishonestly serves no one well.

All of the allegations against Trump have been in "Civil Cases"

Civil cases generally only result in monetary damages or orders to do or not do something, known as injunctions. A criminal case may involve both jail time and monetary punishment

DanielaDressen · 06/11/2024 16:14

So can we say he’s been found guilty of sexual assault in a civil court?

He's been found guilty of battery in a civil court according to the info in the link. It's worth noting that these cases didn't go to a criminal court for a reason. I'll leave you to decide what the reason is.

Actually, there is an X movement with Democrats calling it election fraud, wanting a recount and chanting, "Don't concede Kamala".

I do think there needs to be a few recounts where the counts are really close.

EverythingAllatOnceAllTheTime · 06/11/2024 16:30

Where is Kamala?

Kamala, are you there?

Has anyone seen Kamala recently?

It's bonkers how close some of them can be, I remember Biden winning Georgia by 13,000 votes - out of a population of 11 million registered voters or 0.24 of 1%

Oh no. That we really do not need.

Do you mean on X formerly known as Twitter? That site is toxic and its hard to find any sane take on politics there. So long as it stays on X and doesn't mutate into the real world its much of a muchness (different if its prominent influencers, journalists etc).

Peregrina · 06/11/2024 16:47

If those Latinos who voted for him end up losing their visas and green cards, see their families split up and family members deported. I guess that will be their just desserts and most, including myself, will be too tired to give a fuck.

I suspect when it comes down to it, it will be found that a significant number of the said Latinos were born in the USA and can't be deported.

He openly bragged about sexual
assault so it’s a safe bet.

It has been a great day.

First Trump’s win, and then Kemi’s inaugural PMQ’s.

The sooner the left retreats back to the shadows, the better.

At the end of the day, there was a democratic election and Trump won. He will be the 47th President. Americans have made their choice. We need to accept that. Democracy means you have to put up with your choice of candidate not always winning.
