Is anyone worried what might happen if Trump wins?

We won't know anything at 2am as California is at 6pm at that time, so all polls won't have closed.
In all likelihood it will take time due to recounts and court battles.

In your view nothing will ever be worse. For me it was blown out of proportion and weaponised for every single debate against the unacceptable behaviour of the Democrats. If you ask me deranged people attacking and assaulting others and delaying planes just because someone has a different political view. it is pretty bad. Specially coming from the high moral ground side. All of this is the fault of their leaders and the campaign purely based on bashing Trump and his followers.

Five people DIED, ffs!!!

Trump supporters would play down him murdering a baby on The White House front lawn yet try to get Harries jailed for farting 🙄

"...where the speakers called Puerto Rico an island of garbage"

I can't speak to your other complaints, but with regard to this one. This was a "joke" made by a single comedian entertaining the audience before Trump arrived rather than multiple "speakers". The joke didn't go down too well with the audience.

You might not be aware of the context of this joke. Waste management in Puerto Rico is a serious problem.

For example, here is an article from 2021 about the trash problem in Puerto Rico:

Trash Crisis Leaves Puerto Rico Near ‘the Brink’

Or this more recent article

So this comedian, who is famous for his racist jokes, wasn't actually making a racist joke on this occasion but was actually drawing people's attention to Puerto Rico's waste management problems!

Trump's team did know what he planned to say because he was going to call Kamala a cunt and this was removed.

No. I was not comparing that. Someone came up with Capitol not me? Read the thread. As I said already.

This is what you wrote in response to mention of the Capitol insurrection.

I have a strong feeling Trump is going to do it! Hopefully we'll see no more males in female sports, toilets, changing rooms, prisons & female only spaces.

Did he put a stop to that during his last tenure?

I hope that you’re very, very wrong. Males in female spaces will be the least of your worries if he wins.

Yeah, but only because the Donald doesn't want to accidentally grope a man.

I think Harris will win Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania and win by 270 to 268 over Trump.

Pumpkinspawn · 06/11/2024 00:59

Trump winning 32 Harris 3

Early days, and the places where Trump is winning is where you'd expect him to be winning as far as I can tell? No expert though!

Pumpkinspawn · 06/11/2024 01:08

It's now Trump 105 & Harris 72
Yes no surprises so far

Where are you seeing that (assuming you're in the UK)? Every channel I can see is Harris 27, Trump 90 at the moment.

Pumpkinspawn · 06/11/2024 01:18

I'm watching Fox News

That’s correct. There’ll be lots of states that KH will win, lots that DT will.

It comes down to 6 swing states that aren’t certain to go one way or the other. These are Pennsylvania, Georgia, Michigan, North Carolina, Arizona, Wisconsin and Nevada.

My 14yo son said there are enough checks and balances that he can’t do any of the crazy shit he wants. Let’s hope he’s right or we don’t have to find out.

The Supreme Court ruled that presidents have absolute immunity from criminal prosecution for acts taken as part of their “core constitutional duties."

He is currently whining about "massive CHEATING" in Philadelphia, which is a good sign his numbers aren't good for Pennsylvania. Fingers crossed.

I thought he’d win (I didn’t want him to) but this looks like a landslide victory.

AnotherHotDrink · 06/11/2024 07:00

Prince Harry and Starmer who sent those ex Labour MPs to campaign against him, imagine being them this morning, eek!

violetchachki · 06/11/2024 07:01

From Associated Press, re Nevada: Mailed ballots are accepted and counted until Saturday, and thousands of voters whose ballots were set aside to allow for signature verification, or “curing,” have until 5 p.m. Nov. 12 to validate their vote with election officials.

According to AP, what races are still left to call: Alaska, Arizona, three districts in Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Nevada, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.

Also AP: Harris still has a path to the White House through the Northern battleground states, but the map is getting less forgiving.
Harris’ campaign has long said her surest way to 270 electoral votes was through Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin, states Trump won in 2016 and Biden captured narrowly in 2020.
Harris cannot lose Pennsylvania and reach 270 electoral votes. However, she can lose pieces of the blue wall — so named for its longtime reputation as a Democratic firewall — and still reach 270.
If she loses Michigan, she can make it up by winning Arizona and Nevada. She can lose Wisconsin and make up for it with Arizona.
But the map has surely shrunk for Harris, who cannot lose more than one in the three-state northern arc.

It ain't over til it's over.
