Looks like Trump could win?

It's looking good for Trump. My dad is a total Trump hater and has been convinced that he won't win, especially since Kamala took over.
I don't know how the system works but is it too early to say that Trump is going to win?

I feel really miserable. Concerned about the rise of right wing ideology and losing faith in humanity.

Yes me to i am no.longer gonna get involved in need related to this stuff or give a shit about politics now . For me, this isn't just about democracy. It's not even just a different opinion to myself.

Any other republican for instance, if liz chaney was standing, I would be like, okay, you've got a different opinion to me fair enough, but this is totally different. This guy stood up the other day and stated that liz cheney should have nine barrels of shotgun on her. In his campaign, he has said some awful stuff. Absolutely Disgusting stuff and wants to do disgusting stuff to people's rights. So even though I am british, I can't imagine how some people in america must be feeling, because this is exactly how I felt when people were happy to vote for the conservatives when they have actually stood on a platform of culture war nasty nasty stuff. I am utterly disgusted at other people. He isn't just having a different of opinion. I can cope with that . I can cope with back in a day, a typical rep or say tory possibly wanting to be about business, etc.But what I cannot cope with is people actively wanting to vote people that are cruel
plus the amount of videos i've been watching on youtube for the last few months, showing a typical trump supporter when interviewed has no actual knowledge of any s* it's ridiculous that people can be so bloody thick. If they actually had an argument for what they were voting for but whenever they were asked about a certain policy that trump was saying they didn't even have a clue. Like one guy was saying, oh, but dei is really bad, and then he was asked, what does that mean, what does it actually entail? He couldn't answer.
For the people that are saying, oh well, people that voted labour have regretted it. I haven't regretted it because even if they don't get everything, right, they are still not a party that enjoys nasty rhetoric and that Robert jenwick destroyed a cartoon for migrant kids. Cos you know let's be ultra nasty
. I don't care that you hate the left view or opinions but what the left is they have more emotional empathy of people they don't do policies on a whole that hurts people minorities etc. They don't come across especially donald trump and his ilk as nasty weirdos who you wouldn't want to look after kids. Kamala I have been watching her she genuinely seemed so nice caring you could feel it from her where as trump he's all out for himself. Even his own republicans that worked for him thought that .

AndThere, hmm.. I'm not really a Thatcher fan but she intimidated Russia & Argentina, didn't she? Can't see Harris doing that, admittedly.

PA still has to count its mail votes.

They start counting mail in votes from 7am on election day.

Current results favour Trump with 94% of the votes counted.

Trump supporters tend to be uneducated rednecks who hate brown skin. Fact.

So half the country of America?

Many don’t really like Trump as a person, but see the direction of the country as more important than the man.

Trunp voters felt Harris presidency :

a) wouldn’t have firm action on the border and would allow the country to continue to be flooded with illegal immigrants,

b) would continue to push divisive and racist identity politics that celebrates victimhood

c) would push an ultra-progressive trans agenda that erases the female sex and pushes impressionable teens into life changing hormone therapy and mutilation.

d) would be weak on the world stage, and continue to throw billions of taxpayer money in fruitless attempts to make changes things (I have always supported Ukraine, but the current policy of providing just enough to enable a stalemate to continue isn’t good for anyone, and ultimately we have to accept the reality on the ground).

And stopping that was more important than having a “nice” person as their president.

Most of that sounds like misinformation to me. If I were you, I would do some of my own research on those things before quoting them.

kkneat · 06/11/2024 07:03

It is absolutely shocking. He knows nothing about politics. It’s unbelievable that you can’t vote in America if you have a criminal conviction yet you can be President.

anotherside · 06/11/2024 07:03

Trump has won!

This is why he will win.

It isn't because your statement is true. It's because people are sick to the back teeth of being insulted, labelled 'far right' for expressing a difference of opinion.

Look at the state of the world. Seriously.

I think this is right.

Ordinary folk are tired of being lectured to,
and looked down upon.

Brexit was a function of that and now Labour have adopted a similar air of superiority- do as I say, not do as I do.

Meanwhile, tax and spend is deeply unpopular- most hardworking people want less government,
not more.

NYT has said Trump has 91% chance of winning. I find it very hard to understand why anyone - but women in particular - would vote for him.

Because food is 20% more on average and a bunch of other junk like the Green New Deal, banning fossil fuels!

AhBiscuits · 06/11/2024 07:04

He is literally a criminal who hates women. Unbelievable.

AliasGrace47 · 06/11/2024 07:04

He said Liz Cheney should be shot? That is incredibly dangerous rhetoric in the current climate.

Trump haters tend to be bigots who look down upon people with other political beliefs. Fact.

As I have just stated in my last post comment it's not that we look down on people uts that if this was any other republican I wouls be like I agree to disagree but when trump supporters spout nasty stuff like he says what we can't say which means he says that say haitans are eating cats and dogs all turned out to be false. Trump even said he might have made it up on an interview I watched. It's the cruel rhetoric the bothering of people. You won't get that those that like him don't they can't see how utter vile their views are.

Could it be 24 weeks, or up until birth if the baby is disabled, that's the law in the UK

Harris did NOTsay abortion ok up till delivery term

This is typical trump lying and twisting

. Let’s see him end Ukraine in a ‘ Day ‘ as he claimed and fix everyone’s salaries without nosediving the economy.

like us, it’ll go blue again in four years when the reds f u

The Democratic Party should have realised that Biden wasn’t a viable reelection choice and they should have taken their time to look for a better candidate. Kamala was a rush decision and one would hope they learn from this.

I agree. I couldn’t believe Biden actually intended to stand for a second term. When he was elected in 2020, he was barely fit for office then. I was sure he was going to announce he wasn’t running back in 2022 or 2023… but I was wrong.

Amen to this. I hope they learn about how not to alienate the electorate.

He said Liz Cheney should be shot? That is incredibly dangerous rhetoric in the current climate.

It’s this kind of out of context nonsense that people hate. He wanted to know if Liz Cheney would be such a war hawk if it was her facing down the enemy’s guns on the battlefield.

Complexly different meaning but somehow people read it as Trump wanting to stand his enemies up against the wall.

Horrendous news this morning - a very bad day for the world if Trump gets in again. Dread to think what it means re the wars going on.

He’ll pardon himself of his crimes and I think he’ll try and change the rules so he can do more than two terms.

What is wrong with the American people?
He’s like a cult leader! Completely taken people in its just bizarre. He couldnt care a jot for any of them!

He is absolutely a cult leader. That is exactly how he operates. It’s so depressing.

So why Putin did not act when Trump was in charged last time?. 🤔

RingoJuice · 06/11/2024 07:09

I’m super happy as a Trump voter ✌️ never understood the absolute hate he gets in Britain. You just don’t get it tbh

EsmaCannonball · 06/11/2024 07:10

BBC now officially saying Trump projected to win Pennsylvania. That's it. It's all over.

I'm reminded that Obama did not want Harris as the candidate and felt blindsided by Biden's early endorsement of her. If only the Democrats had listened to him.

That might be what he meant but it is not what he said and what he said was utterly indefensible and dangerous.
